As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I love that you were "Bracelets Buddies" Evan and I were on our trip in October. We had the matching multi colored Mickey head beaded bracelets.
What a wonderful last day and great wrap up. It is over all too soon. Aren't those quiet times just so nice. Just the kids running around a playground, being kids.
Thanks for letting us all tag along.
Arnau got us those braclets 2 yrs ago and I love them. I love all the colors they always have too.
Was it you who talked about the City Mini stroller on one of the 957 stroller threads out here? I saw them all over on this trip, mostly were rented, but I am looking into selling some of the one's I have and buying one of those, and I guess if I still think I need one for Josie in the fall I could rent one. My kids are really just too big for the cheap umbrella ones you can pick up at BRU. Josie is 40lbs and Andre is now over 30lbs and almost as tall as her
Yes but next time I will remember to send them each their own card......
Can you two please stop with the crying.....I mean really. You are ruining my image
Sorry. I'll try to hold it together from now on - at least I can lie on here since you can't see my face.

I was looking around at the mobs of people and actually noticed Mike first, because he is so tall, and was like I think I know him, then I saw you walking out the door pushing a stoller. I wasn't sure if it was you, but now I can confirm it. Ugghhhh, so mad now.
I'm not gonna sweat it, I know I'll meet up with you soon
Too funny that you noticed Mike first. I'm guessing the same would go for Arnaud in the tallness - at least he seems like he'd be really tall.
I think we ate in there for the same reason. I believe it was our first stop of the night.
Yes we will!
Love the final thoughts. I shows hubby the photos of your room and the fireworks and he thought it was cool. You girls had such a great time, I'm glad you got to do it. Thanks for sharing it with us and I look forward to hearing about your adventures in September

Oh Jenn, be excited But really do take the time to enjoy the resort too. Are you in one of the RGR? I think the location of those rooms were great, really close to everything and also a close walk to POFQ too, which Josie loked walking around over there also. That side had that campfire thing too. I did find a website about the 2 resorts, I'll look back to find it, but maybe someone else could post it again. That gave me a good idea of what was going on at both places. For me not being a fan of the buses, it really never bothered me once on this trip.
Can't wait to hear about your's!!!!
Right now we are not booked in a RGR, just a standard room, but I did request that we are placed in the Mansion section. I think I just like the look of that section vs Alligator Bayou. I did consider the RGR, but Kaeli (my oldest) is growing out of the Princesses and I wasn't sure if she would think the room was too babyish. Seeing your pictures now, I'm sure she wouldn't! I'm going to contact my TA and check out the pricing. Hey, maybe they will extend fall free dining like I am hoping and I can use my savings for an upgrade
The girls and I have been watching videos on You Tube of the resort, and I really am amazed by it. I can't believe it is a mod, for all it has to offer. They want to try EVERYTHING! I think our first day will be spent checking out both POR and FQ, I know they will never let me hear the end of it if we miss anything
I just loved your entire TR What wonderful mommy/daughter time you girls had & you will have those special memories forever! I was glad to hear your take on the RGR at POR....I think I may have to look into these for our next trip. And I agree with the others when they say the pic you took of Josie should be an ad for WDW. Maybe you should sent it to them?
Thanks for taking us along and looking forward to your TR for your September trip!
Linny, I just finished reading your TR, such a sweet trip with your gal. it all, but especially the wonderful memories you two have to share for a lifetime now. so much for the donation in memory of Stefanie. She and I have a slew of those buttons. You've also gotten me curious about staying at POR or even POFQ, sometime when we're out of DVC points. Sounds beautiful! for sharing your mommy/daughter trip with all your friends here! And your absolutely right we are a family!

Linny, I know exactly how you feel about meeting friends through this board, and it KILLS me that we've come so close, but living only one state away from each other, it's going to happen sooner or later.

I know I always miss you by mere days, or even hours, but yes, we are very close and I have a feeling too I'll see you sooner than I would have thought.

OK is it just me or do we need to plan a NJ/NY passporter meet? There a several of us around. Perhaps sometime on one of the boardwalks?
Yes I did talk about the CitiMini. And I couldn't believe how many were there as rentals when we were there in October. Evan was a little over 40 lbs when we went and I used the stroller and it was still wonderful. It saved his legs a lot and I think helped to make him more agreeable because he was less tired. I really LOVE the CitiMini. So easy to fold up and set up, I could do it one handed so I could still hold onto Evan. Also they are very maneuverable. I would highly recommend them for rental or to purchase a new one. Also they handle is taller than an umbrella stroller so it didn't break my back when I ad to push it.
So I'm finally all caught up with your TR and since you finished it while I was away, I guess I'm now all finished it as well. I really really do love the "perfect" photo you took of Josie! It's definitely a keeper. You got some really great photos from your phone, and here I am trying to do the same with an expensive piece of junk. Oh well, just shows you it isn't always about the equipment.
It looks like you both had a fabulous girls trip, and I hope it's a tradition that you both share for years to come. I really cherish the girls trips I take with my mom, and now they're even more special because I can take my little girl with us too.
Oh, and I just wanted to say that I also think it's great that you gave your balloon away to a little girl. We had someone give Hope their balloon, and since it was still very much alive before we left, we passed on the tradition with another family. Sometimes it feels so good doing something nice for other people.
Great wrap up! You definitely have me convinced that I need to look into POR/POFQ for our next trip. I'm refusing values unless my mom comes with and we need the new AoA family suites. And with me taking 3 months off I don't know if we'll be able to afford a deluxe next time so POR/POFQ it is!
I'm with you in not really "getting" Instagram. I have the app and I've used it a little, but I'm not sure I know what exactly it's for. Maybe I'll have to try and find you on there. Of course I keep saying I'm going to find other PPers on Facebook and I have yet to do that. I need to keep up with this stuff better!
What a great last day and a wonderful wrap up. What a very special trip this was and I am so glad that you decided to do it. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Great TR, pictures and final thoughts!!! Oh and I love the city mini! We got one for Sam 3 trips ago because of his height and the ease of the stroller. We have had no complaints! Now they have come out with the City mini GT which goes higher on the weight and the height.
