We're going to WDW! Adventures of a Mom & Toddler the TR! 9/24-9/30/2010 - Page 28 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Wow you really have been busy. Glad you are not adding a move on top of everything you have been doing and have coming up. I hope Skyler enjoys the game. I tried to take Evan to a Phillies game last year but it was 100 that day and he woke up with a fever so we didn't go. He really enjoys the local team we have in CamdenNJ-the Riversharks. It is very family friendly and WAY less expensive. Last year we got tickets directly behind home plate in about the 5th row for $15.00 each. We'll be heading back in July I think.
I hope you have a great birthday for Skyler, and Happy Anniversary. I do hope all your travel plans come about because having a vacation to look forward to is the only thing that keeps me going sometimes.

You have been busy!
I won't say anything about going to a Cubs game since it's Skyler's 1st and for his birthday. I'm taking my brother & his wife in a few weeks & Mike is taking Dylan the same night - we both got seats from our work.
I thought about you yesterday as I watched the Bears game. I realized you haven't been on in a long time. Is everything okay??? Please post whenever you can!

She's been posting on facebook so I guess life is just getting in the way.

Thanks....I'm not on FB. I haven't been keeping up very well here on PP, but I was thinking about Becki while watching the Bears game. Just wondering how she was doing.
Hi everyone it's Becki(BeckiO5) & I'm back:-)! Just a different name as I have been having trouble logging in and life has gotten the way a little bit with Skyler, his school, his Dr.'s Appointments, & feeling like I am running around while he is in school like a mad woman. I hope each and every one of you are doing well. I hope I can finally post the rest of the pics from our trip before Skyler is out of school for summer vacation and then I will really have my hands full with him. I haven't forgotten about you all.

Becki you'll have to let me know when you guys are coming to New Orleans so we can meet up! I'd love to actually meet you and your amazing family!
Heather, I will certainly let you know when Erick get to make the next trip to New Orleans. There has certainly been a thought that all of us in the next few years will be going for Mardi Gras(I know it's insanely busy time for you there) since I'm still the only one who hasn't been for it yet. We will certainly have to meet up and I have told Erick numerous times we will have to see you at work & have a drink or two made by you :-)! We would love to meet you too Heather.
Skyler actually was there this past November instead(I was so lonely without my pal on my Birthday too) and they had a great time.

Thank you so much Holly. I hope you get to take Evan to a baseball game. They are so much fun and I hope he felt better too. That ticket price is great. When I was checking out ticket prices for the Cubs & Nationals Game our seats were in the $20 price range for a mid level seat range inbetween left field & 3rd base. We had a great view of the Cubs Dugout & Bullpen(I was so thrilled about that too as I had realized one of my long time favorite players Kerry Wood was back in a Cubs Uniform). My MIL actually had the tickets from a local Fire Department and gave us the tickets to use(since she isn't a baseball fan) and we invited either her or my FIL to come with us(neither could go) to use the 4th ticket, so in reality we had free tickets to the game:-)! Since one pf Erick's & my friends from college was going to the game & his seats were a lot higher up than ours, before we.entered the gate, I handed him our 4th ticket and told him to come sit with us than sit by himself. We enjoyed a lot more laughter and conversation with Brian. I have a ton of pictures. Skyler loved going to the game and if you ever bring Evan to DC it is a great Stadium.
Thank you very much Skyler had a great Birthday(hard to believe he will be 5 in a few short months). Thank you we had a very nice Anniversary last year and we're still figuring out how we will be celebrating our 5th Anniversary in a little over a month. Sadly Texas & New Orleans trip is a no go for this summer, but Skyler & ai will be exploring Washington, DC with quite a few Day Trips(Staycations are easier with Skyler).

Kelly, busy is an understatement:-)! Thank you for not saying anything about us going to a Cubs Game with it being Skyler's 1st and for his Birthday:-)! He had a great time and loved it. I even lucked out finding he & Erick Cubs t-shirts(soft & comfy ones too) from Old Navy(Erick humored me wearing his) before we went to the game. I hope you all had fun at the Cardinals Game. It even felt more bittersweet for us taking Skyler to see the Cubs since we watched our first game together on the 4th of July(and they were here playing the Nationals) in our hospital room, & the actual day we went on(July 7th) 4 years prior Erixk & I were bringing Skyler home from the hospital and watched that game at home.
You are one busy woman!! Hope you have a great time at the baseball game!
Thank you Kathy. We had a great time. Skyler keeps me way too busy most of the time now.

Susan, thank you so much for thinking of me while watching the Bears game. With Skyler now in school, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, & a lot of Specialist Dr. Appointments for his Autism, he keeps me very busy & off the computer unless he takes a nap or goes to bed early, but I had been spending a lot less.time.on the computer for a while honestly. And with his summer vacation right around the corner, swimm lessons, & taking him to gymnastics classes will be keeping us plenty busy too.
