As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Love the pictures of your kids and how they have grown. They are so adorable! We live in Georgia so we always drive (about 6.5 hrs). I always plan to try to get to WDW around 8 p.m. It gives me time in the morning to get things done and then when we get there we can enjoy the resort a little, get unpacked and a good nights sleep. It is the best to wake up in the "bubble" and be ready for the magic! I hope you like it too. I also love the way Stich showed up at your house!
Off to a great start! I'm glad you got the flights squared away!
Thanks Heather!! It's a new thing for us going later in the day.....I hope it all works out OK in the end.

They sure are. It's sad to see them grow so quick, but also fun too.

I love the pics from the past. Josie was so little!. And we both know our 'little' boys were never little.
That's actually not a bad idea
Yeah, little??? Don't really remember that

Thanks Cam. I do all the lurking for the flights, but in the end I have to leave that one up to Arnaud too

Both your kids are very cute! It's so fun with them in WDW.
Love the story behind how Josie got her Stitch fluffy, very cute!
Yeah, I wish the credits could just combine.....so then I could use them all on a girly get away or something, right??

I'm glad you like the later arrival. I see how it can be more laid back, I'm hoping for that.
4 Weeks from today we will be flying the friendly skies!! YEAH!
We “try” not to make any die hard plans for our trips, but with little ones we have to have some sort of game plan. So here’s what ours is…
Arrive Monday night and just get to the room and unpack, I never feel like I am on vacation until bags are unpacked and out of my sight.
Tuesday: As if getting to Disney and heading to the room just to go to sleep isn’t lazy enough, I thought I’d keep that lazy pace going and grab breakfast at CM this morning. Followed by some pool time all afternoon, with hopes of naps for both Josie and Andre. This is the first night of MNSSHP and we are going!!! Not super happy about being there for the first night, but we will give it a go. I have an early dinner ADR at LTT (which is a first for us) Also another first for us is a PP meet actually in Disney!!! We are hooking up with Cathy (Nimros) and her family this night. I am truly happy about getting to chat with her, Kevin and the girls. I do not think we will make it past Hallowishes but I am OK with that. Our goals for this night would be to meet as many characters as we can and get one ride in…..HM!!!
Wednesday: Epcot day. Afternoon pool time and dinner later that night at CMC. After dinner we might stroll WS or take this time to check out Fantasia Gardens.
Thursday: EMH (AM) at the MK!!! With another real big first!!! Andre’s very first haircut EVER. Yikes!!! I am sure he will not be a happy camper, but we will give it our best shot. Afternoon pool time and then dinner a 1900PF. I hope to go back to MK this night mainly for MSEP and Wishes.
Friday: EMH (AM) at AK. My main goal here is to well……don’t judge…..try a Yak Attack. Priorities right? Afternoon pool time and then dinner at GG. Another first for us. After dinner I’d like to go back to the Poly beach and watch the party fireworks.
Saturday: Uhmmm…..nothing really, Well probably AK. I left the weekend open incase Arnaud’s sister and her family would be meeting us again this year, but they can’t, so we have nothing major planned for the day. BUT for the night we do!!!! SOA!! After I moved our ressie to the Poly and Josie’s new crush on all things Lilo and Stitch, I knew it was time to go back to this. I am not sure if Andre will make it through the whole thing, but Josie was his age when she went the first time and she did OK.
Sunday: Another PP meet!!!! I am so excited to meet up with Mel and Meri this morning. We plan to meet at 9:30 on the beach and just let the kids play while we chat. I have become close with Mel during the planning of Crissy’s bachelorette party back in Feb and I am really thrilled to meet her in person. I just know we will have a great time, and the girls will I’m sure too.
Now this afternoon is a bit open too, but looks like maybe hitting Fantasia Gardens, if we don’t go on Wednesday, or heading to DtD. Dinner tonight is a late ressie at R&C, with hopes of a nice view for Illuminations.
Monday: ADR at H&V at DHS for breakfast. This is a before park opening ADR too. Followed by again…..pool time in the afternoon. Heading to MK this night to just bounce around to whatever we choose.
Tuesday: MK for some more wandering around. Pool and then Ohana’ dinner. Fireworks from the beach are always our finale.
Wednesday: Ohana’ breakfast and then heading home.
We are on the dinning plan again this year. I really think this may be this last time too. So with that in mind I tried to put in as many character meals as we could. Also almost every meal is a buffet or family style buffet which I think works well with the little ones. We did pay OOP for SOA, but that is because I wanted Cat 1.

Are you all dressing up for MNSHHP?
Oh, yes....we are. I'll get to that next. Don't get too excited though. Remember that "lazy" theme I was talking about

Oh boy...his haircut. I just know he is going to look so much older. His hair is getting so curly in the back and looks so cuts, but it's time. I just hope he sits still
Great plans! I have found that now that we are able to go to Disney more often since joining DVC in 2009, I tend to make fewer specific plans and just try to go with the flow more.
How cool that you have 2 PP meets scheduled! That will be fun.
