We Turned Her Into A Disney Lovin', Character Huggin', Thrill Ridin' Girl! COMPLETED 7/11 - Page 37 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What a great way to end the trip, amazing day at the MK. So glad you got to enjoy the Jungle Cruise and what a wonderful visit with Mickey and Minnie, love the pictures, both Selah and Asher look so completely happy...great pictures from the fireworks too.
Thanks! It was a great end to our trip! We have always ended our WDW trip with fireworks at MK.

It was a great last moment! I think you are right, we never did cross paths. Would have been cool though to have seen ourselves in each others pics in the back ground.
Is it just me or does your son look just like the young Kris Kringle in Santa Claus is Coming to Town (the one with Burger Meister, Meister Burger)?
OMG that is a lot of stuffed animals - did you need an extra suitcase to get them all home?
WHat a great night in the MK.
That's funny. I hadn't really thought about it before but now that you mention it he does sort of look like him.
The stuffed animals, some came from home and some were purchased on this trip. Asher has always wanted to take his WDW plushes with us. Then this year it was important to him to take Selahs too. Then while we were there they got more. We had a bag just for them. Next time it will be scaled down a lot.

After we got back to the room that night the kids had their baths and we all went straight to sleep. We had a long day ahead of us the next day. Our plan for the morning was to get up and go get breakfast at the Riverside Mill. The food there was so yummy and we were wanting one more meal there. We still also had to pack, we were planning on eating at Beaches and Cream for lunch and we wanted to do a little shopping at DTD before driving all the way home. I was fine with not eating in the morning and I did not think we had time to. Unless we got up really early. I really didn't want to do that. Jamie felt like we would have time. So the next morning we got up and got ready and started packing. We had decided we would go eat after we were done loading up the car. Well, after a little while it became very evident that we were not going to make it to breakfast. So we just kept on packing. Once we were finally all packed up and had done a final look around the room to make sure we were not missing anything we headed out. We still had the stroller and with the car loaded up we could not get the stroller in there. I pushed Selah in the stroller to Riverside Mill and everyone else met us there with the car. We filled our mugs one last time, we got a little something to eat, using up the rest of our counter service credits and then we checked out and turned in the stroller. On our way out we also picked up resort pins for the kids and a few other things we had seen in the store there. Then we headed to DTD to do a little more shopping. Once we got to DTD we realized we had a little problem. That's right, you guessed it, no stroller for Selah! Well, we knew we were only going to be there for maybe an hour or so and she could walk. We got out of the car, headed into the shopping area and once in the shopping area, Selah realized we were not putting her in a stroller. Then she did something that now is really funny but in the moment, not so much. She laid down on the ground in the middle of all the people walking, face down and as stiff as a board. She did not make a sound and did not move, she just refused to walk. It was almost like she was planking! I wish I had a picture of it but in the moment we were not thinking take a picture of this, we were thinking, great, now what. We couldn't hardly lift her because she was like dead weight. She was just absolutely refusing to move. I said to Jamie that we were just going to have to go rent a stroller. He was not wanting to do that for the short amount of time that we were going to be there but he knew it was either that or carry her and that would not be fun. So we finally decide to go rent a stroller. As soon as we told her to get up so we could go get a stroller she got right up. Then when in the rental place she plopped herself right down in a stroller. The little stinker. At the time it was not funny but now... I just wish I had a picture. We got the stroller and then all was well. It was time to shop. Asher was wanting to get an inexpensive pin just so he could trade it. He had never traded any pins before and he was wanting to trade. I don't know why he waited until the last day, I guess he was just too busy with everything else. Jamie and I were wanting some picture frames and I was still wanting a t-shirt. We headed over to pin traders and Asher looked at a bunch of pins and finally decided on the mystery pins at the register. He got one and I think it was a pluto. Now he was in need of someone to trade with. Next we went to the World of Disney store and picked out a couple of picture frames and a t-shirt for me. Jamie never did find one he wanted but he did find a wind breaker that he liked a lot. While in the WoD store Asher found a CM to trade with and got a bobafett Pete pin. It was pretty cool but he was not done trading yet. He just wanted to trade for the fun of it. He found another CM a little while later and traded again. Done now? Nope, he traded one last time with another CM and ended up with a pluto. Not the same pluto though.
We finished up our shopping and ended up being there for an hour and a half. A $15 stroller rental for an hour and a half. Oh well, at least she was happy. Now we were all hungry and ready for some Beaches and Cream.
You will have to wait for that until next time though. I must go to bed now. There will be pictures in the next post too.

No picture needed of Selah planking! You described it vividly and I can just see her! Definitely worth the money for the stroller-- really no choice at that point. Pin trading is so much fun for kids! Glad you all found a few more items to cross off your lists.

Sounds like great shopping, once the stroller problem was taken care of. I think many of those "I cannot believe this is happening moments" are pretty funny once you are out of the situation and can look back at it. We have definitely had some of those moments.
Aren't children just lovely when you try to get them to do something they don't want to? Cameron goes limp on me a lot and makes it so hard to deal with him. I'd say that $15 was well spent if it allowed you to enjoy your remaining time in WDW!
