As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great day. I'd love to see Dug & Russell!
Enjoying seeing the fun you're having as I am now overwhelmed with the news. Escapism is sometimes good, right?
Great couple of days! You got to sample so much at F&WF, all of your pics made me so hungry I'm loving your pics from AK!
Thanks!

Tonight was supposed to be another exciting night for us! It was time for the Mickeys Not so Scary Halloween Party ~ and it had been 6 years since the last time we were able to attend one of these!
So after we showered and got ready we were out of the room by 5 and heading over! We parked at the TTC and took the ferry over.
Emily waiting for the ferry ..
When we arrived at MK, we went through the party turnstiles and got our bracelets. We wanted to get dinner out of the way so that once the party started, we could focus on that.
Of course we stopped for a Photopass photo along the way and you can see the tees that we had made.
The skies were starting to look a bit scary .
We chose Cosmic Rays for dinner
Scott & I each had the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries, Emily had the Grilled Chicken Sandwich (I should have gotten that ..my burger was not so good which was unusual for this place we usually really enjoy our food here so it was disappointing).
After filling our bellies, we still had a bit of time before the party was to start and I wanted to be in Frontierland when it did so that we could immediately get in line for the Seven Dwarfs, so we headed that way and made a pit stop at Pirates of the Caribbean for a ride!
When we came out of the ride into the gift shop the shop was PACKED!!!! It was POURING out!!! Like monsoon ridiculous downpour!! After about a half hour, it started to let up a little bit so Scott braved it and put on his poncho and started heading to where the Seven Dwarfs were supposed to be. Hhe called me when he got there to say that a line had already started forming and he was getting in there were about 20 people in front of him he wanted us to head down that way, but hang out in the gift shop just before the stairs to Splash so that we could stay dry while waiting.
So Em and I fashioned our ponchos and made a dash for it!
I called Scott when I got down there and he said that a manager had said that they thought they would be able to start in about 30 minutes. 15 minutes later, it started thunder and lightning and torrential rain again. This was not looking nor sounding good at all.
Scott came up to the gift shop after about another 20 minutes and shared that the same manager had told them that Guest Services was probably going to start giving out refunds or new tickets for another night as it was now not looking good for quite some time on the radar, so we started making our way towards the front of the park.
While we were heading that way, we realized that Tinker Bell was inside her new area, so Scott suggested Emily & I get in line for that and he would continue to Guest Services to find out what was going on.
While we were in line for Tinker Bell, Scott called and said that the line for Guest Services was all the way to the flag pole and they were indeed giving tickets for another night, he was going to wait in the line and told us to continue to wait and see Tinker Bell as it appeared he would be there for a while.
So after about a 30 minute wait, Emily & I got to meet Tinker Bell in her new Winter attire! She was so CUTE!!!
Then we met Periwinkle!!! She is just adorable!!!
After our meeting with the Sassy Tink and her sister, we called Scott and he was still waiting in line it was moving slow he suggested that we go over and meet Mickey & Minnie as he heard they were in the Theater in their Halloween attire. I felt bad that he was standing in line in the pouring rain and was not going to meet the characters, but he insisted that I keep myself and Emily dry and busy while he waited.
So off we dashed to the theater, cutting through all the gift shops along the way to stay dry!
We got in and there was about a 30 minute wait, we were hopeful that we would wait and Scott would make it
He did not .
But we met Mickey and Minnie and they looked absolutely adorable in their Halloween Costumes.
After our meet and greet with them, we came out and called Scott, he was still in line .he suggested trying to do another meet and greet with the Princesses and he would call if needed. So we went back in and joined the line for the Princesses (the Princes were with them!) the line was about a 45 minute wait, but we were staying dry. While we were in line, they announced that they were bringing the villains into one of the other rooms but there was no way that Emily and I would do that to Scott he loves the villains so we stayed in the Princess line. About 30 minutes into our wait, Scott called; he needed us to come over as the CMs were going to want our wristbands. So we got out of line and met up with him at the Guest Services but this time (it had been a couple hours now) he was just on the stairs at Guest Services. I had suggested to him that maybe we could make it to DTD for a bit and go to Disney Quest he liked that idea and said to go ahead and head there on the bus and he would catch up with us so we gave our wristbands to him and headed out
The CMs at the gate filled Emilys bag with candy on the way out!!!
When Emily and I were on the bus to SSR (figured we would then grab the bus to DTD or take the boat), I checked my Disney app and found that DQ was closing at 10, it was 9:45. I called Scott to let him know that we were just heading to the room.
Scott was on his way to the car with new party tickets for Monday night (there was another party on Friday night, but the weather was not looking promising for then either, and I really try to stay away from those things on weekend nights!). He shared that he was escorted out of MK by Security!!! We got a good laugh about that but it made sense, as you could easily see people trying to exchange or get refunds for their tickets, then still hang around to do all inside stuff which of course then made me feel guilty for doing what we did but Em & I did leave before Scott physically made it into the Guest Services building.
He made it back to the room around 11:30. And we called it a night!!
Up next: its a Hollywood kind of day!!!

