As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

The Adventures of Flat LeeNee in Disney World May 28 – June 6, 2010
I always find the hardest part of writing my TR is knowing how to start it. After having written so many, I think I’ve run out of ideas. I guess I’ll start by naming the cast of characters. Because she’s my favorite, I’ll start with Karen. Karen (zacksmom_1993) and her DS Zack are my roomies this trip. The June trip is a tradition for Karen and Zack to celebrate Zack’s birthday and also for Star Wars Weekends. We’ll be staying the first half of our trip at the Wilderness Lodge Villas, and moving to the Grand Floridian (club level ).
Also traveling will be Jill (Jillybean), her DH Thom, and her two adorable little girls Mary Devall and Maddie. An early June trip is also a tradition for Jill and her family, and in fact, Karen and I first met Jill on one of her June trips a few years ago. Jill’s probably writing her own TR (though she’s welcome to chime in here, too!).
And last, but not least, there’s me. It’s become my tradition to crash the vacations of my BFFs, and that’s just what I’m doing. But this time, I’ve got a very special traveling companion – Flat LeeNee. If you aren’t familiar with Flat Stanley, he’s a little paper doll that travels to lots of places with school children. Since Eileen can’t make the trip with us this year I made a little Eileen Flattie (inspired by my friends on the ABD tour I took recently). We’ve got a bunch of crazy adventures planned for Flat LeeNee.
I really don’t have time to go into all the planning details, so I apologize to those of you looking for that. Besides, I’ve let Karen do all the planning, so I’m just going to follow her around like a little baby duckling and don't really know what we're doing off the top of my head. If I have time, maybe I’ll take a gander at the Big A** Spreadsheet and post our itinerary but don’t hold me to that. Or maybe Karen would like to chime in!
We also will be treated to a number of special guest appearances. First and foremost, we’ll be joined by Bob & Larry (UncleBob and LLaffinPlace) for the first half. I don’t think Bob & Larry have a June visit tradition, but it has to start somewhere, right? Also, I am excited to get a chance to finally meet Monica (Montimouse) and her crew. They’ve also got a June vacation tradition. And finally, we’re hoping to spend a little time with Sheri (skateycat), who is visiting with her family. Sheri doesn’t have a June WDW tradition (that I know of), but it is a tradition for me to see Sheri when I visit WDW. It’s also somewhat of a tradition to randomly meet other PPers in the park, so I’m sure there will be additional PPer sightings.
So I guess I’m ready to go, I’m all packed, which is a good thing, because I’m leaving after work tomorrow. I’m going for my mani-pedi tonight after work. I decided to experiment and not get the Early Bird Check-in with Southwest. I’m curious about what boarding number I’ll get, and since it won’t matter where my seat is, I decided to live dangerously this time. I’m such a rebel, you know. I don’t want to have the hassle of remembering to check in for my return, so I did get the EBCI on my return flight.
Now, Flat LeeNee is traveling with me, and I know how she is , so I asked her to please pack light. I’m happy to say that she did. And here’s proof:
See! Only 4 suitcases instead of her usual 37 for a 9-day trip. Other than her overpacking, she’s the perfect traveling companion. And if she starts getting annoying, I can stuff her in the overhead compartment.
I don’t know how much I’ll be able to update before I leave, but I’m hoping to pop in for a quick update tomorrow (maybe with at least our ADR choices – I am kind of embarrassed at this sad excuse for a PTR). I really wanted to post a PTR so I’ll have a place to post live updates of Flat LeeNee’s adventures, so keep checking in!

Mickey's so happy to see me back, he can barely contain himself!
Love Flat LeeNee! What a cute idea! We leave on Saturday for our tradition to spend Memorial Day week at Disney! I hope I run into you all again!! Be on the lookout for me, Scott, Logan and our big family trailing behind us!
I love it...what a perfect traveling companion. Can't wait to hear all about your adventures, especially those of Flat LeeNee (especially if she enjoys the WDW bathrooms as much as Eileen ).
Honestly though it is an amazing idea, I know how hard it must be for you all to be there without her and what a great way to let her know how much you all will be missing her....it's like she will be there with you anyway (even though it might be strange with you all picking out her clothes each day )

That title is perfect! I'm in stitches (no pun intended) here laughing! This is sure to be an amzing trip for Flat LeeNee. Oh, yes, and everybody else as well!!

If I didn't already love you to pieces, Shashi, the crocs on Flat LeeNee would've sent me over the edge.
*sniff* She's so cute!
Now I'm all verklempt! Bet Flat LeeNee doesn't cry at the drop of a hat.
*sniff*
Gosh, I wish I could be with you guys, and it's killing me that airfare is the only thing keeping me from you. (That and a hubby who's insisting on me being with him for Memorial Day. Grrrr...)
I'll be living vicariously through Flat LeeNee, your texts, and (hopefully) Skype.
Have as much fun as you can without me -- not that you'll be able to, what with the crying and weeping you'll be doing, wishing I was there with you.
