As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). Hello all. We are planning a trip to DW in early Sept., but part of the family is going to Kennedy Space Center where the rest of us are thinking of going to Universal or IOA- need to know if both parks are able to get thru in one day or should I just stick to one park and if only one- which one? Oh my son will be 6 not sure how tall- right now he is about 46". Oh and what are the crowds like during this time? Thanks again for all your help.

I've done both parks in one day, but its really pushing it. My choice would be to go to Universal. But IOA has more of the thrill rides. Which ever park you choose, you'll have fun. And I've been in September a number of times and the crowds are usually pretty light, except on the weekends when a lot of locals visit.
I've never been to them (not yet anyway) But I would say, it probably depends on what rides you want to do. If you know that ahead of time you can most likely fit both areas in one day.
I would check the height requirements for the rides at both parks to see which park has the most he can do. I think most of the thrill rides at IOA have a 54' height restriction. There is a sticky topic at the top of this forum that lists the height requirements. However, the Dr. Suess area of IOA is great for kids, so that could be a compromise.
I wouldn't try to do both parks in one day - that's a lot to take in! We've been during Labor Day weekend and the crowds weren't that bad at all. Labor Day itself was less crowded than the weekend.
You can easily do both parks in one day, but maybe not with a little one. Seus LAnding is super, I took two teenage girls and this was their favorite part. If you are only going for one park I would look at IOA.

Yes, it would be pushing it to go in one day to both parks. IOA is pretty big and so is Universal. Plus, they have a huge CityWalk that has shopping and restaurants. They have a ton of things to do. If I were you I would pick one of them. Have fun.

It is pushing it to do 2 in one day IF you do not use the Express Pass option, which is basically like having a timeless fastpass to every ride in the parks. If you don't mind shelling out some extra cash to do both parks, that is your best option because you will not have to wait on any lines. The time you are visiting, though, is a pretty low crowd time, so I'm not sure if that will be a good bang for buck moment. IOA, even though it has cutely themed lands for kids like Seuss Landing, has the more intense rides- even the Cat in the Hat can make you very very dizzy. US has some older themed lands but the rides are not as intense and there's a lot of great shows to enjoy. So I would say pick what scares your 6 year old- is it a rollercoaster going too fast or a scary looking mummy next to him? If you pick the first answer, head over to IOA. If you pick answer 2, head over to the Studios. Either way I think you will have a great time- I first went when I was 6 and have gone every year since!!
