We Can Fly, We Can Fly, We Can Fly......We Flew Trip Report - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What a busy, but fun day at Sea World. Glad you and Abby were able to enjoy Atlantis without much wait. I am surprised that you cannot go see the penguins without waiting for the ride....you would think it would have been smart to make a separate entrance for those people who did not want to go through the attraction.
I am so glad you started your trip report and all seemed to have gone well. I know you had alot of stress leading to trip. I also love all of the details and photos you are putting into your TR.

Sounds like a good day at Sea World. You can't see the penguins unless you ride the ride?? That's terrible. I'd been wanting to go to SW mostly for the Antarctic exhibit, but if this is the case, I'll just stay at Disney!
Sounds like you all got a lot of fun in at Sea World even though you had to deal with some rain and heat. Hot days like that can be so draining so I'm not surprise you all needed extra fluids. Watching Tangled at the pool sounds so relaxing.
So glad y'all enjoyed the trip to SW! We haven't been since my kids were young; the grands have never been. Guess we will have to include a day there when we go next June. Can't wait to hear more! Love the pics!
Nice to see you enjoyed SW> We have yet to try it. Autumn has Autism too, and does not like to "touch" anything "odd". I am going to share your trip report maybe it will change her mind.
Yay! I found your trip report! Welcome back, Darlene!
Sorry the first day was rough with Lenny, but glad to hear he's able to move on once you're settled! I love how happy Abby looks in all the first day photos. It's obvious she was going to have a good time no matter what!
Okay, I have to backtrack and read your second day now! Keep 'em coming! I love all the detail you include in your reports. I haven't managed to keep up my pre-trip report, so I'm hoping maybe I can do an actual trip report once I get back. I'll have to read the tutorial about posting photos to the forum.
Just joining in. Sorry your morning at the airport was difficult with Lenny. The flight being on time even tho you left late was a nice surprise!! I know it's frustrating when things don't go exactly as planned. Again, sorry your second morning started off rough, but your day at Sea World sounded really nice! I haven't been in 13 years. I do want to take my girls one day. A relaxing evening to end a day is always good!!

Oh you gave me a chill when you talk about your daughter being lost! It's so good when they listen to the super important things right ?
We spent one day at SW this trip-our first ever and it was good but difficult for me since I'm used to the Disney way of things lol...but everyone had a good time in the end. *i was thinking the same things about the shamu show and when we got back to the resort I spent the night on google looking things up..

You sure accomplished alot at SW, I really like all the pictures. I know the day we went it was at the beginning of our trip and so hot it really tired us out.
Darlene I LOVE your pics! Looking at them as I was reading your TR is like being there with you, Abby, and Lenny. (except the grumpy parts...lol)
I didn't think you were slow about texting...in fact the phone I had before this iphone I had the same way of texting that you do now. By the time I got this new phone, I could text pretty good with the number buttons! : )
I can't wait to read the next chapter! I know I have to make type up my TR. I am hoping to do it this weekend!
I so enjoyed the time of meeting you Three! It was nice to talk to another, actual other person..... and a mother to boot! : )
<~~~~ waiting patiently for the next installment! : )

Sounds like you had a mostly good day at Sea World. I haven't been there for a couple of years. One of the things I liked was that you could just walk in and see the penguins. Sorry to hear that that changed. It's good to know that Abbie was listening when you told her what to do if she got lost.
My daughter worked at Sea World of Ohio when it was still here and one of her jobs was selling the fish that people fed the dolphins. One of her favorite things was visiting the dolphins after she got off work.

Great pictures! Looks like you had a good time at Seaworld. We have not been there yet, maybe our next trip.
Abby looks like she was enjoying herself and I liked the picture of Lenny feeding the dolphins.
