Twas The Night Before Disney...(TR 12/2 - 12/9) - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We woke up about 6am and got ready for the day. We went down to WCC for our breakfast ADR. It sure was yummy!! Rob and I both had the Canyon Skillet.
After breakfast we headed on over to Hollywood Studios...The ride over there wasnt so good. the bus was packed and not one adult got up to give my children a seat - One lady even had a backback taking up a seat. I hate that - I would never do that. But we werent going to let that get us down.
Here is the tree there -
We headed right over to TOT..I finally got over my fear and went on it!! YAY!!
I dont know who was more scared on it...The kids or me I did enjoy it though and the kids were laughing on the way out so it was all good!! The big baby in blue is me
After TOT Josh and I also got to ride RRC for the first time. We LOVED it!! What an awesome ride!!
After we headed over to the Brown Derby for lunch. We had gotten the Fanatsmic Dinner package. Our food there was yummy!! We had the Cobb Salad for an Appy and we both got the Filet of beef, Josh had the Grilled cheese and Sam a hot dog.....I wish I had some more right now!! For dessert Rob had the Banana White Chocolate Toffee Tower. He liked it very much!
I had the warm berry cobbler - It was good too!!
Sam had the Hidden Treasure.
After we headed over to the Lights, Motor, Action show. Loved the Add in of McQueen!!!
After this we head of to the Backlot tour, Toys Story, and a few others. We stopped and got some popcorn in these neat buckets.
We headed over to Fantasmic about 5:45. The show started at 6:30 - This was our first time seeing it and we loved it!! What a great show.
When it was over we had a ADR over at Sci Fi. We stopped to check out the Osborne Lights on the way - OMG what a sight to see!! Amazing!!
At Sci Fi I had the Buffalo Chicken Potato Skins - very good!! For my entree I got the All American Picnic Burger - It looked so gross but tasted oh so good!!! After we were done we went back and watched the lights for awhile then headed back to the WL. Another great day!!
What a great day at DHS., only six more day until we see Fantasmic for the first time. The Osborne Lights is one of the main reason we love to go during the Holidays.

Magic Kingdom is our favorite park. We love being able to hop on a boat to get over there and it had the best rides for Josh and Sam.
We had an early ADR over at Crystal Palace with Pooh and Friends.
We had to take the bus over since the boats werent running yet. The bus pulled up just as we were getting to the stop - Great timing!! I love heading into MK early...Nothing like walking down Main street almost alone.
We got seated quickly and had a great server, Vinnie. I love it when waiters go out of their way to make our youngest(Sam he has Autism) son enjoy himself. Vinnie was a great waiter and Sam I think enjoyed this meal more than any other meal ever on all of our trips.
I had some yummy waffles, Eggs, Bacon, Stuffed French Toast - yummy!
After we finished up it was time to hit some rides!! I knew we were going to take it easy today because we were coming back Tuesday night and Thursday so I didnt feel the need to do everything today. It was much more relaxed and to be honest we needed it to be - all of these early ADRs and late nights takes it toll!! We went on all of our favorites and decided to head back over to the WL for a bit to grab some lunch at Roaring Forks and rest up. We had to be back at MK for a 4:00 ADR at LTT.
On the way out I decided to stop in the Main Street Bakery. I had never been in there before. I couldnt decide what to get so I got the Gingerbread cookie with the Castle and the Christmas Tree Cupcake. The cupcake was good but the Tree party was pretty nasty - the green icing tasted wierd .
After our snack we headed back over to WL got some lunch and headed to our room. We watched TV for a bit then got ready to make our way back. Hopped on the boat back and was at LTT right on time. I love the food here (I love food anywhere ). For dinner they have a Thanksgiving Style feast - Turkey, Steak, Pork, Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Mac and Cheese - Yummy!! I dont have pics of everything
For dessert we had cherry cobbler with vanilla Ice Cream.
Rob had to take Sam out of there while we were eating because it was a bit too loud for him today there and he was UNHAPPY Josh and I stayed back to finish eating. I have to admit I was rushing to get out - I wasnt sure how Sam was and I was worried. When we finished up we were looking around outside for Rob and Sam - I get a call from Rob - He tells me to take my time because they just hopped on the Steamboat for a ride. LOL Sam was fine and we rushed for no reason...Oh well!! We walked around by the close rides but the lines were very long and it was getting close to the Castle Lighting. I wanted to Claim our spot for the night so we just stayed put and waited for them.
Once they were off we went and found a spot on the curb and figured we would be there until after wishes.
Castle Lighting was at 6:15 - So cool to see the Castle with the lights!!!
Next up was the Parade - Loved it!!
Then Magic,Memories and you - This always amazes me when I see it.
Then last... Wishes!!!
We left MK and made it on the first boat - woo hoo. When we got back to WL rob stayed in the room so Sam could sleep. Josh and I went to do Laundry - fun fun . We decided we were hungry so we went back to roaring forks. Josh had Chicken Nuggets and I had a Bacon Cheeseburger, We also did some shopping in the gift shop..Turned out to be a very expensive Laundry trip .
We had Another great day at Disney!! the weather has been perfect - Not too hot and not cold - we have been fine wearing jeans and Tshirts during the day and throwing on a jacket at night.
Crowds havent been bad except for this afternoon at MK but I expected that since it is the EMH there tonight.....
Tomorrow is AK day!!
