A DREAM is a wish your heart makes – a First-time Cruise pre-trip report complete On the cruise ! - Page 22 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We freeze lots of dinners for during the week. My DH was wondering about the breakfast sandwhichs? Do you do anything special so they don't get soggy? Could PM the breakfast cookie recipe?
Before you know it you will be "Sailing Away"
I haven't eaten any yet. I wrapped each one in saran wrap first then they went in a freezer bag.

I just added the craisans, white choc chips and sliced almonds instead of choc chips and pecans to make the other version. I also used almond extract instead of vanilla as I didn't have enough vanilla left.
We had movie night last night, as those on FB, know. I haven't loaded the pictures to Shutterfly yet though. I hope I can get to that tonight or this weekend. Getting really close now!

I see you tried some of the recipes for Skinny Mom. I have yet to make the cookies, but a lot of the other stuff I've tried. Might have to make the cookies sometime soon though. Everyone seems to be interested in them...
Your cruise is fast approaching. How exciting! Are the boys getting into the movie nights? It looks like they are enjoying it, but do they realize that the trip is coming and what you will be doing? I'm thinking that Dylan probably gets it, but what about Lukas? I know Cameron knows we're going to Dizzy World. And he knows little things about it, but I still have conversations with him where I'm left thinking "oh bud you just don't get it at all". He's excited though and I know he will LOVE it!
Isn't it crazy to think how close you are to your vacation? Loved the Hawaiian pizza theme. The boys are c.r.a.z.y. for Lilo and Stitch so we "copied" your idea last night - only with grilled ham, pineapple and "honey" bread. I spread a bit of honey mixed with their vegan "butter" on bread to simulate the yummy Hawaiian sweet bread the boys can't eat. It was really nice to have a night to just "be" nowhere but home.
As for the potty training? We're struggling too. Everything was going really well until school started back up. Now Cullen is REFUSING to use the potty at all, for anything. He has the strength of Hercules and can hold #1 in until he's dead asleep at night, which causes quite the mess every night. For him, I think it's a "don't want to be back at school" thing.

I missed the update on FB, but saw it on Instagram. Dinner looked delicious!
It was good!

The cookies are pretty good. Mike's been eating quite a few of them.
The boys, especially Dylan, get into the movie nights - whether they know the trip is coming or not. And yesterday we started another countdown and I'm thinking that will help them know it's really getting close.

It is crazy that we're so close. Considering we booked this a year ago - it's been a long wait! Sounds like you had a nice night too.
Lukas can hold it too, so I know how you feel. Although he will go #1, but the other he can hold a week at a time. Mike had to get him on his lunch break Thursday, take him home so he could go, and then brought him back to daycare. I hope they both outgrow this soon!
Looks like a great day at the Japanese Festival. Love the Beauty and the Beast themed menu....the gray stuff is delicious....lol
You got a lot done, I used to freeze meals as well, made it so much easier, now I just leave the cooking to Jasmine she had been cooking for years now, she says I get home from home to late and they would starve so she has become the weekday cook lately.

I look forward to the days when the boys can cook.
This week’s movie night was on Thursday because Fri-Sun was full with soccer, Cardinals game & family. The movie was Lilo & Stitch and we had Hawaiian pizza, chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies, and mango smoothies. It was tasty and quite the hit!
Saturday, Dylan had his first game with his new soccer team. He even got to play a goal for a bit, but unfortunately let the first goal for the other team in. I was proud he tried to stop it with his hands and not just kick it away. His team did end up winning 7-3 though. From the game we went to the baseball game, which they won (and ended up sweeping those Pirates over the weekend). GO CARDS! Back in 1st place! Sunday we got together with Mike’s parents and heard about their trip to Disney last week.
warming up before the game
he's #4
Lukas being silly
I was able to piece together my version of a smashbook (type of scrapbook) for the trip so I’m happy with that. I also bought some little things like toothbrushes, smaller containers for shampoo, etc, and car charger for our phones & Kindles, etc. at Five Below. That place ROCKS! I’m thinking more packing will happen this weekend.
And we started another countdown on Saturday. We’ll take a Mickey head off everyday until it’s time to leave! (This is the other side of the 100 days to Star Wars Weekends countdown – which we’ll be using again next year.)
