As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So we started our day with Breakfast at Cape May. From Pop Century the best way to get there is to take the HS bus then take the beach club bus. Since only people on the bus back are typically those going to breakfast they'll drop you off right out front before doing all the stops in the resort. You could also do the friendship boat but the bus was right there and the boat had just left.
Breakfast - Here you have Minnie, Goofy, and Donald in beachwear. It was a quiet morning so we saw them many times. Minnie even sat with Devyn in his chair. He was having a rough morning while waiting for the allergy meds to kick in. The maple baked french toast was good a little soft for me but yum. The bacon was really crispy (yippee) and lots of fresh fruits here, strawberries, blueberries, melon of all colors, kiwi, grapes, sliced oranges, pineapple, whole banana, and apples. It was like a make your own fruit salad. The other thing I didn't see at other breakfast was a spinach quiche. (it had onions I could see so I passed). Our server was really sweet, She brought all her tables with kids signed cards from the cast. Total $70.25+tip (4 credits)
I just happened to look at how many meal credits we had left and it was an odd amount. 10. It should be 12 (or 8 if I missed something) So where did they go? I went over to Beach Clubs Consearge desk MAYBE just maybe they could help. Told him that I just left cape may and my meal credits were off, He ask where we were staying and pulled us up. within 30 seconds he said the over charged you for Hoop-dee-doo. They charged you for 5 people (he saw all the rest were for 4) He couldn't fix it but it was great to know I could when we got back to POP.
With that semi taken care of we took the short walk to Epcot.
We stopped in the gift shop. I was now on the look out for real silver earrings. Becky lost on the day before and needs gold or silver or we get red infected ears. No luck for her but Crysta found a pin she had been looking to trade with the cast members.
First up was Nemo. No line no one in front of us no one behind us, and the que line area is long when you are just wandering through. Next was Crush. Twice. Becky wanted to know if he could Hula dance but then was to shy to ask when she was picked. We looked a some fish and played with Bruce for a bit then it was time to move on. We grabbed some ice cream when we got outside. 2 pineapple pops and a Mickey premium bar for the kids. $11. Mom and Dad wanted a frozen Cap but Didn't see any that could be a snack. We headed to Club cool.
I got Crysta to try Beverly. HEHEHE. Then I got some guy to try it, he was looking for the bubblegum one. Oh bad me. LOL. His wife was rolling.
Devyn feel asleep eating his Popsicle on the way to test track and Becky did just after finishing hers. So I sat with them while Daddy took Crysta on. It seemed like they were gone forever since I was just watching 2 kids sleep. We didn't do baby swap I wasn't that interested. I wanted to do Mission space. Crysta wanted green but it was not happening. She loved orange after and did it with Daddy.
Off to lunch. Coral reef. Went up to check in and they didn't have me. I had my number so she pulled it up that way. And said " Oh that was made for April 2. apparently when I hit the modify my search on the online ressie it reverted the date to the date I was making it. They were not helpful so I asked for a manager. They told me I could wait and see if there was a no show or come back in 1.5 hours. Um no thanks. We left. we went over to the world side and Crysta picked Germany to have lunch.
Food was great, server was not so good. Hubby took the kids out after we were done while I waited for the check. I waited and waited and waited. after 35 min I asked someone else 10 min later he came back and asked if I needed something. then he told me I couldn't use me GC for the tip since he already ran my KTTW card. I said fine but then your not getting a tip. Which I don't think he deserved Since he didn't refill our drinks and I had to track him down to pay. If he had taken a minute longer after I got someone I was walking out. 45min waiting for a check is more then way to long. Food - the pretzel bread was so good. the desserts were some of the best, the rest was good too. Hubby really liked the different types of mustard.
We left and headed the long way. The world side was empty. We saw Beast and stopped. Devyn and Becky would not go near him so Crysta got him all to her self. While they were there I ran toBoulangerie Patisserie and got the frozen caps we were looking for before. $3.90.
Back on future side Hubby and Crysta met up with his brother and his older two to do mission space again. I stayed with the little ones at the water things near test track. They sent me an email post card before they came back. We then went to Tiana garden and the fairies. They did the game and got a ton of stickers and crowns/frog things. Devyn hopped for the next half hour.
We went in the gift shop and I got some surprise things for them. I got Crysta barrette Minnie ears, Devyn a little stitch key chain friend, and Becky a Simba one because she did the Simba pose at AK.
