Saturday 23 April – part two: Impressions de France... as you’ve never seen it before!

We started to walk through Morocco, having a look at the tops they have. I bought a lovely red one a few years ago and have never seen another one like it again. Every time I wear it, people comment on it, so I always check to see if there’s anything similar, but sadly there never seems to be. Today they had a better selection and I tried one top on, but let’s just say that I looked pregnant in it...



We wandered through to France, as I hadn’t had a chance to see the topiaries up close or the perfume garden, so we got some photos of those, although where they’d positioned Aurora made getting photos of all the topiaries a bit of a nightmare.



Of course I had to get a Grand Marnier Slush to enjoy – and enjoy it I did. Four this vacation is not a bad score!



When we finished exploring, I thought I’d check out when the next Impressions de France was due to be showing and we were told that it was a minute, but I’d need to finish my drink before I went into the theatre. Well, OK, if you insist!

When we went in, we experienced one of the funniest comedy of errors ever. Firstly, the Cast Member gave the worst introduction I’ve ever heard to this film – it was literally “welcome and enjoy the trip” and that was it! As Mark said, nothing about “our wonderful country” or anything...

Anyway, worse was to come. The guy left and nothing happened – seriously! We were left staring at this – an empty screen.



Eventually, the Cast Member came back and apologised, saying that they had only just received a digital version of this film a couple of days earlier and they were still having issues with it. He eventually turned out the lights and then nothing for a few seconds....

...finally it started and my goodness, the digitalisation of this has made an enormous difference to this film! They haven’t updated the film at all, but suddenly it looks new and fresh, which is a big improvement on what came before. The last time we saw this, we both said that it really was looking old, but not now.

Anyway, we got towards the Paris sequence at the end of the film and what happens? The curtains start sliding across. It gets better – the doors open and the next group of people come in, with no sign of the Cast Member to sort things out. Ok, so our film appears to be over, even though the last bits of are still playing from behind the curtain! It was classic....



We came out of there and spotted a Friendship arriving at Morocco, so headed over to catch that back to Future World.



Now we could finally see the newly added TowMater in the Cars 2 topiary. The Cast Member nearby told us that he’d taken so long to add, as Pixar weren’t 100% happy with the first version and wouldn’t approve him. Interesting.... he’s excellent as a finished product, so perhaps Pixar did the right thing saying : the first time around.



We walked across to the Eeyore topiary, so I could say goodbye to him...



... then we got a couple of photos done with a Photopass photographer.

Haha--really like the story about the doors opening and the curtains drawing b/f the film was finished. Made the whole enchanted castle from Beauty and the Beast leap to mind!
Would also be curious as to what issues Pixar had with Towmater Version 1.0.!

Caught up again.. I love the pcture of you with the Eeyore topiary. and his sign that says" thanks for noticing"
The bratty kid at Fultons... sadly its the Parents that need training... When nephews were little and we would go somewhere to eat , they had a habit of sometimes sitting on their haunches with their feet on the seat and their knees up by their chin. Which would make me say, "put your feet down and sit like a human and not like a monkey" Well guess what... my sister I were out for lunch one day and guess how she sat in the chair when she was "relaxing" on a funnier note my nephew was 4yrs old and let out a huge burp in Friendlys restaraunt. I told him that he should say "excuse me" when he burps like that and he replied.. "No.... you are suppose to say Nice one Pumba"
Too funny about the film in France, sounds like their timing was off a bit. Glad the crowds were not out yet? wonder where everyone was?

Very funny about the movie timing in France, but I'd have been mad if I were seeing the film for the first time! It's always odd when something like that happens. Disney gets all the details of programming effects for parades, shows and rides so perfectly down to the split second that it just doesn't seem possible when something goes so wrong!

I don't know. Anyone have any ideas? We pondered this question at some length, but couldn't come up with any answers...

Love your pictures of Morocco - we love that pavillion and we always wander and seem to find something we did not see before. What a showing in Paris - guess they need to work out some of the kinks with the new digitialized movie. We have not seen that movie in awhile, think I have to make to put it on our list to see again...hopefully without all the problems that you went though.

You have great Morocco pictures. To funny about the France Movie. But best of all are the pictures of the Topiaries of my buddy "Eeyore". He is my most favorite character.
