Wise Women, Good Looking Men and Way Cool Teens - Page 10 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Here's another breakfast picture of the whole gang. I had so much fun..
It was sad it was my last morning at WDW
After breakfast I was off to the airport..
after breakfast dbf and i headed over to the mk to use those fast passes the cm gave us several days before. they expire tomorrow. first off though, we have to ride the train. dbf has never done that. we decide to get off in Toon town since neither of us have been there much, just a bit during the mvmcp. along the way we get photos done with the princesses. as we leave there, i realize i haven't scheduled our "bounce back." about that time a newly wed couple start walking in front of us, discussing the plan of attack so that they can get fast passes and ride everything they want to today. dbf taps the groom on the shoulder and hands him our 4 fast passes good for of those rides! it seemed like an appropriate wedding gift at the time.
we moseyed to casey's to get the required hot dogs and listen to the piano player. we depart the mk and head to pofq. dbf checks for the last package which it turns out didn't arrive today as scheduled. i head to the room and schedule our next trip..
we head for EPCOT to see somemore of the countries, ride soarin', maybe test track and eat at Le Cellier. we've never eaten there either. i did have some of their cheese soup at the international dinner and it was great.
The entrance gardens to the restruant are spectacular!
we met B and her family there for one last meal together. our server was Alison and very perky woman from Markham, Ontario. actually perky is an understatement. i had the magical star drink, well i had a little. dbf had a mooshead pale ale. the food was awesome.
love the chocolate mousse!
for the birthday girl, alison brought out the cupcake and sang "happy birth day to you--moosey, moosey, moose. happy birthday to you--moosey, moosey, moose. happy birthday to yo-oo, moosey, moosey, moose. happy birthday to you." also picture the "hand" moose antlers alison did while singing this spirited rendition. omg, it was funny! it was over before we could get a photo.
at some point we rode journey into imagination and got a fast pass for soarin'. we were to meet b and family there to ride. our fastpasses ripened at about the same time. dbf and i moseyed looking at decorations, getting photos and then settled in on a bench. his back was really bothering him, so we decided to people watch. i found a bench inside in the ac and established a presence there until he could catch up. soarin' was awesome as usual. we said our good byes to B and family and headed to the bus. we got back to the resort in time to check for our package and it still hadn't arrived. We caught the boat to DTD for one last romantic ride and to spend our pile of snack points. needless to say the family got lots of mickey chocolate and treats in their stockings this year. i got one last strawberry.
we packed most of the suitcases and settled in.
we had one last surprise--a thank you card from our mousekeeper for the week, Maria
we had left her a lollipop with christmas cover every day along with the tip envelope. she took them home to hang on her tree. it was a really sweet note. it didn't look like we had a new critter. i layed down and then i saw it.
and now all of our critters.
she would be watching out the window for us every night.
snow man and the fish and octopus
the santa and reindeer with sleigh and pack
the whole scene. it was wonderful to come home every night to something new. we have never had one towel critter in all our previous trips, so we feel really blessed this time.

we get up and finish packing. there are at least 30 of the character covered lollipops left. i forgot that the last time there were 4 of us giving them out. so we decided that since we'd had such a wonderful time at pofq we would write a quick "thank you" and drop it off with the lollipops for the manager. everyone had been so awesome this trip. (ok the whole trip was awesome)
so we went to the lobby concierge and asked if we could drop something off for the manager, as i really didn't want to disturb them. the lady looked at the bag like it might contain a snake or something. she asked what it was and we said "just a small thank you." to which the lady said, "no i won't take it. i'll be back." shortly she returned with a woman who was preparing herself for what i guess she thought was bad news. dbf slide the bag toward her and told her we had an awesome time and knew there weren't enough for all the resort employees but would she hand some out. she opened the bag and said "omg, you're the people giving those out!" we apologized for disturbing her, we just wanted to let her know how wonderful everyone had been. this was my 7th trip and absolutely the best!

it was an awesome trip in so many ways. i loved meeting my PP friends. thanks to B and family for hanging out with us "mosey" folks. i know you did few things when you had to move at our speed. awesome meeting C and family, thanks for sharing those rides. who knew i'd have to go to florida to meet another missourian. S, good to see you again. we'll work on a meeting for Oct. Y, it was good to meet you at the dessert party. sorry things didn't work for the meals. BS, you are in so many of our photopass photos thanks for putting up with my quest to find every one of them. your br photos are aweosme. And omg, just everyone--it was wonderful meeting you all.
it was good for me to find out the diabetes doesn't mean "no disney." it can be done, and was much easier than i thought it would be. planning was required but not hard. and i found that the magic is still there. thanks everyone for taking the time to read the trip report.
got any pics of said lollipops? i don't believe i got to see them in person....sounds very cool. you and danny are both such great people, so happy your trip was fantastic. you brought as much happiness to folks as you gave out, by the way!!! just sayin....
Those lillipops were the coolest things!! So Cute!!
And before I close out my contribution, I would like to just say thank you to the WW5 for opening your hearts and arms to welcome me as a guest on your journey! This is an amazing group of women and I look forward to crashing your party again soon!!!
I won't add much more except to post the last of my BR assignment. Monday, the 14th was my last day there and I left the breakfast to embark on a quest to visit as many resorts as possible before my DME left at 3. Since I had turned my car in before the breakfast, I was at the mercy of the bus system, which didn't always work in my favor, but I did okay.
Oh - and Monday's firsts for me were breakfast at Chef Mickey's, LOTS of resorts I had never stepped foot into, and my walk around the entire Boardwalk area.
Now - on to the days BRs:
Port Orleans Riverside
Yacht Club
Boardwalk Inn
Animal Kingdom Entrance
Animal Kingdom Lodge
And I realized that I had taken this one before Elaine had even planted the idea in my brain. Premonition, maybe?
POR Room
Before my last BR picture of the trip, I just have to add a couple of pictures that I snagged while touring. I was lucky enough to see a bridal photo session while at GF and grabbed this picture. I though it was so cool. The photog took pics first from the inside then moved outside of the window for more.
Then - this family on the bus mid-morning on Monday seemed to just speak to me. How many of us have felt like this?
And now for my last BR picture of the trip. Yes - I know this one was not taken at WDW, but it seemed like a fitting end to my first journey into the documentation of BR around The World.
Orlando Airport
Elaine's assignement is far from complete. So many BR missed. I guess I will just have to return soon to continue the work.

lol, i love the br photos! so much more fun than food photos. i'm going to work on fountains my next trip. seems like they have them every where in wdw.
i know i've posted photos of those lollipops here somewhere but i can't find the picture to upload again. sadly, they are seasonal and out of the catalog of the place where i got them. they were a felt pieced cover that fit over a tootsie roll pop. we had an elf, santa, reindeer, snowmen and penquins. we have halloween ones for the next trip.
