A DREAM is a wish your heart makes...Halloween on the High Seas edition - updated 09/14/2014 - Page 16 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Loved your own personal sailaway party, the kids look like they are having such a great time with each other. Love how kids can meet a new friend and get along like they have been friends forever
I just read your entire TR and caught up! What a roller coaster of good and scary (insulin pump/purse). I'm excited to read about the cruise - we are going on our first in Nov of this year!
You are going to LOVE it!

Kids are like that and it's so great that they are. I think they all can't wait to see each other again.
Just found this. I was waiting for you to add to the pre-trip one. Glad I was cruising the board. I need to go back and read the trip now. Can't wait to follow along with your adventure.

After the show it was time to head to dinner. I was starving! And I’m sure the boys were hungry too as I don’t think we did any snacking between lunch and now. We were at Enchanted Garden a little before opening and found a spot to wait. Then everyone at some point or another had to use the restroom and our spot was then taken and we got pushed back in line. Oh well. It’s very interesting walking into a restaurant where they hand you a wipe for your hands. I get the germs, but I still find it interesting. We were led to our table and we were the first to arrive to we chose seats. The kids all had their names written on the lids of their cups with little Mickey heads drawn on. This happened each night and I thought it was a cute touch. I tried taking a picture of the menu but it didn’t turn out so well and now I can’t remember what we all had (if I remember I’ll try to write it in under the picture). I know Mike had fish at every meal and was in heaven because of it. The boys were in heaven because they got a Mickey bar for dessert after every meal. Since it was the first night and we were all feeling celebratory, all the adults had a glass of wine with dinner. All I know is I had white (probably a Riesling) and Mike had red.
kid's menu
bread service
spread for the bread
Lobster ravioli - Mike & I both had this
ceasar wedge salad
I think this was some sort of asparagus soup ??? Mike had this so I don't remember.
I have no idea what the boys had tonight. I know Lukas ordered a salad every night and Dylan usually had fruit to start with.
Roasted chicken with whipped sweet potatoes - I think
scallops & ???
Closer to 9pm we were getting antsy about the kids going to the kid’s club and we thought CMs would be coming in the restaurant to get them so we sent the hubbies with the kids out front to check it out and sure enough that’s where they needed to be. Melissa & I enjoyed ourselves but after a while we were becoming concerned about where the hubbies were as it had been a while. I went to check on them since it was easier for me to get out. Everything was fine, just taking a while longer on this first night. The gentlemen returned and we adults enjoyed ourselves just talking. Soon enough we relaxed we were practically the only ones left so we made our way out and to the atrium/lobby area to decide what to do. We decided to go our separate ways and Mike & I were going to check out the shops when the wave phone went off saying Lukas would like to be picked up. So off we went to the kid’s club.
our pallette cleansers - the chocolate was thick and kind of dry tasting? the other was an apricot jello texture - both interesting
Upon arriving, only one parent is allowed in so I went in search of Lukas while Mike waited in the hall. I found the boys together outside the Monsters Inc lab and they acted like they didn’t know why I was there. It was late at this point so I told them both it was time to go. They didn’t put up a fight and soon enough we were back in the hallway where we found Mike as well as Melissa, Chad & Hope. As you all know from Melissa’s TR, Hope wasn’t too keen on leaving, but a CM sorted that out quickly. As we made our way to the elevators, I had Melissa take a picture of us – had to show Linny my matchy-matchy you know. J
We made it back to the room finally to find our first blanket animal, tomorrow’s navigator, some chocolates, and a present from DVC. The boys were excited to check out the bed and soon we were all ‘dream’ing away!
these lanyards were in the box
as well as the pin on the right. We got the pin on the left later that week.
mural on the ceiling of top bunk - Peter Pan
Wendy
John & Michael
Tinkerbell
I’ll add today’s favorites later as I left them at home.
Great dinner, and I love the photo of the four of you. The boys look like they're loving that top bunk. I hope you and Mike took some time to go out on the balcony after dark! I love seeing the moon reflected in the ocean!

Love the mural over the bed, too cute! Sounds like a nice night and glad it wasn't too hard to figure out the "scoop up your kids from dinner" situation so you could all enjoy some relaxation!
All caught up now. What a long drive!! Don't think we could drive to Florida from here. Great first night there. Then the next day what a couple of scares that happened. Glad that everything worked out for the best!! What a great get together on the cruise!! Dinner looks yummy! Can't wait to hear more!

Now that is matchy-matchy done to perfection!!!!
That soup was asparagus soup and I loved that soooo much, but I am a soup girl.
I didn't know they only let one parent in to pick up the kids.....I wonder if that is new??
Dylan looks so grown up at dinner, and those lights above the bed are just so sweet. I don't think the Magic has them
Sounds like a great first day. Am enjoying reading the companion TRs on this trip. I think you and Melissa must have had the three cutest kids on the ship