It was time for dinner ADR but we were not hungry, But it was the Garden grill and we had not seen Chip and Dale. So we said we'll go and tell our server to just bring a tiny bit so we could try the food but not too much that it went to waste. BUT disney is magical and just before the soarin building was CHIP and DALE. So we went to the check in booth and let them know we weren't going to make it.
From there we hit Soarin' Crysta went 3 times in less then 30-35 min. I can't wait till Becky is tall enough, She will love it. After all that fun we went to the fountain view cafe. Becky got her first root-beer float. She loved it. Crysta and hubby got a frozen Cappuccino I got a Raspberry smoothie and Devyn had ice cream sundae w/ caramel ( I ate half the waffle bowl) 5 snack credits=$22. And a great dinner.
Time to head home before the crowd. But a quick stop at the entrance gift shop. I grapped them all new friends for the ride home. leaving just enough on the gift card for the last tip tomorrow at breakfast. Crysta got a baby Goofy, Devyn a Baby Buzz, and Becky Angle (from Stitch) (not one saw me get them or noticed the bag?
Back at the hotel I had the front desk fix my meal credits and then we went to the pool. A bit later The other half of our crew showed up with 4 pizzas meals (the ones w/ bread sticks and desserts). All that for 4 people. Yup they shared with us and we still had some left.
Up Next >>>>>>> The last breakfast and getting home.

We checked out and checked our bags with the airlines before breakfast. Since I don't allow charging it was a quick in and out and I had a 3rd bag for home I knew they were under the 50lbs. Left the carry- ons with them and hopped on a bus.
Our last meal was 1900 park fare. I love it, I will go here until they no longer have the strawberry soup. I could eat my weight in it. I like to dunk the french toast in it. SIL and her family loved it too but ate other stuff first so when they went for more they couldn't finish it. The waitress was really nice. Alice didn't like the the page we had for the Mad hatter to sign, it was to close to her page, so she flipped till one caught her eye. It was an I LOVE YOU page. The kids found it funny. Becky Just loves Mary Poppins.
Oh next time we go I'm trying the Strawberry soup with the soft serve ice cream.
After breakfast we went back to POP. We exchanged our left over meal credits for snacks and loaded up for the flight home. Each meal became 3 snacks + the 11 we had left = 23 snacks for the flight. We got 3 apples, 4 carrots, 3 muffins, 3 pez, 1 pack unicorn pops, 4 drinks (pre-airport), 1 box vanilla waffers, 1 box wheat thins, 1 box peanut butter cookies, and 2 brownies. I shoved them all in the carryon bags and we hopped on Magical Express.
I asked for a early pick up since I knew I would have to have security call DC. We got in line I gave each kid a water and a muffin. When we made it to the front I asked for a supervisor and told them I lost my ID in the park. Yes I fibbed bad I know. But They would have questioned how I got there, why I didn't have someone mail it (because I locked the house and no one has a key). We were pulled off to the side and the nice lady called DC. I told the kids to sit and have their snacks and drinks. I had to answer a bunch of questions, some were hard since I have no living relatives besides my hubby and kids w/ the same last name. So I got extra questions. It really only took 10 min once we had a phone that worked. We then got in line. I tossed the drinks and we were through in another 5 min. We made it to the shuttle and to the gate with 1h 20 min till our flight. The kids danced inthe little area I sectioned off (small and away from the masses)
On the flight they colored and played with play-dough for the first half. We had a layover at ATL. The kids loved the moving sidewalks so we skipped the shuttle and walked it. That also let them stretch and move before the next half. On the second plane after take off I ended up with all 3 kids and me in the 3 seats while hubby had his row to himself. How that happened I still don't know but they were being good so I let it happen. We had a lot of turbulence we had to drop down a few thousand feet.
When we landed the people around us said that they were so good they wish all kids had smooth flights like them. I love when my kids are good. The kids were given blankets on the first plane so when we got off the last they went to hand it to the stewardess, she said to keep it it was chilly out.
We were picked up right out front and it was not chilly it was cold. We stopped for pizza on the way home and while it was cooking i ran to Walmart and grabbed milk. I would food shop after breakfast.
All in all it was an uneventful day, just how I like my flights.
You've gotten me all excited again about having breakfast at Cape May. We're lucky to be staying at BC, so it won't be a difficult to get there. Glad you got to meet Chip and Dale as they are too of my favorite characters and we always have such good interaction with them.
Great end to your trip, glad you were able to stock up on some snacks for the kids with your leftover meal credits. Glad you did not have any major problems getting on the flights.
