Sparky's Gone to the World- A TR 9/13/11-9/20/11 - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

It happens to me on here too. I have gotten in the habit on here and FB of copying every so often so if it does disappear I can just paste it back. LOL
And I have to agree - I would make the ressies for Donald's Safari Breakfast - and then the lunch for RFC..............Donald's is one of our favorite breakfast!!! LOVE it!!!

Ys, it's one of ours too. DH was happy when I added it last minute. I think we are just going to stick with the original plan and do Donalds. I can charge it and then pay it when I get my $50 PayPal, even if that happens after we get back.

Thanks so much! I love your sig pic of your kids, very cute!
Well friends, I have made the decision that we are booking Donalds and I am just going to forget about Rainforest Cafe. I think I will have enough points for the $50 PayPal and would rather go there, so.
Tomorrow morning is ADR day!! I will be up bright and early to be online at 6am and booking! Wish me luck!!

Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. I got up this morning at 5:30am just to be all prepared for the 6:00am opening of the online ADR system. I had my list ready of the ADR's I wanted...days and times. I had my number out for BBB, to call when that opened. I got my calendar open on my computer to see my schedule in case I had to figure any changes.
I also associated my resort reservation and my dining plan so all I had to do was enter in my restaurant.
Before I knew it, it was 6:00am and I went at it. I am pysched about the ADR's I acquired!
Here is the new and PERFECT schedule....read on as it looks the same as the last schedule entry but I have added some stuff.
Tuesday 9/13/11- Arrival Day - No park this day
Lunch- Resort Caf, if hungry when we arrive
Dinner- O’Hana 6:50 pm
Watch the fireworks and maybe the Electrical Water Pageant
Wednesday 9/14/11- MK and Epcot
Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique 9:00am
Breakfast- Cinderella’s Royal Table 10:25am
Lunch- CS either at MK or Epcot depending on where we are
BREAK at resort
Dinner- Garden Grill 7:45pm
I am hoping that is enough time between BBB and CRT. I plan to arrive early just in case, as my TA told me, especially since 9 am is when it opens (that is what the WDW CM told me when I booked). Hoping to get in right away. Pixies for that!
DD wants to be Cinderella, so I have already gone to DisneyStore Online and bought her the dress, light up shoes, and light up wand for this day.
Thursday 9/15/11- MK and DHS Richard Petty Driving Experience for DH; first thing in the morning, opens at 8am
Breakfast- CS at resort
Lunch- Liberty Tree Tavern 12:55pm
BREAK at resort
Dinner- CS at DHS either Catalina Eddie’s or Fairfax Fare
Want to arrive at DHS in time for the 5:45 show of Beauty and the Beast, which we have never seen. I think this will give us just enough time to get our food and head to Fantasmic. What do you all think?
Friday 9/16/11- AK and Epcot (open till midnight) Brunch- Donald’s Safari Breakfast 10:20am
BREAK at resort
Dinner- CS at Epcot, eat around the world; Harry’s, mexico, china
I am hoping while at AK this day we can see the Flights of Wonder show at 1 and Finding Nemo at 2. Is this even feasible? Please advise fellow PP…
Saturday 9/17/11 DHS and MK Breakfast- CS at resort
Lunch- Sci Fi Dine in Theatre 12:05pm
Dinner- CS at MK
This is the day I am hoping to get DD into the Jedi Training Academy, wish me luck! We also want to see the Lights, Action, Motor Show this day. We can also take a break at the resort if we so choose, but I don't think we will because it's the only day I don't plan for a break, except for the Monday before we leave, the arrival and departure day, which I don't think is neccessary. Of course, we can always opt not to break at all. It all depends on how DH and DD are feeling.
Sunday 9/18/11 Epcot and MK (open till 1am) Breakfast- CS at resort
Lunch- Le Cellier 12:45pm
BREAK at resort
Dinner- 1900 Park Fare 7:15pm
YES! I get my tomato stack and burger. This was my personal #1 pick for an ADR.
Monday 9/19 AK and MK Breakfast- CS at resort
Lunch- Crystal Palace 1:00pm
Dinner- CS at resort with fellow PP Jess (Jessie092408) and her DH David 6:30pm
This day we are trying for Festival of the Lion King at 10 am and anything else we didn’t fit in the other AK day. If we happen to get everything we want in the first day then we can opt to just go to MK this day.
Tuesday 9/20/11- Departure Day L- MK Breakfast- O’Hana, Lilo & Stitch 8:30am
This leaves us plenty of time to head to MK for a few hours before having to catch the DME around 2:30ish. YAY!
So there you have it. My schedule. I am really pysched about this schedule, as I have fit everything in we wanted. I feel like this schedule is not going to have us running around all harry canary. I think the one TS meal per day except on Wed and Sun will give us a more leisurely pace and more free time. I do think that the 2 TS meals on those 2 days are spread out enough from each other, that they will be fine too.
I expect that my schedule wont change much as I think this is perfect. But you never know.