Boo on the weather! Glad you got a few meet and greets in before you had to leave. And I'll echo the sentiment that Scott is a keeper! What a nice guy waiting in line. My DH is pretty fab, but I don't think he'd do that!

Looks like you had a great morning at AK and some quality pool time. Sorry that your party got rained out. At least you did get to meet the fairies and Mickey and Minnie.
Wow! What a story. But, so nice of Scott to wait for the ticket refunds while you and Emily did some character greets. At least it wasn't a total wash out.
We love breakfast at Tusker House, too! Looks like you all had fun at AK! So sorry that you all got rained out of MNSHHP, but glad you all had another night that you could go. I love you t-shirts and Emily's skirt is so cute.
Such a bummer about the weather, but glad you at least had some good photo-ops!
it was a bummer - but we made do with what we could

What a great husband you have! Scott is pretty awesome I'm so sorry you got rained out but happy that you got to still be able to go during your trip. Florida weather is so unpredictable! We just make plans and hope for the best lol
We slept in a little this morning (I believe 8ish?) and had waffles in the room for breakfast before heading out for Hollywood Studios!
Of course, after entering the park, we stopped for one of those lovely Photopass Photo op!!
Then we went straight up to the hat as I knew the characters were due to be out!!!
There were many fun friends all around – we got in line for Stitch first! He is always so much fun ~ and of course, he is one of both mine and Em’s favorites!
After meeting with Stitch, the characters were going in for a break, so we went to the Great Movie Ride – this is always fun – although I still have never gotten the western version that I keep hearing about in other TR’s – always the same ol’ gangster one! As much as I love this ride, I do wish they would do some updates to it.
After exiting the GMR, it was time to start lining up for our friends! I was excited to see them in their Hollywood finest! (I had gotten a sneak peek for they went in for break).
First up was Donald & Daisy!
Next, Chip ‘n Dale ~ they were hysterical as usual!!! They thought it was absolutely hysterical to autograph Em’s sneakers!!!
And then ~ Goofy & Pluto!!!
After our Celebrity style meet and greets and a few more photopass family photo ops, we headed to Voyage of the Little Mermaid – LOVE that show!!!
Now it was time for our lunch ADR ~ 50’s Prime Time Café – this was a first for us (neither Scott nor Em were too interested in this one, as neither of them like to be “bothered” while they eat ~ but I think they enjoyed themselves!).
After checking in and getting our pagers, we sat in the living room – and Scott and I reminisced about how familiar all the furniture/décor was and how his grandparents still had some of it in their home!!! Of course, Emily had no idea why it was so funny to us!
After a short wait, we were led to our table and met Cousin Richard. I think he sensed that Emily was a bit nervous and he was pretty easy on her for the most part – except telling her to put away that phone!! LOL!!
Emily and I shared the Meatloaf – which was YUMMY!!!!! Only have a pic of half of it – as I forgot to take a photo before we split it!
Scott had the Fried Chicken and a beer – he really enjoyed both!!! Emily had a piece of his chicken too! I also had a few bites –the two meals was plenty for the 3 of us – plus we were saving room for desert!!
For desert, I had the Smores that I had heard so much about………..OMG!!!! LOVED IT!!!!!
Emily had the Brownie Sundae………someone should have warned us how LARGE this was!!!! Holy HUGE!!!!
And Scott had the Raspberry Cheesecake.
After some MAJOR full bellies, we walked over to the Back Lot tour – Scott really enjoys this show/ride.
Then we headed over to Lights, Motor, Action (we had missed seeing Lightning McQueen last summer – so we wanted to see him in the show!).
Then it was onto Star Tours – this is one of Em’s favorites at this park.
Next stop was a favorite for all 3 of us – Toy Story Mania!!!
Then it was getting close to 3:00, so we decided that we would watch the Pixar Pals Parade and found a piece of curb to rest our hinnies on and believe it or not – Emily and I had another snack!!! I had a Mickey ice cream sandwich and she had a frozen Pineapple bar.
After the parade, we headed over for some Rock ‘n Roll…………….and rode RRC!!! This is a favorite for all as well!! (starting to think the whole dang property is a favorite for all of us?!?!).
After our limo ride, Scott went for a few drops on the ToT (he forgot to grab the Photopass+ card from me - so no photo ) – Emily still has no desire to go back on this ride, and I am not going to force her – I just hope that someday she will decide to ride again…………me, it scares the crap out of me, but I will go on if she goes on!!!
Now, it was time for a quick break back at the room, so we headed back to SSR.
Up next: some more tasting and a PP meet (sort of) for Em!
