As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Love the photo of Emily and Stitch that you took (I'm guessing it 's yours - no border ) - it's so sweet! You had lots of great pics of the parade too! What a busy day you've had.

What a great day so far I know I would love to try 50's PTC but I'm not sure how Aiden would react to someone teasing him or making him stand in the corner lol maybe I should try it anyway and just enjoy someone else telling him to eat all his food lol
Great day, and I am impressed with the number of rides you accomplished in such a short time - and with a sit-down lunch! Crowd levels must've been low?
Just got caught up. It looks like you have had a wonderful trip so far. I'm so glad you were able to go to MNSSHP another night!
Your lime margaritas in a can look fantastic. Is it beer flavored lime margarita or just lime margarita. I am pregnant now, but those look like something great for after the baby is born!! Haha!
What a great husband you have! Scott is pretty awesome I'm so sorry you got rained out but happy that you got to still be able to go during your trip. Florida weather is so unpredictable! We just make plans and hope for the best lol
you snuck in here!! Yes - he is a good guy (for the most part! ) -
yes this trip had the most rain we have had on a trip in a long time - usually we just go with the flow, but this was a bummer as we were really looking forward to this!
Just saw your message on FB - will send you my cell as well - I am sneaking on here to respond here - as SCott is setting up tree!

Thanks - we did accomplish a lot - we use FP as much as possible - the crowds were pretty low that day too - I was so surprised that we found curb seating for the parade 10 minutes before it started! I think everyone was at Epcot! LOL!

Thanks! The drinks - well they are interesting - they certainly have a bit of taste of each! But keep in mind that apparently they have way more alcohol than just a beer

After a quick break and change of clothes (it was a hot day – so we wanted to put on dry clothes) we headed back out to Epcot. It was gonna be another night of tasting around the world!!! And this time, Emily was going to have company! Early 2011 Emily had expressed interest in a pen pal ~ so I thought what better place to find one for her than PP!! So she was connected with Graygables daughter! They are close in age and have quite a few common interests. Emily was able to meet Bree in person last summer for a day at AK and they acted like old friends! So this time we were meeting up with her at Epcot while her mom was rehearsing for Candlelight Processional.
Of course, when we entered Epcot, we stopped for some Photopass photos ~ we had a fantastic photographer! I forgot to write down his name – but he was hysterical and had us do some fun poses!
Then we started making our way towards World Showcase to get started tasting!!
Along the way – we stopped for a few photos…..
First stop was Hawaii – where we had a Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise (again, we ordered just one and all 3 shared bites). And Scott had a Longboard Lager Beer.
Next was Canada for some Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup!
Emily had gotten a text from Bree that she was coming through the International Gate, so we were off to find her! The girls found each other, hugs were exchanged and we were off for more tasting!!!
France was next – Emily wanted more Escargots and Crème Brulee ~ apparently, Bree had never tried Escargots – and Emily convinced her to try one – and she actually really liked it!
While in France, we spotted a Photopass Photographer, so took advantage!!!
Scott was now in the mood for some Belgium – where he grabbed some Steamed Mussels in Hoegaarden Beer Broth with Baguette and a Leffe Blonde Beer (I did not share this……no mussels for me! )
The girls wanted to stop in Japan where they got the Sukiyaki Beef Pan and then also grabbed a Japanese Soda.
Scott and I went to the Florida Local booth again – as he wanted another beer from here, but they were out of the Key West Southernmost Wheat ~ so I had a Florida White Sangria and we shared a Florida Shrimp Ceviche with Fire Roasted Vegetables, Fried Plantains and Cilantro ~ this was INCREDIBLE!!!!
Next stop was the Hops & Barley booth, where we grabbed a Linda Bean’s Perfect Maine Clam Chowder and a Pumpkin Mousse with Ocean Spray Craisins Brand Dried Cranberries and Orange Sauce ~ this was just okay for me.
The girls stopped in Italy for the Cannoli al Cioccolato – neither of them shared this – they each got their own!
Next, Scott was feeling the craving for some German – so he stopped in Germany and had (all to himself!) Roast Bratwurst in a Pretzel Roll and then made a pit stop back at the Brewer’s Collection for a Schofferhofer Weizen beer.
The girls and I headed over to the Cheese booth – and they shared a cheese platter and I had my own platter which consisted of: Beecher’s Flagship Reserve Cheddar, La Bonne Vie Goat Brie, Rogue River Creamery Echo Mountain Blue Cheese. I also had a glass of the Sterling Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc ~ which was very nice!
We continued making our way around the world and our next stop was in China (the girls needed a potty break by now!) and Scott and I grabbed an order of the Pork Potstickers (the girls also shared an order of these) and I also had a glass of Francis Ford Coppola Su Yuen Riesling – this was just okay for me – the potstickers were YUM!
Now we found ourselves in Norway – and the girls wanted to ride Maelstrom – so off we went!
Of course we came off; they couldn’t resist a photo op with the Troll!
Then we went over to Mission Space – apparently another first for Bree – she had never ridden Mission Space! Emily was amazed that someone who lives in FL has not done some of the things at Disney!!!
After returning from Space, it was getting close to closing time and time for us to return Bree to her mom ~ so Emily and I walked Bree over to the Yacht and Beach Club (where she was being picked up) and Scott went to get the rental car and he would meet us at Y&BC.
After the girls said their good-byes – and I had a brief moment to say hello to “Graygables”, we were off to DTD to spend an hour at Disney Quest! This was a HUGE perk of the Premium Annual Pass – (normally I wouldn’t even consider going into DQ not wanting to spend the $$ to get in there, not to mention, I really can’t stand arcades for much more than an hour or so).
Emily and Scott played a few of the old style arcade games, including Donkey Gong – and then all 3 of us did the Magic Carpet thing – I just couldn’t figure it out!! No idea what I was doing there! LOL!!!
After another fun-filled tasty day, we returned to SSR and crawled into bed!!
Up Next: do we finally get to meet Mary?

Looks like a great morning/afternoon at DHS. Love the character pictures. The meatloaf is my favorite thing at 50's PTC. A great evening eating around the World at Epcot. So many yummy choices!!
When you head to WDW in a few weeks, if you go on GMR again, ask the CM if they are running the Western scene. They tend to run it during busier times and on the weekends.
Enjoying your photos a lot, especially the F&WF ones. I like that you document the food stand, menu AND a photo of the food itself along with your comments. You all seem relaxed and happy, and seem to accomplish so much without much hassle. Great that Em has a local friend she can hang out with.
