Taggin' Along Compliments of Disney! - Page 10 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great dining plans! Captain's Grille at YC is very good. We've had breakfast there before and weren't disappointed!
That's good to know. Just in case I end up booking that restaurant. I may give in at the end, because they still have availability.

I have never eaten in Casey's but, they show black and white Mickey cartoons right? I hope to maybe snack there one day, Josie is all of a sudden into those old black and whites. Odd girl.
I would keep checking for Cape May Cafe. Even walking up and asking for availability if you can. There were 10 of us staying at the Poly one year, and every day we checked for an opening for Ohana breakfast. Don't ya know, our last morning there, they fit us in , no problem.
Thanks. Casey's is a great place to grab a quick bite, and they have outside dining which is nice too. Part of this is my fault because I waited to long to make my adrs, but I really didn't think I was going to want to eat any TS meals this time. Yeah right! I'm definitely going to keep checking on CMC, and possibly try a walk up. It's not supposed to be that crowded when we go, and if we arrive early enough we may get lucky. I just wanted to stay around the resort area since we are going to be walking over to Epcot that day.

I'm sorry I'm making you feel like you need to vring a Toy Box for Hope. I'm only packing the toys that can fit into his backpack (which is being stuffed into a smaller duffle with his clothes and a pack of pull ups for the plane). I certainly wouldn't wish a 2-4 hour delay upon anyone, but it was just an example of a well behaved baby with that long of a delay. Also I just got in the mail today sonething I ordered off of the Inventive Parent Website for Skyler. Instead of a "baby leash" thing we had for Skyler that he didn't care foe too much, I found one that is beltbag type that one goes on Skyler and one on me (and this has 3 pockets on the adult one which I can fit my camera, wallet, and phone in) and it just hooks onto the child one letting him go as far as 5 feet away. I got his in the tiger pattern. Jeff (disney on the boards) highly recommended it as he's used it with his own kids. The kid belt bag can fit a small toy or small size snack to help keep them occupied in the lines. I don't know if somethig like that may work for you with Hope for her need to walk, but still have her close to you.
You definitely didn't make me feel that way. It's just I'm getting all of these great suggestions around here that it only makes me want to try everything! I'll have to check out that website to see what that beltbag is all about. Sounds interesting and an easy way to keep an eye on my little one. Once she gets to running it's hard to catch her, but this way I don't need to worry about it.

Of course, I'm sold on the milkshakes at B&C!
We've never tried EoS, Casey's, CHH, or the chocolate cake in Norway
Ok.....now that I've read your dining plans, I'm beginning to question mine....again!
Oh no! Don't go changing your adrs...they're great! But I do have to say that if you've never eaten at EoS, than you must at least try it once. You won't be dissapointed...I promise! And the chocolate cake at Norway is soooooo good. It just melts in our mouth, and we always get a cold cup of milk to wash it down...pure heaven!

great plans and ADR's......I especially thought that we were instant best friends when you said you were having chocolate cake for lunch
I too love eating at resturants for the atomosphere of it all. We spend a lot of our money just eating out because of that ...its true
I love that you are doing Kona! I the milkshake breaks....those are great and Earl of sandwich is a must do for sure at every trip!
Disney is the only place where I feel I can't get away with eating chocolate cake for lunch. I mean, I'm walking miles and miles each day, so why not indulge right? And anyone who enjoys chocolate cake for lunch at least once in their life is a big friend of mine. I knew I was going to get suckered into making at least one adr on this trip, I just like eating out way to much. That's why I hope to get to the F&WF at least once before I die.
I never cook the day I come home from vaction. Usually there isn't anything in the house but more importantly - I'm on vacation until I start back to work so that would include the night you come home too!

Love it, you know Kona seems to be a must do for everyone! I'm going on a tour when I'm there in December and leaving the hubster and DD behind (they are going to chef mickey's for brunch) but maybe I'll just have to hit Kona after my tour (which meets at Epcot) but I think Beaches and Cream is going to win out!
You are going to just love the macadamia nut pancakes - they're so good! I want some right now!
And I've had chocolate cake for breakfast and ice cream for dinner before - and NOT while in WDW! And not while pregnant either. Sounds like some of us need to get together and just eat around the world.
Have something from the new tequila place in Mexico for me while you're there!!!
Melissa, here's a direct link to the one I bought or Skyler. http://www.inventiveparent.com/cgi-b...n&key=SFTYOPAR. He seemed interested in it. Oh just an idea if you have trouble with keeping hair bows in Hope's Hair now, try them on velcro. My mom used to own a hair bow business when my sister & I were little and she used to make her baby bows on velcro. We barely knew they were in our hair and they rarely fell out. Honestly we had a bow to match every outfit growing up(I miss those days).

Great dining plans!!! Of course the last dinner stinks to cook at home I hate that meal myself!!! Not looking forward to it! Can't wait for more
I hate cooking anyway, so it makes it worse when it's right after you get home from vacation.

Can't wait to hear more.
Okay, I probably won't do any cooking that night because I'll be too busy doing laundry. I'm sure Chad will be the good husband that he is and go out and get us something to eat.

I think that's why I wanted to try it out so badly. I like to do at least one first on our trips to WDW, so this was the one I picked. Somehow it always ends up having to do with food.

Okay, so I can admit I've done the ice cream for dinner and not while I was pregnant either. I felt better doing it while I was pregnant, but I can honestly say, that I did this last week when Chad had to work late. And I will now not only will I be thinking of you while I'm on the plane, but also while I'm downing the tequila in Mexico. You're a great influence!

Thanks so much! We've done the velcro thing with her and it used to work, but now she just loves playing with her own hair. So if she feels something there with her hand it immediately comes out so she can play with that too. When she gets older it will get better, but for now I'm just constantly fixing her hair.
Have a great Labor Day Weekend Everyone!!! Here's my labor day symbol... she's just not in labor yet.
I probably won't get a chance to hop on the computer at all this weekend since we've got lots planned. Chad it working the whole weekend except Sunday, so mom, Hope and I are heading to St. Michaels, MD tomorrow for some shopping and sightseeing. Then on Sunday we are going to all relax poolside at his cousin's house. Of course on Monday I will be getting things done around the house that weren't done the other two days, and maybe get some shopping in as well (gotta enjoy it somehow).
Whatever your plans are, try to enjoy some of the weekend and have fun!
A full weekend is def the way to countdown faster Have a fun time and I too will be cleaning Monday LOL We are going to enjoy the pool and do some shopping ourselves. Have a wonderful relaxing time
I am even more excited now to see what you think of BC since I was able to pull off a 2 bedroom for next April at 7 months out! I am giving us until Dec/Jan to make the final decision since April will only be 4 months after our Nov trip. Disney twice in 4 months, really!! If we do go, it would be the week before Sam turns 3, meaning one more trip before buying a park ticket!
Have a nice weekend!

Love the milkshakes as a snack every day - sounds yummy! And you are SO right about not making ADR's and trying to save money - it never works out that way does it?
Have a great weekend and looking forward to your next post!
