As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We will be at POP from the 21-25! Maybe we can meet up. It will be DH, DD (12) and I. How are you traveling? We are going by train
We are flying down with our two kids. My daughter is 5 and son will be 17 months when we arrive. It will be my wife & I. Always up for meeting new people! Maybe we could meet for breakfast or something.
Celebration of Jeffrey's Life - August 4th - August 12th
Destination: Walt Disney World Date: Thursday, August 4th - Friday, August 12th Adventurers: Dyan (me - the crazy one), Jeffrey (DH - the shy one), Kyle (DS18 - the college sophomore ), Laurie (DSIL - the creative one), Bob (DBIL - the fellow baseball fan - Yankees, even!), Brandon (DN16 - the family Red Sox fan in NJ) and Hunter (DN11 - the biggest fan of Uncle Jeffrey) Resort/Hotel: Coronado Springs Resort Celebration: Life! We are celebrating life this trip, specifically Jeffrey's! Jeffrey survived a horrific accident at the fire station in October and after multiple surgeries, a lengthy stay in the hospital, nursing home, in-home and outside PT/OT, doctor, dentist & specialist appointments too numerous to mention, Jeffrey jumped (okay, he's not doing that yet) at the chance to go back, when his sister invited us to join them. Our touring will depend on what Jeffrey can tolerate each day; he's come a long way, but he still has a long way to go. He's still in PT, is about to begin an 18-month -> 2 yr journey with braces on his teeth followed by the replacement of 3 teeth, and may need additional surgery or therapy, as they have found muscle tears....but all is good! We still have Jeffrey and we're going to celebrate! Meetings: I'm sure I'll be sporting some type of Red Sox attire and will, probably, be wearing my PassPorter pouch. DH & DS will have their Red Sox backpacks. If you see us, be sure to say hello! My PM box is always open too!!
I just received a call from AAA that our Disney packet with our plane ticekts and luggage tags are in!!!!! I will be picking them up today. Soooooooo Excited!!!!!

I hope all this hard work and planning pays off. I'm pretty new to the boards and have only been asking questions as I go along and looking a pictures of food. (LOL) So, here's my attempt to post our Disney Plans.
I was last at Disney in 1988 (age 12) Now......I'm 35
My daughter......well........this will be her first trip. She's 5 and will be 6 in September.
Daddy..................he can't make it. He was originally coming when we made the plans back in Februay and then he found out a month ago that he was going to engineer school.
Flight leaves Sunday, 8/21/11 at 6:50AM..........arrive in FL at 8:46AM
Taking the Magical Express to our resort, PFQ. Not knowing if our room will be ready or not, I plan on leaving our carry-on at the resort luggage center after checking in. Then take a walk to Riverside and catch a boat and head over to DD.
First stop will be at Design a T. After we place our order we'll have brunch/lunch at Earl Sandwhich. Then stroll over to Mickey's Mart and see what all they have for under $10.00. Afterwards, my daughter wants to go to Goofy's Candy Shop. By now, our shirts should be finished. We will pick them up and head back over to the reosort. I'm thinking our rooms should be ready be 3PM since that is the normal check in time. (I'm still hoping they will be ready upon arrival).
Once we are able to get into our rooms, we will change into our swimming gear and head down to the pool. Hopefully, no more than an hour. My daughter wants to visit the arcade room at the resort. We received a AAA voucher for 100 free points to be used at the arcade......so she's pretty excited about that.
Then we will have dinner there on the property at Boatwrights. Afterwards, try and get some sleep........we have a busy week ahead of us.
Monday, 8/22/11 **MK** Skip Breakfast and using our Quick Service Credit for brunch at Cosmic Rays. I see they open at 10:30. Our first day at MK will be spent on the right side of the park. (Main Street, Tomorrowland and Fantasyland). Skipping the 3PM parade on this day to try and get as many rides and shows in as possible. Must use a snack credit for Mickey Ice Cream Ears and I want to try the Dole Float that I have read so much about. Dinner reservations have been made for Tony's. After Dinner, head back up Main Street and find a spot for the Electrical Parade. After the parade, I have reservations (again with AAA voucher) for a special viewing of Wishes. After the fireworks, head back to the resort and prepare for the next day. (I bought my daughter's glow bracelet, neckless and wand from the $1 store)
Tuesday, 8/23/11 **HS** Use a Quick Service Credit for breakfast at the resort. Head to HS and start the day off with High School Musical show. My daughter is really looking forward to this. Must check out the Tower of Terror among other attractions. Sarring Rolls Cafe for lunch......again using another Quick Serice Credit. Then dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe. Not for sure if we will stick around for fireworks again or not.
Wednesday, 8/24/11 **EPCOT** Character Breakfast with the Pricesses and then Story Time right afterwards. Afterwards, head back up towards the font of the park where the ride attractions are located. I don't think my daughter will be interested in visiting all the countries at the back of the park. We'll see. We will be skipping lunch since we had the character breakfast. Our dinner reservations are at the Coral Reef. Looking forward to trying a Blue "Glow" Martini!!! After dinner, leave the park early and head back to the resort to watch the Bob Jackson show. In my opinion, after watching the fireworks at MK on Monday, why watch them again the rest of the week if there are other events taking place.
Thursday, 8/25/11 **NO PARK** My daughter is signed up to do the pirate cruise treasure hunt at the resort.........Riverside. I think we should still have breakfast at the resort first.....using another credit.........and then her adventure is from 9:30-11:30. I know they get a snack, but I'm not for sure how much. While she is gone, I may have to do some laundry I have these new Purex Complete 3 in 1 washing sheets that I've alread packed. When she returns, we will either swim and then head to Downtown again or go to Downtown first and then swim at night. Depends on how much we visited at Market Place on our first day. We will have lunch and dinner in Downtown. We may still have a few places to look at and then head to the West Side. Our dinner Reservations are for Planet Hollywood. Not for sure about lunch yet. After dinner, head to the camp ground for Chip - N - Dale Sing Along. I still need to figure out the easiest way to get there. If by boat, then great. If not, then I will have to take boat back to resort then a bust to park and then another bus to camp site. Ugggg......I hope it's easier done than said.
Friday, 8/26/11 **AK** Character Breakfast again Will probably skip lunch. Dinner reservations at Yak and Yeti. My daughter really wants to see the animals!
Since AK closes early and we will be returning to resort early, we may swim again and then start packing.
Saturday, 8/27/11 **MK** Time to check out........so sad. We will leave our luggage there and find out when we need to return for the Magical Express to take us to the airport. Our flight is at 8:55PM. We will use a credit for breakfast at resort and lunch at MK......not for sure where yet. This time we will visit the left side of the park. (Adventureland, Frontierland and Liberty Square). Hopefully we will be able to watch the 3PM parade and have enough time to head back to resort. I'm thinking at this point we have one table service credit left and if time permitts, we will use it at the resort before leaving.
Now.........all the snack credits we will use to bring things home!! I know we will be using 2 on Monday. I'm thinking of the school house bread from Epcot on Wednesday and then on Friday at AK there is a shop there next to where we are having breakfast. On our last day at MK, buy some fudge to take home.
I hope all this hard work and planning pays off. I'm pretty new to the boards and have only been asking questions as I go along and looking a pictures of food. (LOL) So, here's my attempt to post our Disney Plans.

We'll be in the same parks as you Monday- Wednesday Tomorrow we'll be in Disney!
Have fun! We will be there at the same time, but not going to the same parks on the same days. Right now, we are getting ready to leave our hotel in Fort Wentworth GA for the final drive to Pop Century (about 6 hours and we will be in the bubble!)
