We Turned Her Into A Disney Lovin', Character Huggin', Thrill Ridin' Girl! COMPLETED 7/11 - Page 34 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Glad the carousel started moving before you had a real problem with Selah! Both she and Asher certainly look happy on those horses. Columbia Harbor House is a favorite of mine. Hope you get to try it next time.
I was glad it started moving too! She was not just crying but she was wiggling too. Columbia Harbor House is definitely on our list for next time!

I had a really great time strolling through Liberty Square and seeing all the things I am usually in too much of a hurry to see. Asher loved reading all the plaques. We really need to try and take our time more often.
back! Love the funny pictures of the kids on the carousel.
Thanks! Glad to be back! Hope you are having a wonderful time on your trip!

The pictures are the correct size now. I noticed with Photobucket that some times it takes awhile for the resized pictures to be the correct size. Don't know how to explain it better than that (as you know, I'm a photobucket novice). Anyways -they look good. I really love the before/after pics of you and Selah on the carousel. They tell the story perfectly.
Thanks! I'm glad to be back! I am going to try to get this all done in the next week! Glad you like those carousel pics. The pictures definitely tell it all!

Hello Tabitha, I am jumping aboard this TR a little late but have just spent most of last night and today reading all about your trip. It looks like everyone is having a great time, except for you and Jamie getting sick at Boma. Your kids are adorable and I love Selah's reactions to the things she is seeing and doing, especially Illuminations! Glad everyone is feeling better. Can't wait to see what your last day has in store.
Thanks for joining in! We had a great last day! More coming up soon!

A Scary Ride, A Thrill Ride and Snack Time! MK Part 3 2/3
After the boys get their picture together we decide to go see how the ghosts are doing in the Haunted Mansion. We remembered to not take the scenic route this time so we could get Selah on the ride quicker.
Once we got off the ride it was time to pick up Selahs parasol!
Then we were ready for some thrills. Off to Splash Mountain we went! Selah was very excited when she saw it up ahead. She was ready to ride!
In this pic I've just said to Selah, "Hey Selah, we are getting ready to go down the slide!"
Now here we are going down the slide!
After SM we headed over to ride with some pirates and Asher and Mimi were wanting to check out the Jungle Cruise. The Jungle Cruise has never been a must do for Jamie and I. Yes we enjoy it but if the line is long we don't want to wait for it. For us it is a, been there done that don't need to do it again, kind of ride. Asher did not remember it though and Wanda had never been on it so we were good with going on it again. After we got off of Pirates the line to Jungle Cruise was really long and so was the FP line. We THOUGHT we were suppose to get into the FP line with the GAC so we told them we would check it out later. We were going to be in the park until after the fireworks so we still had time. Once that was decided, everyone was in the mood for a snack. Asher got Dibs ( I think), the chocolate covered ice cream in an ice cream container. He wanted another Mickey Bar but he has lost a chunk of chocolate off of everyone he had on this trip and so we convinced him to try these instead. Less messy and he was wearing a white shirt. Selah got popcorn. The girl loves popcorn! Jamie got an Orange float, which was very yummy. I don't remember what Wanda got but I want to say it was roasted almonds. Actually, I'm pretty sure that was what she got. I shared with Jamie.
After snack we took a ride on some Magic Carpets, which is always a lot of fun. Got off our carpets and checked out the line for the Jungle Cruise, still long, and then headed to Main Street for some shopping. We love shopping on Main Street! Well, not Selah, but the rest of us do. She did really good though. She did lots of stickers and several cast members showered her with more stickers. We found an insulated cup for my mom. It has Mickey and Walt standing on Main Street together. It is pretty cool. I got one for myself too. We picked up Bride and Groom pins for my sister and her now husband. They got married on May 12th. Asher picked out some Mickey and Friends Pirates of the Caribbean cups that he wanted. Then we heard the street party so Asher, Mimi and Selah walked out to dance with the street party while Jamie and I looked around a little more.

I think the pictures are the wrong size again. I don't know what the problem is. Me and photobucket are just not getting along lately. Someone let me know if these are too big again and I will try to fix it.

Sounds like a perfect afternoon to me-- snacks, rides and shopping! The Splash photos of Selah are wonderful. Does she enjoy or pay attention to the rest of the ride, or just the big drop-- daredevil that she is!
What a great afternoon. Love Selah's expression going down the drop, priceless...she is definitely having a great time.
I was hoping that I was going to be able to get the picture! I really wanted everyone to be able to see what I was seeing on those rides!

At the beginning of the trip she was pretty much only paying attention to the thrill part of the rides but by the end of the week she was starting to "see" more of the rides and started enjoying more parts of the rides other than just the thrill. I have a feeling by the time we are able to go back we may have to start over at the beginning again but that's ok. As long as she loves it and is having fun!
My DS is with Selah he loooooves popcorn too! It sounds like ya'll had a great afternoon. I just looooove the photo of Selah going down the slide, the look on her face is priceless. can't wait to hear more.
