As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Foods that make you go UGH!!!!!!
Not just because you dont like the taste, but maybe because it was the last thing you ate before getting a nasty bout of flu and you just cant think of it in a positive light ever again??
Ugh because I hate the taste are anything slimey or mealy:
Raisins
Red apples
Okra anything except for grated in sauces.........
banannas(again, dont care for mealy tasting fruits or veggies)
Tuna casserole will NEVER again touch my lips, because it was the last thing I ate before getting the worst case of flu that I have ever had(resulting in iv drip, after Iv drip)........... logically, I know that I had the flu, not food poisioning and that it had nothing to do w/tuna casserole, but my gag reflex says any combo of tuna, noodles and breadcrumbs may no longer EVER pass my lips........

Re: Foods that make you go UGH!!!!!!
For some reason banana anything makes me GAG! I almost lost it a few years ago when my girlfriend and I had our little ones in a gymnastics class and a lady next to me opened a jar of banana babyfood! That close I tell you! It must be genetic because my DH was making banana bread a few months ago ( I stay WAY clear of the kitchen!) and Miss Emily wanted to help. When DH started mashing the bananas up she almost lost it as well!!!!! I'm getting a little woozy just typing about it!

Here's another reason to hate bananas: A few years ago, my mom was eating one and bit into a slug. I absolutely love bananas, but for about a year after that I had to cut them up into tiny pieces to eat them. I'm past it now, but it seriously grossed me out!

Re: Foods that make you go UGH!!!!!!
I can't think of any. I used to hate cole slaw, but I think I ate some a few months ago without incident. I get the heebies over other stuff, like tags, small handwriting, little pieces of paper, used clothes, etc.

Potato chips. Last thing I ate before I got sick back when I was about 8 or 9. Haven't eaten them since.
Cauliflower, just because I can't stand the smell.

Re: Foods that make you go UGH!!!!!!
OH TINA!!!!!!!! THAT IS SO GROSS(the slug) That was already an ugh, but now banannas are a definate UGH on my list!LOL!! Wait till I tell my bananna lovin dh!LOL!!
For a long time I could NOT prepare in any way a whole fryer chicken. I bought a Tyson Fryer once and when I went to pull the bag of giblets out, I instead pulled out the................
FROZEN CHICKEN HEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The whole durn thing from beak, to eyeballs......I about passed out; I then FLUNG said frozen chicken head like a bowling ball down the length of my galley kitchen, where it came to rest beak side out; staring and mocking me!!!!!!
I called my husband at work in HYSTERICS........He said he at first thought I was having a nightmare about an attacking chicken, but once he got it sorted out, he calle dthe commissary who told him to have me bag it and for him to return it that afternoon; Uh, I will pick up the chicken head?? NOT!!! Instead paid 4 year old toddler a dollar to do it, although he would have done it for free!LOL!!
I did however get 100.00 in free Tyson products and a cookbook to express their displeasure at having one of their customers pull a severed, frozen chicken head out of the chicken carcass!!!!!!!!

Popcorn. Ugh. The smell even gags me and it's a major deterrent for going to the movies. It was something I ate right before the food poisoning kicked in when I was in college. BARF.

Re: Foods that make you go UGH!!!!!!
I can't ever eat fudge again, as I ate it when I was very ill as a kid and I was sick not long afterwards. Even the smell of it these days makes me feel ill!

Re: Foods that make you go UGH!!!!!!
<font color="purple"> Tomatos...Never have liked them ever. But I have a funny (at least now) story about them. I literally get the gag reflex if I accidentally eat a piece. But I love ketchup and spaghetti sauce if it doesn't have chunks in it.
Anyhow, when I was a little kid (about 6-ish) my mom and I were eating dinner and had side salads. My mom had the little round tomatos in her salad and went to stab one with the fork to eat it and it's inards squished out all over my face. So, there I am, cute little 6ish year old with tomato guts dripping off my face crying and screaming cuz I am so grossed out, and what does my mom do? Starts laughing hysterically at me!!! And of course, that makes me mad and even more upset, so I start crying more and more...the more I would cry, the harder my mom would laugh!!! It was a vicious circle! So I sat like that for what seemed liked forever until my mom could compose herself long enough to clean me off. I know that it probably WAS hysterical looking at the time, but still! So needless to say, I have never looked at a tomato the same way again (and ALWAYS from a distance ).
