The Overtakers are in Qahoots. FIRST WILD RIDE 15SEP2011-18SEP2011 - 01DEC2011 Updated - Page 3 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Definitely the weirdest Hidden Mickey and my DH was laughing at me wanting to post it. He says that's a sign that I'm TOO eager for our Disney vacation.
A Hidden Mickey puddle is way better than the 2 puddles she's left on the couch this weekend. We had to move her bed off the couch and onto the floor because she can't get up or down off the couch anymore. So I was excited to see that she was at least making it to the wee pad...then to have it be a Hidden Mickey made it just hilarious.
She's a teacup yorkie who just turned 11 and she's finding that she can't jump up and down off the couch anymore to do her business. So we are just happy she can still walk even if she can't jump anymore.
Do you just call and talk to them on the phone...this would come in handy on our trip
Yeah. I just called gave them my email and home addresses and talked to them for over 10 minutes. Then I got my gift card by Fedex less than 1 week later. It's a great way to make money...plus we are seriously considering joining DVC...if I can convince DH that it would save us money in the long run.
So we are officially 3 weeks and 1 day away from departure.
I have been absolutely horrible and have not completed our poodle skirts.
For my skirt: A Deep Dark Purple
My idea was to put the outline of Maleficent on my skirt on one side and the outline of the 3 fairies flying on the other side...with sparkly sequins of magic around the skirt linking them. Looking like the fairies were trying to sprinkle Maleficent with good spells/magic.
I will then wear a white shirt in the style of the 50's and put my hair up in a ponytail and maybe even a purple scarf tied around my neck
For PW: Her skirt is a bright almost fluorescent green. I am putting a cutout of Tinkerbell with her wand and a burst of magic fairy dust around her that will lead around to the other side. Which will be a silhouette cutout of Captain hook in the Crocs mouth. We are going to put pompom on her socks...a la Tink!!! She also has long hair so will likely do a 50's style ponytail too. I was thinking of making us both scrunchies that will match our outfits. I'm hoping she will find a good white shirt that will go with her outfit too. The waists on the skirts are black elastic and we've tried them on and they fit pretty good.
WH: He was going to wear a fedora with a press card it in the 50's style.
DH: I was thinking of having him dress like a mouseketer but we will see...haven't completely decided yet.
I have the patterns printed out...I need to cut the felt and start the sewing. Time is running out...I only have 3 weekends left to work on it...and this weekend is Pat Benatar in concert at Taste of Blue Ash.
Saturday is a scrapbook crop at a good friends house that will likely last all day.
Before I know it...it will be checkin time.
So...enough about costume prepping for MNSSHP.
Dining....
well....we booked some great meals....
Arrival night is ...(well check back for my next post to see)
Arrival date 15 Sep Just had to look at your countdown Cheeser You forget it was there ?
Understand completely about having to give up Disney prep time for P Benatar on Fri night we are going to find out just how much of a REDNECK I R when go to see Jeff Foxworthy at one of the area Casino's
It says...special passholder deal for LaNouba:
Two Category 2 tickets for $50 bucks
We go out to Longhorns dinner last night 2 for $29.99 plus tax and a free dessert with Wolfhunt and Puzzlewoman.
We bring up the deal. Everyone is in for the deal. Four people would be $100 bucks right.
So I call to book the 4 tickets this morning....turns out....it's $50 a piece. AllEars.net missprinted the deal. When I went to check the offer on the passholder website...yup...it was there $50 bucks a person for up to 4 tickets at Passholder deal rate.
So...now not as excited. La Nouba is out for night of arrival then.
Wolfhunt has ordered our photopass...so I need to write them a check for that.
And back to dining...enough of my complaining...and disappointment
Our touring schedule:
9-15-2011 Thursday.
Depart Cincinnati for MCO at 9:35. Hopefully arrive via DMA at resort by 1pm.
Quick CS lunch somwhere
6:30 ADR at Raglan Road in Downtown Disney. We were hoping to do LaNouba this night at 9pm show...but not at that price.
9-16-2011
Later Breakfast at Main Street Bakery so wolfhunt can get his cinnamon roll.
Counter service lunch somewhere with a Dole Whip break in the day
Then back to the resort...for a little rest and to get changed into our costumes.
4:30 Dinner At Liberty Tree Tavern...and a little bit of park touring and prepping
7pm MNSSHP Party
9-17-2011
Cafe Rolls breakfast at DHS after a quick spin on Star Tours and TSMM
Counter Service lunch somewhere...maybe sci-fi dine-in if we can get in.
Trek to Epcot and get in Soarin/Test Track
6:30 ADR at Biergarten...with a World Showcase evening end.
9-18-2011 Chocolate croissant breakfast on the books for Puzzlewoman. Hopefully a few hours at one of the parks...likely MK before we have to meet our DME bus around 12:30.
4:10 Depart MCO for CVG and home again...home again Jiggity Jig.
So as you see a very quick tour of the World...but hopefully an awesome time at MNSSHP and a change to alleviate our World fix until our big January 2012 trip!!!
The focus of the trip will be MNSSHP and getting in the new Star Tours II.
LaNouba would have been nice...but I think we can still enjoy ourselves at our Happy Place.
I'm procrastinating on the skirts still. The plan is to do the majority of the work this Sunday.
Have to get through Pat Benatar and a day scrapbooking first...so hopefully I'll be motivated.

Thank you for clearing up the LaNouba debacle! I read that as well and thought "I have ALWAYS wanted to go" and then thought about me being solo, could I buy two tickets and scalp one? could I go alone for $25? Crud.
