Free + Still Good + F&WF = Let's Go TR!!! Completed! - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Oh darn it - looking at your photos, I just realised I missed the shrimp and the Dole Pineapple sweet'n'sour sauce. Oh well, a reason to go back, I guess!
Cheryl - honestly you weren't missing much . I think they could have done a better job with it

I think you two mastered the F&WF in a very short period of time! The Hawaii pork slider was my favorite from last year. yummy: And now I'm ready to go back. Thank goodness we will be!
This morning we decided to grab a quick breakfast at Everything POP! Scott had a western omelet with a biscuit, banana, orange juice and a milk. I went for the Adult Breakfast Platter (although looking at the photo, I am thinking maybe I got the kids size?) with scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon and sausage; a banana, and a diet coke!
With full bellies we hopped on the bus to Hollywood Studios (although this park will always forever be MGM to me!), arriving just after 9am.
We had all our Fastpass + for this morning before noon! With the first one being for Toy Story Mania, but of course, we saw Pluto along the way, and stopped for some fun with him! Just as a FYI…..Pluto really enjoys being “scratched”!!
Then we made it to Toy Story Mania, where yes – Scott scored higher…..BUT my accuracy was MUCH better than his! Just sayin’!
We had a little time before our next Fastpass + was ripe, so we went on the Great Movie Ride, and I asked about the Western side (if you followed my last TR, you know that was quite the mission for Emily) – so Scott was finally able to see this version!
It was time for us to head to Tower of Terror. Now I do not love this ride, but I go on for the sake of my dear husband………BUT the WHOLE park, and probably ALL of Disney World know that I am riding as they can hear my screams! At least I can entertain a few guests the whole time. Once is usually quite enough for me thank you! Sorry – I know there are many of you who love this ride.
We had timed it right, and now our Fastpass + for Rock ‘n Roller Coaster was good – so we headed there next!
While we were walking down Sunset Boulevard, Scott noticed a Photopass Photographer in training – and of course he offered himself as a “model” – and then asked me to join him!
We had noticed that Stitch was out – so of course I had to stop and play with him a bit!
I'm not touching you!!!
Then we wanted to see which characters were out in Animation Courtyard, so we headed over there – and found that Minnie had a new home! Her room is so cute here! And it looks as though this is a new permanent spot to meet Minnie!
And of course, we had to stop in to see our Monster friends – Mike & Sully!
We had done what we wanted to here and we were starting to get a bit hungry – so we started to head out, as we wanted to have lunch in Epcot!
Of course, we had to stop for a few more photopass photos – this time on Hollywood Boulevard!
We took the boat from DHS to Epcot – which allowed for some down time – as this is probably the slowest way to get to Epcot! But the boat was air conditioned and we were sitting – so it was all good!
We arrived to Epcot through the International Gateway – and headed straight to England to share an order of Fish & Chips and pomegranate lemonade. We like to sit at the tables behind here looking over the water.
We wanted to do some more sampling at the booths – so we started heading that way.
Scott wanted to go back to New Zealand to try the Venison Sausage with Pickled Mushrooms, Baby Arugula & Black Currant Reduction. He enjoyed it!
Found a photopass photographer!
Japan was our next stop – as there was something on their menu that was intriguing to me – the Green Tea Colada!!! OH MY!!! Talk about refreshing on a hot day!!! We also had the Spicy Hand Roll – well, Scott mostly ate it – as I am not a big fan. I was quite content with my colada!
Next, we stopped in Poland for the Kielbasa & Potato Pierogi with Caramelized Onions & Sour Cream and a Frozen Szarlotka (Apple Pie) featuring Zubrowka Bison Grass Vodka.
We continued on – looking over the passport to see what we may have missed that interest us – and stopped in Africa and got the Spinach & Paneer Cheese Pocket and a glass of MAN Vintners Chenin Blanc. We had found a table to share with 2 other women – and we all shared our thoughts and recommendations of the F&WF!
More photopass photos!!
Per the recommendation of our table mates – we stopped in China to each get a drink – which we shared each – a Kung Fu Punch with Vodka and a Happy Lychee with Vodka. These were like full size drinks! Took us a while to finish these up!
Then we headed over to Imagination and rode Journey into Imagination with Figment (one of Scott’s favorites!).
We managed to get onto Soarin’ also!
Now it was nearing 3:30 and we needed to head back to POP to get ready for our evening!!!
Up Next: Party, Party, Party!!!

As soon as I saw that Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise I immediately tracked a recipe down and pinned it. That looks so good.
You and your husband are so cute. Looking forward to reading more.
Now that's what I call a lot of great interaction - my favourite has to be Pluto. The shots of him down on all fours is just brilliant! I also love the shot of the two of you in Japan.
