As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Mommy ate the treat on the plane home. It was really good. It was my last "bad" food before returning to eating normal.
The marshmallows counted as snack credits. There are 4 and they are on a Mickey straw. Devyn did - dark chocolate, Reese's pieces, milk drizzle.
Becky did - milk chocolate, mini white and dark chips, dark drizzle
Crysta did - white chocolate, mini m&m's, milk drizzle

Up bright and early. We have ADR for Best friends breakfast @ Ohana for 8am.
This was both of the Dad's fave breakfast as far as food went.
I loved the interaction, they spent a lot of time with the kids and goofed around a fair amount.
The Juice was good but not the Tusker house juice, I love that juice. Oh and this was the strongest coffee I have ever had, only one cup needed to put me in triple speed. Devyn loved watching the chef cook the waffles. The chef even tossed him one fresh off the griddle. We took the Monorail there and the boat back to MK. I think the boat is faster. Cost = $82.64 + tip
We went back to the hotel to swim till lunch. Lunch was at Planet Hollywood. Our waiter was awesome. He had 10 tables but made us feel like we were his only one. He even sat down at the table and chatted. He was like it with all his tables very relaxed but timely. I drank my ice tea too fast I guess because he turned around and brought me 2 a second later. LOL. I asked him if he got any of the Disney perks where they were partners of sorts. He said that they get in to the parks free but there are black out days and they don't get any real deals on food. He 2 of his friends are waiters in Disney and there is a 2 year waiting list to be one. (except for the intern students). because they make big money even before tips. What did we get. Apps - DH - Potato Skins $9.99 / Me - Texas Tostadas $8.99 ( I got one of mine because the kids liked mine) Main - DH - Rib-eye Steak $25.99 / Me - Penne,chicken, broccoli $17.99 / Crysta - Turkey wrap $7.95 / Becky Chef salad $7.95 Dessert - Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownie - $7.95 all 3 kids got a fresh made cookie special from the chef. Total 106.81 + tip
When I asked for a box I got yelled at (in a joking way) because he said he say the kids eat my app. and barely touched my dinner. But when I said it was because I was saving room for dessert he said he would let it slide. I made a point to find a manager to let then know he was great.
After Lunch we wander over to ride makerz and the girls played with the made cars while DH and Devyn made a car. It cost just under $30. Then we strolled to the other end of downtown stopping a random stores. We used 3 snack credits for strawberries smoothies = $13.20 at the stand just over the bridge and DH got some fudge at Goofy's with another snack credit.
With just over an hour till dinner no-one was hungry so we decided to skip Trails end. But I didn't want to have a second floater credit so when we got back to Pop I asked if there was any chance Of getting in to Hoop-dee-doo. Since the staff at Pop had been raving about it. She wiggled her fingers for a second and asked how many total. "11 but we can be split up if need be" No need she says we have a cat 2! 3 tables from the stage! Hoop-dee-doo Is the funniest show ever. If you have not done it it is a must. Six bits chose SIL to pick on. She is very touchy about her hair and has a modified 80's do. He said " Your helmet is so beautiful" they touched it and said " Oh it's protective too" I was laughing so hard that Devyn (asleep on my lap) said Mama stop. I almost stopped breathing. After the late show there are buses that bring you to your hotel (Pop is last) But we had a fun driver that did trivia and jokes. and did a "behind the scenes tour" (he cut thru from Caribbean beach to Pop) Hoop-dee-doos food Buckets of ribs, fried chicken, mash potatoes, salad, slabs of corn bread and yummy strawberry short cake. Cost = $165 tip and beer/wine included.
This was our relax day. It was a lot of fun. I will be doing the Doo again. But the earlier show we were out late and the kids were wiped.
