As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

A Few of My Favorite Things, A Race & Scrapbook Pages, Too!
This TR is going to be a little different than other trip reports. One of the things I enjoy most about planning at trip to WDW is thinking about all the things that I looking most forward too, and making that the center of my PTR.
My plan for this TR is to start off getting us to WDW and then switch from “we did this, then we did this” to going back through my PTR list of the things I was looking most forward to on my trip and reflect on those things… and then get us home again.

This is me! I am a 40 something pooh/tink sized girl. I had never run in my adult life, and was peer pressured last October to agree to run 10 miles for a trip to Disney World with a group of online friends. YIKES! But I will run for Dole Whips and Disney Trips! So I started my training almost a year to the day of when I would be running the Tower of Terror 10 miler. My training has had highs and way too many lows…the lowest coming the beginning of July when I developed a stress fracture and was sidelined from running for 8 weeks…some of my darkest hours made even darker when the friend side of this trip fell apart the beginning of August and was basically exiled from what was left of my group that I was traveling with. Not letting injury or rejection stop me, I pulled up my big girl panties and became a better person inside and out. I love to scrapbook, and recently have gone digital in this hobby! Be aware you might have to view lots of my pages that go with this trip! I also hate to be in pictures…so you won’t see me a lot!
This is Cammy with her favorite character Goofy! She is a 20 something ball of fire and my own personal cheerleader. When I told her about my plans last fall, she instantly began helping me with this running thing and offered me lots of moral support…she was so jealous of the trip and the run. When things fell apart, she was the first one I called and asked if she would like to go along (thankfully she has a wonderful husband who agreed). But her trip was almost derailed too…midSeptember she fractured her foot, however she is one tough gal and even injured I could not keep up with her. This would be her 2nd trip to WDW, but she doesn’t remember much of the 1st trip and I intended to make it memorable for her this time around.
WHAT:
A girls trip to the world (no boys and no kids) to spend some time in the most magical place on earth and ending it with a Disney Run…Tower of Terror 10-miler!
What a long day departure day was, having to put in a full day at work before we could be on our way. This journey to the world had been in the works for almost 2 years, but this actual trip I was taking was put together in 6 weeks. My morning started with last minute packing and preparations for my family for the time I was gone. It was made a little more magical when I put on…
before loading the car with my luggage
(don't you just love the red bag...a wonderful gift from an AWESOME TRAVEL AGENT) and heading off to a morning meeting. After my meeting I stopped by Walgreens to pick up a couple of items when I found…
a little treat for our plane ride to get us in the mood. The afternoon seemed to be endless as I watched the clock and tried to get some work done. Finally, the 3 pm dismissal bell for the students rang and not long after I found myself sprinting out the door for a short drive to the airport. I had not had a chance all day to see Cammy and I was a little concerned as to what I was going to see at the airport…

About 2 weeks prior to our trip Cammy ended up with a stress fracture in her foot. Really the fracture happened a few weeks prior but she finally decided to get it checked, thus resulting in a boot on her left foot.
Does this seem like this race was doomed...I had just been sidelined for 8 weeks thanks to a stress fracture and been in Physical Therapy and only been running again for about 3 weeks. But just like me Cammy did not let a little stress fracture get in the way of a trip to WDW and we both prayed that come the night before our trip when she went back to the doctor the fracture would be healed enough for her to run. She texted me the night before our trip, with the news that her stress fracture was gone only to be replaced by a complete fracture of her foot in 2 places and we would be traveling to WDW with a knee walker. Her doctor (who is also a friend) did not rule out the run for her…guess the doctor knows that a little thing like a fracture would not stop Cammy. So at the airport I met Cammy, her husband, and her new toy (and yes for her it was a toy).
Goodbyes said we headed to our gate, where we checked in with the gate attendant and requested that the walker be checked through to Orlando, wheelchair in Denver, and then the knee walker at the gate when we arrived in Orlando…plus the perk of pre boarding on Southwest for both legs of our flight (even though I scored boarding group A passes when we checked in the night before). Maybe this injury will have a silver lining! Knowing that we had a tight connection in Denver and would not have time to get something to eat we picked up something while we waited to board to have on our long flight to Orlando. I ordered an “Amarillo club”, but forgot to take a picture…but think a club sandwich but with pepper jack cheese and avocados, too! The 55 minute flight to Denver was pretty uneventful...just lots of excited talk about the adventure that was ahead of us.
When we arrived to Denver, it was gate to gate treatment for Cammy, hoping to ease the VERY short connection we had to make.
Can't wait to read more! I was there at the same time as you, well for 2 days anyway!
YAY...you never know we might have ended up in each other's pictures! LOL...I had that happen my last trip!
