I agree!! It seems like this would include wristbands and such, and that would make Disney all the more theme park-y (for lack of a better word ) and less magical!!

Edit: I just saw Sean's idea of the different colored tickets. That seems like a reasonable idea too.

However, I think that while some of these options would enhance the Disney experience, others (well, most) would just be a hinderance, and maybe even take away from those who cannot or don't want to pay extra. I can just see dropped cards everywhere as people juggle them and all of their stuff. Hmm, I don't know. I love hearing all your opinions. Very interesting to see what will happen!

I love the current FP system! I hope that WDW decides against a FP system that allows you to pay for unlimited FP access as a part of your ticket price. I think this would be a terrible problem for the people who spend tons of money at WDW every year: annual pass holders!

I do see the appeal of a partial day pass, especially the evening only pass (Epcot used to have an after 4pm pass for Florida residents--don't know if they still do)--this would be especially attractive to convention visitors who have to work during the morning hours. I wouldn't want to pay for a full day if I was working from 9-5. I think this type of pass would bring in a lot of business travelers.

I also see the appeal of a non-rider pass! This would be great for grandparents and people with limited mobility or health problems!

Some interesting ideas. I could see the 'no-rides' ticket being useful for someone that doesn't go for all the rides but still wants to be able to see parades, fireworks, do some shopping, etc. It certainly wouldn't hurt disney much. Majority of people would still want to do the full ticket so they could see all the attractions. For the few that don't want to do attractions, they would still be in the park to eat and shop. I could see where someone may be hesitant to pay for a full price ticket when they don't do rides, but would be willing to pay less to experience everything else.

On the unlimited fastpass option, I read that as $150 per day. Kind of steep if you ask me especially when you consider that's on top of your ticket price. We love that the current fastpass system allows us to do other things rather than stand in line for 90 minutes. We sometimes have had a small 'stack' but that's because we rarely use our fastpass as soon as we can. We tend to wait towards the later part of the time frame and instead get a second fastpass as soon as we can. If everyone in your party has 2 fastpasses at once by doing this and you have even just 4 or 5 people, it may look like you're hoarding them for later even though this isn't the case.

This "stack" of FP collecting is not such a huge issue at WDW that I have found - it's at Disneyland where you have thousands of Annual Pass guests that know the system and start getting them right after arrival at the park. They go so often, they are well aware of how it works and how they don't expire, etc. and many are young so gathering quite a few throughout the day isn't any problem for them.

In WDW you have far more casual tourists and don't get near as many "regulars" abusing the system so much - The out-of-town visitors see the expiration and assume it has, indeed, expired. Thus, the lines aren't quite the nightmare that they get to be at DL.

For us, as travellers from out-of-town, who only have the one week of vacation to ride the rides (as opposed to someone who is local with an AP who can ride them year-round), I would seriously consider forking out the huge cost for at *least* one day of the walk-on riding.
We spent most of our vacation waiting in lines and only got to ride most of the ones we did wait for once - only going back for a handful of our favorites for a second time.

As for seeing the "stacks" of FPs - yes, we did, truly see them... in the hands of young adults/older teens... (Not a family's-worth, but an individual's-worth) We actually saw a group of them comparing their stacks as if they were competing to see who had done the most running around that day!)

And in fact, we actually DID watch several walk right on to Indiana Jones at LEAST twice in the FP line while we waited in the standby. (In other words, they rode again before we even got to ride once.) If I hadn't seen it myself, I probably would never have believed that the system could be so "misused".
In the past, to have to wait for any ride beyond 45minutes after 10pm at night used to be unheard of... Yet, with the current broken FP system, that's indeed what we were stuck doing.

And the rides, and almost certainly character meet-and-greets. Possibly with more of the less-frequent characters, as the CM-to-guest ratio can go way way up. And who says that popcorn is the only snack that would be available? Fruit, mickey bars, dole whips, french fries ...

Interesting! Not sure about the paid Fast Pass idea, but I think that's what Universal does, right? Or do you get the "Express" privileges for free (well, included in the price) if you're staying at a Universal resort, but have to pay if you're not? (that would always be me, because I'll always be staying at Disney!)

Here's from Universal's webpages:

"...There are in fact three ways to side-step line-ups for popular attractions at the Universal Orlando theme parks... Skip Those Line-ups!

1. Stay at a Universal Orlando Resort: guests get free "Universal Express" access to popular rides. Show up at the ride, show your room key, and enter a fast-track line-up. Works for unlimited access for select rides at both theme parks.*
2. Buy a Universal Express PLUS Pass. Unlike Disney World's Fastpass -- free to all guests-- this pass must be purchased; costs vary on different days of the year, but for example, price for a one-day two-park pass ranges from approx. $26 to $56.* This is addition to regular theme park admission. These passes must be bought online.*
3. For a premium price, guests can take a VIP tour that includes Universal Express Pass access for as many times as you want to do a participating ride..."

The front-of-the-line pass includes priority access to ALL attractions, not just rides... AND preferred seating for shows.
Also, from what I understand, Universal does not offer a separate, "free" fastpass option of any kind - so general lines are all standby if you don't have these.

WELL worth the money... especially for out-of-towners on a limited time vacation.
We also would definitely stay at a Disney-owned property if it came with this option... for sure!
