Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

The Disney Princess and Family\'s Most Magical Trip Ever ... Day 5

Once again my morning began with Mickey waking me up in his very cheerful voice and I was up and at em' in no time!!!!
We were off to Epcot today and I was so excited! I had got all the stickers in my son's passport and we were ready to go!!! (((Now was THAT ever a pain!!!)))
First things first at Epcot -- I had been wanting to "leave a legacy" ever since I heard of it and I didn't care what the price was ... however I was very excited that I would get $5 off with my MKC card!!! (Honestly, it ended up being cheaper than I had originally planned on -- I originally thought that it was $35 per person PERIOD and with $5 off that would bring it to $120 total) -- I was pleasantly surprised that it was $38 for two people in one tile and with the MKC discount that brought it to $33 and the grand total to $66!

HHHOOOORRRAAAAYYY Our pictures turned out on the FIRST TRY -- first the boys, then me and the hubby! How cute they were -- then it hit me. I was literally almost in tears. I really wanted my parents and sister to do this too because I wanted us "all to be together" in this "frozen moment in time" -- because one day we all might not "be together" and WOW did that ever hit me hard! My parents though just "didn't" want to do it -- so they unfortunately passed. I was kind of sad I have to admit. But I got over it! On to have more fun now!!!

Our first "ride" was "Spaceship Earth" and how beautiful that was! It was so cute after the ride where you go into that little "exhibit" thing and there in the center of the room there is like a "glass floor" and it has like blue "sparkly" dots on it or something -- well my 1 year old (Gavin) wouldn't "step" onto the glass because he perceived it to be an "open space" and just couldn't "step past the rug" -- it was just so cute! We laughed and video taped for about 20 minutes!!! LOL It was really cute! Then when we FINALLY got him on the glass part he was acting like he was TOTALLY off balance and that was even funnier! """Kids do the darn'dest things"""

Now off to the Coral Reef for our 11:30 lunch PS. What a gorgeous restaurant! The view was just beautiful!!! My dad won for "best meal" -- he had the beef tenderloin meal and that was astounding (especially the mashed potatoes). But let me give a forewarning here -- DO NOT ORDER THE $10 TOMATO APPETIZER! It was HORRIBLE! And hardly worth $10 !!! My goodness all it was -- was a tomato with some crumbled cheese on it -- just awful!!!

After lunch it was off to "Imagination" -- which boy do we miss Figment and that other guy!!! That's about all we can say

Honey I shrunk the audience is just an absolute SCREAM! The beauty of it was my almost 4 year old son Zachary really believed we had been shrunk and was SO upset especially when "Nick" picked up the audience and Zachary kept telling his daddy -- "TELL NICK TO PUT US DOWN!" Children .... they are just so precious!!!!!!!

Then we discovered the "internet email postcards" in the Innoventions pavillion. That's where we spent oh ... maybe an hour and a half!!! We were internet postcard mailin' FOOLS!!! What a riot! (((Thank goodness there wasn't a long line waiting for these computers!!!))))

We then headed over to TEST TRACK -- and if I have to ever hear that AWFUL music again anytime soon -- I think I'll kill myself!!! LOL -- All that "banging and clanking" -- I was ready to shoot someone! And "fastpass" -- wait a minute? Why did we STILL have to wait 25 minutes??!! The ride was pretty cool the first time around and I'd say generally it's an alright ride!!!

Now on to World Showcase and to see the Tapestry of Nations parade!!!! We were able to visit Mexico, Norway, China and Germany (((I think))) and then we "chose our spot" for the parade. I must say I was a bit disappointed with the parade (maybe because it wasn't at "nighttime") but the music is just so empowering and so beautiful that you just find yourself almost in tears!!!! Then the rain moved in so we had to head for cover .. and that also resulted in the puppets doing "less" interacting with the people ... we actually only got 1 puppet on tape touching the boys -- but still very magical!!!

By now everyone was "pooped" and ready to go back to the hotel -- forget doing the rest of World Showcase, forget staying for illuminations -- let's just go back to the room was what the marjority voted on

I finally had to decide that even though I had a "plan" ... that the "family's happiness" sometimes is more important than following the "plan to a "T" and you can "spoil" the magic if you expect too much -- so that's exactly what I did -- I tried to convey to everyone that both Bob and I basically "been there, done that" and if "they" were tired then that was "fine" -- no fights, no arguments, no sulking etc., etc., -- I wanted everyone to have a WONDERFUL trip and if getting a little extra rest made everyone happy -- then "Mom" was happy!!!

We happily returned to the hotel, went swimming for a while, had dinner in the food court and then off to bed in hopes for yet another wonderful day tomorrow at Disney World -- (((Animal Kingdom is next!!!))))
