Come sail away, Come sail away, Come sail away with me TR Completed 2/8/2012 - Page 22 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Such a cute pirate family! The photo of Josie looking fierce had me She's just so adorable! I've heard about the prices at Pink. It's a good thing it was a surprise or you'd never have gone for it and it sounds like you both had a nice time.

You all look so adorable in your pirate gear, and speaking of adorable, yes, that bathing suit looked great on you! Nuff said! Sounds like you had some nice alone time with your hubs and your reaction to the check was exactly the same reaction I had to mine at 1900 PF. I think I must have misread the prices on allearsnet.com, so when it came I almost fell over. But you're right, you're on vacation and sometimes you just need to let it go. Even though it's easier said than done.
Sounds like a fun night! I love your pirate gear! This picture is my favorite
It's because of little Andre. Those chubby cheeks and that little tongue! I find myself wanting to take a little bite out of him! Keep him away from me.

What a great day at CC - love the shots from the beach of the kids, the one of Andre sleeping is adorable, and Andre and Josie both looked like they were having a great time in the water.
Love the shots from pirate night, your family picture is great. Glad that you and Arnuad could enjoy some one on one time...
Sounds like you had a wonderful day on CC and a nice relaxing Pirate party night (even if the champagne was ridiculously expensive).
It really was stupid expensive. We went to a swanky club/lounge in Paris before and the champagne wasn't even as pricy as that was.

Now that Josie is old enough that we have to pay for her, we walked out of CMC from dinner paying over $100. Dining plan it is for us from now on

Yeah, his poor cheeks take quite a beating from me everyday.

Thank you.
Our time was sweet.........expensive, but sweet
We got Josie from the club and then headed up to the upper deck for a spot to watch the fireworks. We settled in to a cozy little nook and bot was it getting windy. Before the explosions they had some dancers out on the stage and some music going off and before you knew it, there came the fireworks……and we were directly underneath of them!
I think back now about it and wonder if it would have been better to be on the other side of the deck, I had no clue which side they would be on, but if I had to do it again, I would choose the other side. They were loud and really cool. Not like being at the MK but come on …………we were at sea and these puppies were being shot of the side of a ship! Pretty cool I must say. The show was short and right after they went into the dance party. It was late at this point and I wanted to get out of there to grab my boy and get all settled in for bed. We had a long day, but tomorrow would be a full day at sea with no real plans other than to ride the Aquaduck again but this time with my man.
Wednesday Oct 19th Today was a sea day and we had no real plans. We got up and had room service again and just strolled around the ship for a bit before heading down to the pool. This day was odd….it was warm, but really cloudy and crazy windy. We set up by the Mickey pool and headed back and forth between there and Nemo’s Reef. Andre wasn’t allowed in the pool because he is still in a diaper, but I was sitting at the edge of the pool holding him and just about got hit in the head with a flying lounge chair that then landed in the pool! I told you it was windy. CM’s came running over to start moving chairs around and taking care of the problem. Really all they needed to do was lay the chairs flat. It was when they were upright and no one was in them that is would make them fly around so much. However after that little episode, I thought maybe we should just vacate the scene and go off to do some other things……………Goofy Golf!!
Now this wasn’t really the best idea either. Golf, in the wind, with a 4yrold…………………..HILARIOUS!!! Just take a look.
So after that round of golf we set off to so the Mid Ship Detective agency. Apparently the rest of the ship had the same idea. This was really cool and I am looking forward to doing the new Sorcerer one in the MK. You have to go and check in and get your card and map, from there you are set free to go about your mission.
We never did finish it, after a while Josie was losing interest because you really have to run all over the ship from one place to another. The cool thing is that you can finish it at your own pace. Maybe we should have started this on the first day of the cruise.
From there we went off to grab lunch at Cabana’s followed by driping BOTH kids off in their appropriate clubs. Andre would be napping while Miss Josie pants went to play with “her friends”. Anyone she meets, she calls them her friend. I may have to worry about her in the future.
Next order of business………riding the Aquaduck with Arnaud and spending some time in the “adult” pool.
