"I am freaking out" Trip Report UPDATED 5/14 - Page 11 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We arrived at California Grill about a hour early, so we decided to shop in the gift shops. My grandma took me into the more fancy shop to look for a birthday gift. She always insists that she buys me a gift for my b-day and it drives me nuts! She doesn't have to do that! She ended up buying me a plaid mickey backpack and a matching wallet. Has anyone seen this print before? It is adorable! I wear it all the time. And the wallet comes in serious handy! Then we met up with my brothers at the other gift shop. I took some pics from the window displays.
Then we went up to dinner. This was my grandparents anniversary dinner and it was also on Valentines Day! We ordered our drinks and then an appetizer of California Roll. I didn't get a pic because I was so hungry! Then we ordered our dinners. My mom ordered the Sea Bass, my dad ordered the bison I think and I ordered a steak.
It was really really really good and I really enjoyed it. My mom LOVED her sea bass and wanted me to tell you guys to try it if you ever go to CG. Then, we decided to order dessert. My grandparents got a piece of chocolate cake to share for their anniversary.
I got to try a piece and it was delicious! So chocolaty! Doesn't it just look good!!?? I shared the rice crispy sushi with my brother and I always have enjoyed this dessert and sharing it with my little brother. He loves the wasabi gum and I let him have this. After dinner, we rolled out to the firework viewing deck to watch Wishes. I have to say, this song makes me every time I see it! Between "When you Wish Upon a Star" playing in the background and all the little kids oohh ing and ahhhing I can't help but sob. The show started and we were right in front of the viewing area. I only got one picture because I was so fascinated with the fireworks.
We headed back to the hotel and called it a day. I can't believe it was our last day! I was very sad to say that we needed to pack our suitcases already!!

Sorry it's taken me so long to post. Life has kinda taken over and I didn't have any time to get on PP boards! I know, it's scary! I should be back over the weekend sometime to finish this thing up. Thanks for following me through this trip report. I know it doesn't quite compare to some of the other ones, but it's my 1st one, I'll get the hang of it after a while!

Ahhhh so I'm finally back to finish this up. Where was I... Oh YES!!! The saddest part of the whole trip. Departure day.
We had an 11:15 departure time so we were up and at 'em around 8. We still hadn't packed up all our stuff so I put everything in the suitcases like we had them for the flight down so we passed the weight restrictions. The drive to the airport was very sad and I almost cried (come on we all get that feeling!) I wanted to start planning our next trip but I was so sad that the thought of WDW started flowing the tears. We arrived at the airport and we unloaded all the stuff from the car. We went to McDonalds for breakfast and I had a breakfast platter and it was soooo good. I know it's so bad for you but I was already in a bad mood. No complications with the plane this time around and we got our car out of the parking garage and headed home to this...

Yeah it was quite a sight. Apparently my friends dad plowed our driveway and sidewalk because the township people kept ringing our doorbell to tell us to plow it! We couldve gotten fined! Thanks Mr. B!!
Wow, my first TR and I finished it... ALIVE!! LOL. Well I have to say the trip was a huge success all around. In fact, on the way back home, my little brother asked me where we are staying next year! Gosh, I miss the place. I mean it's so magical. It's where adults and grandparents can take the place of the kids and just let go and have fun. It's where dreams come true. We really enjoyed the resort we stayed at and would recommend it to everyone. Oh, and if you go, try the ribs and tell me if they don't taste like the best ribs in the galaxy!! We loved CM as usual and being that it was my birthday was so magical. It was pretty exciting to see Joe and Demi. AND go home and figure out your behind them in a commercial! My mom said she saw it again and it had my whole face in it and everyone else was waving me towards Ellens Energy Adventure! LOL so now I have a memory and so does Disney Channel. My grandparents told me on the airplane that they were quite impressed with the attitude shown with the CMs. They loved how upbeat and fun they were and made the best of a rainy day (and other situations we've all encountered at some point or another.) We tried to do things we haven't done before like Ellens Energy Adventure, Peter Pans Flight, Seaworld. Oh yes if you have an extra day in Disney or wherever in FLorida, GO TO SEAWORLD! You will be blown away at everything they have to offer like the dolphin feeding which is a don't miss in my opinion. And whatever you do, DON'T MISS BELIEVE! If you do you will regret it. It is mindblowing!!!! Well I think that's about it for this TR. Its been fun. I'd like to thank Cam (Cam22) for updating my TR title date every week. and for sticking with me this whole TR. I'd also like to thank Marnie (Colexismom) for reading and replying to every update. I'd also like to thank everyone else who read my TR because I feel like I struggled to keep this TR interesting and not list like. And thank you to everyone on the PP boards for inspiring me to do a TR and Finish it! And thanks to everyone who reads this in the future.
My next TR takes us to the Pocono Mountains with my WHOLE family. Check out "The Whole Family? My Pocono Mountains TR" in the Globetrotting TR section.
Also a side note as to why yesterday I had 3 countdowns and today I have 1. My mom was called yesterday and given a job offer that overlaps our Disney cruise in November. So sadly we had to get our refund from the deposit. I know it's so depressing. But we really like the western caribbean itineraries so we are going to do a Royal Caribbean cruise on the brand new Allure of the Seas with the characters from Dreamworks films such as Shrek and Madagascar. The reason I had to cancel my WDW trip with my mom is because this cruise overlaps with that trip. But I'll still be cruising on my birthday (Februaury 21st) so I'm excited about that. Check out the new sister ship to the Oasis of the seas (the Allure) at Oasis Of The Seas | Allure of the Seas.
