As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). I know most DVC one bedroom villas say they sleep 4 plus one under 3, but is it ok to have an additional person? We're going with 4 adults, a 4 (almost 5 at the time) year old, and an almost 2 year old (at trip time). I believe they allow this but just don't provide extra bedding. We're looking into AKLV (which this should be ok with since at Kidani they say sleep 5), BWV, or OKW.
Regardless of sleeping accommodations, DVC will allow 5 occupants of any age into any One Bedroom Villa. (The one possible exception to this is AKV Value where it's supposedly max of 4, although I've heard of people being allowed 5 occupants.)
DVC is not supposed to allow 5 PLUS one under the age of three. Six total occupants are not permitted. Max is 5 regardless of age or resort.
Well I've sent an email to Member Services to be sure. Other sites report that the ones that sleep 5 (AKL non value & OKW) plus a child under 3. I also tried to book a room online and could get a 1 bedroom at AKV (non-value) or OKW with that amount of people.
We stayed in a one bedroom at the BW with 5 even though it states 4, there were 2 adults, 2 teens and 1 girl age 9 and they gave us no problem, they just said that they would not provide bedding for the extra guest but we had no issues, there were three pillows on the bed, two in sofa and the girls had pillow pets...there was more than enough bedding to go around.

But she's talking about six people. Five can stay in 1 bedrooms now.
While sleeping accommodations do factor into the # of ppl allowed in a room, the real reason is a Life Safety Code issue. These #'s are set via a mathematical equation that represents the time it takes to vacate a room IF something like a fire would occur.
Just one extra person in a few rooms could mean the dif between everyone making it our safely and one person NOT. While ppl may think "its just a baby, or its only one person whats the big deal", Disney is ultimately responsible, and no value can be placed on a loss of a life.
I would suggest getting 2 studios, a 2 bedroom or a family suite.
This is the message I sent to DVC: How many people are allowed in a one bedroom? On a trip we're planning,
we will have 4 adults, one child, and an an infant. Is it ok for all of
us to stay in a one bedroom villa?
And this is the response I got today: We appreciate your interest in a DISNEY VACATION CLUB Resort. While
suggested occupancy for a One Bedroom Villa is four Guests, Members may
reserve One Bedroom Villas for up to five Guests. However, Cots and
rollaway beds are NOT available at any DISNEY VACATION CLUB Resort.
Additionally, no additional bed linens, towels, utensils, or other
amenities will be provided for the fifth Guest.
As long as the youngest child is an Infant under 3 years old, your party
size can be accommodated in a 1 Bedroom Villa.
So 5 plus a child under 3 is ok, according to DVC.

The Kidani one bedroom villa that sleeps five has 2 bathrooms, a living room and bedroom so 6 people could squeeze into such a room. It would take a bit of moving of furniture and you probably would have to put a pack n play in the bedroom. With 3 kids in the living room you should be fine. It is a lot like the family suites at All Star Music where you have one bed and a sofa bed and a chair futon bed.
Mom calls to check on me and reminded me to pay the gardener. I love her so much.
Disneyland was fun with flag retreat and pickles. I have a home here, thank you. GAC is NOT a "front of the line pass".
