Just the two of us! (Need I say anything more?) Our Fantasy & Dream trip…Lots of photos completed 4/25/2014 - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Wow! All your pictures are fabulous. Glad they had all Dan's birthday stuff there. The cake looks great!
I have decided that if I ever stay at POR, I will have to pay for a Royal Room bc every time I see the AB rooms, I am not impressed. I would be heartbroken if I ended up there...so I don't think I could stay unless I was guaranteed a mansion room. The only thing I think is cool about it is that little bed that comes out from under the tv. I am sure you didn't use that....did you?
Can't wait to hear about getting off on you cruise!
Great pics!
POR Alligator Bayou looked beautiful. I think that is where we will be staying in Oct.
Glad Boatwrights had Dan's cake!
Great arrival day before heading to your cruise.
Catching up a bit, but you're off to a great start! The first time we stayed at POR I really wanted to be in the Mansion section, but we were in AB instead. I didn't think I would like that area at all, but the landscaping is really beautiful.
All of your pictures from BOG are stunning, I just love that restaurant!
We've never tried Boatwrights, but the food looks really good. I'm glad they didn't forget Dan's cake!
Great update! I love Cindy's castle at Christmas- it looks like an ice house!
Boatwrights looks really good. We have stayed in the AB section before and loved it, but never tried the dinning. Your meal looks very tasty, but I would have not eaten a bit if I knew red velvet and cream cheese awaited me!!!
Your pics of POR are great! It looks just like I remember it...of course I saw it just days before you took those pictures!
The food looks wonderful! We didn't make it into Boatwrigh's, but we passed by it each day on the way to the food court. I'll definitely stay at POR again someday, and I'm going to order the same things you did at Boatwrights! Glad they didn't mess up Dan's cake! It looked wonderful as all your cakes usually do!
I'm thinking of staying there next time and asking for a Mansion room or maybe booking a Royal room. Just to experience something different. Boatwright's is already on our list.

So glad you like the pics. You'll like Boatwright's even more. I would label it as a hidden jewel. You won't be disappointed.

Looks rather large in the photo but it was just big enough for 2 possibly 3.

I thought I would be heart broken also but when I saw the room I fell in love with it. No we didn't use the extra bed. I was just nosy about what was in there. Glad it didn't fall apart and get stuck that way...lol!

Great arrival day before heading to your cruise.
Couldn't ask for a better pre-cruise stay.

Those of you who followed me through my PTR know that things did not run very smoothly for me. My mom has been in a skilled nursing facility for more than half of 2013. Her second stay was a re-broken hip and femur which took a lot out of her and lasted three months. Her last stay was due to Congestive Heart Failure and she was not suppose to come home...ever. She went to the nursing home to die.
Well I'm happy to say that mom is a stubborn 80 year old and after five long months she came home yesterday. She is living with CHF but the point is...she is living. We are thrilled to have her home and she is better than she has ever been. This TR will continue at a proper pace. I'm so glad all of you have joined me.

We woke up in plenty of time before our limo pickup of 10 am arrived. I headed out and walked around the grounds of Port Orleans Riverside to look for some photo ops which seemed to be around every corner. I took my time and got some great shots hopefully not too much for you all to view. Some of my favorites...ok, a lot!!!
So that’s what in there?
Goodbye 38 Alligator Bayou
I returned and did the last minute check before call bell services to help with our luggage. Problem was when I called they said they were backed up and the wait would be about 50 minutes. What??? So Dan and I reluctantly dragged our luggage and carryon’s through the walkways and finally to the front. Our limo was actually early and before we knew it we were on our way to 7 days on the Fantasy.
Our limo driver Damian was very chatty which was nice. He was actually filling in for someone on his day off but the conversion made the ride to the port very pleasant and quick. Soon we were crossing the bridge and getting the first glimpse of the Fantasy. There she is...
First glimpse…through tinted glass…sorry
We checked in and got into a seemingly long line for security but soon we were through it and inside the terminal. We were directed to the counter which was #23, turned in our paperwork and received our lanyards and boarding pass which was #3. We found a place to sit which was a task in itself because the place was already packed. I spent some time taking some pictures as always until I heard the family of the day being announced which sounded familiar to me and just happened to be one of the families from our Face Book page. In a few minutes we heard our number, went through the yellow Mickey ears, checked in with our KTTW card and had our photo taken. DCL Terminal Close-up of cute Mickey hands….Hey I wonder if the time is always off??? Christmas inside the terminal
Boarding pass
Here we go Love this!
Once our photo was taken it was up the gangway where we would be welcomed home. Now some of you may remember that last year when I gave them our family name I wanted to make sure they said it correctly. Koo-z-an. Kuzian with a K and we were promptly welcomed as the Guzman family. We still laugh about it today. So a young man from Canada welcomed us and asked our name to which I explained briefly what happened last time and that we were Kuzian with a K. Then came the announcement. “Welcome aboard, the Kuzian family. Kuzian with a K!” Oh well at least he got it right.
We quickly got in line for guest services to sign up for tastings and drop off my plate for character signatures. Dan wanted champagne which was not offered. We already had a group Mixology booked so I grabbed up the Wine and Chocolate to Dan’s dismay. I asked if he wanted anything else but nothing appealed to him so we left it at that. We had in past done Mixology, Martini, Tequila and Margarita and Whiskey so I was fine with just the two. I also learned at Guest Services that the Fantasy was a full sailing not even an upgrade to be found.
We were directed to Cabana’s for lunch and headed for deck 11. We grabbed a table, Dan ordered us a drink in a souvenir glass and we were off to the buffet. Oooo so many choices. I didn’t take any pictures of the food offerings due to the crowds. So many yummy things though the steak was waaayy overdone. Stone Crab….Dan loves these Potato and Leek soup…this was so good Desserts for two!
After lunch we headed outside to find a table and fill our glasses with Coke. It was here that Dan decided to play photographer and you can see the results. Lol! Striking a pose
Really now? Final shot…ok not to bad. I would have removed the glass!
By now it was a little after 1:30 so we decided to head up to deck 9 and see if our room was ready which it was. This was our first Porthole window stateroom and I was a tad curious of what I would see. I was pleasantly surprised. Our Forward Stateroom #9506
Another Silver backpack
Love this round tub<3
Asti for two
Room art I’m going to love this window
We had a meet at three with our Facebook friends and headed to D-Lounge where a group was already wandering around. One of our cruisers a gentleman from Australia had special bracelets made so we could identify each other during our cruise. They were only buck and really cool. We sat and chatted with many of our cruise mates some of which I recognized and some I did not but soon the crowd had to disperse to get ready for the lifeboat drill. D-Lounge Can you see the Mickey head in the ceiling? FFV Bracelet
Not my image Next...leaving Port Canaveral as that familiar feeling strikes again.
