PTR....Universal Adventures of Dreams and an Expanding world part 2 - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I have eyed some really cute DCL themed dresses and skirt outfits. The one I really liked is like $75 and I can't justify paying that much for what it is, but it is really darn cute.
Well don't keep me in suspense --do you have a link so we (I) could see it?
I don't LOL! Actually it's a friends picture of her DD in the dress and she gave me the info, which I have burried in my emails. It was a cute black sundress with a golden Mickey on it. I know it's a lot of work to do, but it just didn't seem to be worth $75 to me.
Day 2 will be Nov. 4th. Our sail date. I'm sure I'll be up at the crack of dawn. I can't sleep well on vacation, mostly due to all the excitement. At home.. I can take 2 or 3 naps a day if you let me.
I'm sure I'll be one of the first up with my gang. I'll most likely go for a walk and get some breakfast.
After awhile, I'll get Claire up. And we'll get ready and she'll get a bite to eat as well.
Last trip on the Dream, Claire got a daily gift from a character. I am thinking of NOT doing that this time. It was kind of hard for me to remember to leave it out daily...especially as the trip went on. And this trip is now looking to be at least 10 days long. Also with other kids in our party, I don't plan on doing this for all of them, as it could get costly, so I don't want them to feel left out either. I did tell Claire already that she shouldn't expect to get little gifts this time because it's too hard for the characters to give a gift to each when you have a large group. We'll be antsy to get to the ship. It would be nice if we get a room with a view like we did last time, but if we don't, thats fine too.
I am hoping we get an early boarding time. I will be going crazy waiting to get on the ship.
Eventually we will head over. I am still working this out, but we will have 4 vehicles to turn in. I am thinking the best thing would be to drive over to the port and drop off everyone and the luggage and then 1 person per vehichle take them back to Hertz and shuttle over to the port. This makes the most since to me.
We'll get checked in and ready for a busy day.
Hopefully we'll see a few characters hanging out.
Once we board, we'll see where they direct us for lunch...but my choice is Cabanas!
You know I'll be having some of these!!!
Ok, I'll have some normal food too.
Hopefully it won't be raining today. Last year our boarding day was non stop rain, which made exploring the decks a bit hard to do.
If it's nice, we may head to the pool area till our rooms are ready.
The slide was a big hit with Claire last year.
Maybe we'll even hit the.......
When the time arrives, we'll go to our cabins and drop off the carry ons and check out or new digs for the next few days.
Claire and I have our own room this trip, but we should be connecting to my parents room.
I love how you are including pictures from your last trip--cute idea!
Another wardrobe question--where did you get those t-shirts with the tie-dye mickeyheads? I bet even my "fashion-shy" gang would wear those--but not all at the same time... They're "too cool" for that. Party-poopys.

I had a girl on the Dis boards make them, but she is on etsy too. If you want I can try to find her id name. You can search on etsy for tie dye shorts too.
I have started fooling with it a bit myself, but haven't perfected the Mickey head yet. Well I haven't perfected anything yet. LOL
After we check out our rooms we'll do whatever we feel like. Explore the ship, look for characters, etc till its time for the muster drill and head off there.
After the Muster drill we'll head to the deck (hopefully it's not raining this time!!!!) And watch the sail away party.
If it's raining, we already know the drill...go to the Atrium.
I plan to watch us sail out this time as well....and with luck, I'll get that wish. We had left late last cruise because of the rain. The sail away party was late (and in the Atrium) and then when we started to sail ,it was no big deal, all of a sudden we were sailing. We were just heading down to the show and noticed us moving. Sadly we had to get going or miss the show, but no one was along the shore waving to us with the rain and it being so late.
We have early dinner this time, not by my choice. I liked having late dinner last trip and at home we eat late usually as well. My sister and my cousin both wanted that to get their little ones to bed early...they don't have the party animal blood in their kids like Claire has.
I have no clue where dinner will be since we don't find out till we board, but heres a little food porn from Enchanted Garden.
After dinner we'll probably shop a bit then head to the show.
And BTW, they no longer allow any picture taking in the shows, which totaly bums me out.
After the show. we'll bum around. Maybe get a snack, go on the AD or take a swim.

Sure, if you have the time, that would be great. I'm looking for affordable, since I'll be needing 7 of them. But they still have to be "cool"...whatever that is this week for the teenagers in the family.

I hope so. Of course, everything can change in an instant once you board. I make plans then then don't remember a single one when the excitement takes over.

Before going on with planning, I thought I would post some pictures of non Disney related things.
Here are a few from Easter.
I finally got a more recent picture of ALL 3 kids together. There were some grumbles, but Michael even copperated.
My little niece Abby. She will be going on the cruise with us. She looks angelic in this picture, but she is a little pistol. We are hoping she calms down a bit by sail date...or her meals might be solely at the kids club. LOL
This is my other niece with Paige and Claire. She's Abby's sister and will also be going on the crusie with us.
And Skip and I. Terrible picture. I look so fat...and he couldn't look at the camera to save his life. Paige took about 6 pictures of us and in everyone he looked away or was talking.
My girls
And this is where we ate. It's called Nazareth Hall. It used to be a Catholic military school. My Dad actually attended here his 7th and 8th grade years. He likes to take us around and show us his classrooms and dorm area.
And Claire early Easter morning. My house is a wreck because Claire's room is still being worked on, so I had a lot of her stuff pulled out into the living room.
Great pictures of all your family--such beautiful smiles!
Thanks.
I actually started doing some more tie dying the other day too. I am making tiedye hankerchiefs for my Fish Extender group exchange so I decided to get a head start now. I've only done 3 so far...I had to refresh my memory. If I get some time, I'll do a couple more today...well start them...as it take a day of soaking with dye on before you see how they look.
