As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

We decided to go ahead and travel late sept. with our 5 month-old( will be 10 months at time of travel). We are staying at kidani village--since I thought we would have alot of down time...might as well be somewhere we would really enjoy. PLEASE I need advice and tips of traveling with infant. I am a new mommy!! HELP!

I took my DD to WDW when she was 8 mos old & it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Here are some things that I did & plan on doing again when we take our new little girl on her first WDW trip.
~ Bring your own stroller from home. Your little one will nap much better in their own stroller, plus if you are flying it makes getting around the airport easier.
~ I used a hip carrier when DD was not in her stroller. Getting on & off Disney buses was a breeze as well as waiting in lines.
~ I took a waterproof diaper bag (one of the ones I got from the hospital w/formula in it). I didn't have to worry about the pop up sprinkles getting her extra set of clothes wet while we were on an attraction.
~ Take a beach towel or sheet to cover the stroller to help keep it from getting to warm when you are on attractions & it helps you find your stroller easier when CMs have to move the strollers.
~ Keep a gallon zip lock bag (or 2) in the diaper bag for wipes, diapers & changing pad for eaiser diaper changes. (instead of lugging the whole diaper bag with you)
~ Since you are staying at Kidani I would use a grocery delivery service for diapers, juice, baby food. Over half of one of my suitcases was full of all of that kinda stuff & will be using delivery for my future trip. I'd just back what you will need for travel & the first day.
I'm sure I am missing somethings LOL. Also, I don't remember if we got hoppers or not on DD's first trip or not, but my family likes to park hop so we almost always get the hopper.
We took DS at 7mths. I was nursing and there is a lot of attractions suitable for a cool place to do this. We also have two other children so there were times I sat and waited whilst the others experienced the ride. No big deal for me.
We took a Peg perego pliko stroller so it reclined and had a sunhood. Changing diapers in this stroller is a breeze and meant we did not have to return to the baby care centre (one per park). Having our own stroller that was simple to fold up and transport on trams and buses was great. I cannot imagine having to carry even a 5kg baby out of the parks and to my room. Under this stroller was a small storage area where we stowed a large ziplock bag with spare clothes, diapers, pacifier and wipes. We did not take a diaper bag.
In my fanny pack I carried a diaper sack with a diaper and wipes plus a cloth diaper to use for privacy or spillages! There are plenty of places to change your baby around the parks.
Baby can experience many attractions whilst in a baby carrier or on your lap. My children took turns in holding their brother for character meets. I'm not sure if the characters would hold your infant for photos.
At character meals my DS was not scared of the characters as he sat in the high chair (we had already met Mickey on this trip) but be ready for the unexpected.
Sleeping in the hotel room we used Disney's Pack'n'play with our own fitted sheet and blanket (we have previously done the single hotel sheet wrapped around the base but considered this dangerous). The items from home had familiar smells and DS had no problems sleeping. Our room at All star sport had a bath so we just put him in there with either mum/dad.
Our commando touring style did not change because of baby. I certainly drank more water myself and stopped to feed my child but otherwise nothing changed. DS sat happily in the stroller and loved the parades, character greets and general people watching. Oh and we had his first haircut at the MK Harmony Barber shop - a wonderful experience that I thoroughly recommend.
We also spent a day at Typhoon Lagoon. Baby sunscreen is essential especially with all the glare from the water. DS has a ball. I can only imagine how much more exciting it would have been if he was a few months older!

Read the last post and have a note on characters. No, the characters may not hold infants or children. Sometimes rules are broken but that is the rule.

oh my..thanks for all the suggestions! I was planning on shipping food/formula/diapers before hand to the resort. If I decide to order groceries and baby stuff for delivery, which stores should i use? I 've never done that. Also we have a BOB stroller, so im assuming that should work fine and a front carrier. This is the first time we are doing the "kid side" of disney. Not quite sure what to expect. But it sounds like i will be taking alot of pictures with the characters! I better have my game face on!
