Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

My son has similar problems. If it's just one area, try using pure aloe. It cools and moisturizes the skin. And, make sure she drinks lots and lots of water. Cool oatmeal baths are also helpful.

Did she get too much sun? Did she eat a lot of a certain food?

I'm glad she's better today. Sending good thoughts and pixies that it doesn't come back.

It was her waist up to her kneck. She drank twice the water yesterday. Wasn't able to give the oatmeal bath to her because a storm came up and lasted way past 12 midnight. She hasn't been in the sun this past weekend do to Irene so that is a no. For food wise she ate her normal amount of stuff. It is just a complete mystery why she was itching. Not knowing what was causing it and everyone one I called (her doctor and pharmacy) really didn't have anything that they could do. Her doctor did say if she still itched this morning to bring her in and they will run some test. But so far she isn't complaining about itching.

As the mother of allergic children there are a couple of things that can help and you may have already looked at them.

If there is more pollen/mold other allergen, it can make them itch. Sometimes rinsing, not washing is better. You can also use a lotion like cetaphil instead of soap.

My DD still swears by Aveeno products. They are some of the few she can use without a reaction.

Carefully look at soaps, etc. Look for new and improved comments. It's also possible that an ingredient was changed without any mention.

Good luck. I hope the itching stays away.

With Irene - that storm kicked up a lot of mold and out of season tree pollen. Stitch's been having a hard time these last few days with breathing and allergies. Yes your kid has been inside, but that also means she's been *stuck* inside for days. And air still gets in from outside.

Also, with Irene, did any damage happen to any local factories that might have leaked chemicals? A long shot, I know, but some folks can be more sensitive than others to such things.

The itching came back but not as bad as yesterday. I called her doctor again and they just said to keep giving her benadryl and soak her in a baking soda bath. They said since it sound like it is getting better that she doesn't need to go in the office only if it gets worse.
I checked all the soap and other stuff that she has been around since this past weekend and nothing has changed in the ingredients. The oatmeal bath we have for her is the Aveeno one. So yes those protucts are wonderful.

Her itching is back but not has bad. She has only complained 3 times today so far. Yesterday she was screaming every 30 minutes with it.

She wasn't inside all weekend. We walked around the neighborhood Saturday. Then we went to church Sunday.
None of our local factories leaks any chemicals. Thanks so much for thinking of that.

I really appreciate all your help. Me being her mom it really upsets me when she is crying from itching and I can't do anything about it. That makes her even more upset when her mommy can't do anything to stop it. Truly I rather have the problem than her going through this. I am just glad that it seems to be going away slowly on its own. You guys are the best to help calm me down and letting me know I am not alone in this.

update on itching

My DD started screaming she is itchy again and I told her to go to her bathroom and she will have an oatmeal bath with baking soda. Well when she took off her underwear there are about 6 little red bumps on her booty. They are not together. So when she got out of her bath I put the benadryl on them. The nurse said if they don't look like they are getting better by Friday morning to bring her in. I am so glad now I know where the itching is coming from and can put the cream on the spots needed.

I know they vaccinate for Chicken Pox now but the red bumps made me think of it & I remember how itchy I was many years ago when I had it. Hope the itchies go away soon.

Have you ever heard of chiggers? It is a type of mite. We get them often out here-they are a horrible horrible itch! They are small red bumps and most common areas are where the most body heat is underwear and arm pits, they usually are on feet and up legs too. Google it but mostly only time helps. Good luck I know it is heart breaking to not be able to help when yuor kids need it!

I don't know if you have pets but little red bites could be fleas as well. We had problems with them this summer (had to have an exterminator come twice). I got bit all over and they itched like crazy but from where you say they are it most likely isn't fleas. They usually go for legs and ankles. I hope you are able to figure ouw what is going on.

Oh YES I know what chiggers are. I had plenty of them in my lifetime. I was thinking that also but looking at them and watching my DD I know it isn't chiggers. When I had the chiggers putting clear fingernail polish on them helped. Still don't know what she had but it is going away each day and the bendryl is helping now since I know where she is itching now.

No we don't have pets. If we did I would think its flea bites also. I serious don't think I will ever find out what caused it
