As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Last year when we went for our honeymoon, my husband and took a ride on the steam boat in Liberty Square, rather romantic just to sit and watch the scenery go by, also taking a break from walking. He also got me one of those light up roses they sell at night as one of those little gestures of romanticness. Touring around the worlds together was also rather romantic, especially having lunch at the San Angel Inn under the "stars". Was beautiful. And the photo sessions at GF are exceptionally good at putting a romantic flare on a day.

Some of the little surprises I have in store for DH for our trip I'll post later while he's at work (he's sitting right next to me), but we decided that since we're going for our Honeymoon and Anniversary and we're driving down, we're going to enjoy some time at the GF Spa enjoying a Couple's Massage together and we're keeping our fingers crossed this will be for the same day we have our dinner at Narcoossee's (hopefully during Wishes) since it's in the same hotel and I've never actually been inside of the GF! Whether my mom joins us or not, DS will have a babysitter for a couple of hours for us to enjoy some much needed relaxing time and a nice dinner together!
I got married at Disney two years ago (almost to the day, my anniversary is tomorrow). I don't think you can get more romantic. BUT even more romantic was the photo shoot we did inside the Magic Kingdom. We woke up very early (about 3 AM) and were picked up by our photographer at 4:30. We had to get our shots done inside before the park opened at it was EMH over spring break. It was so crazy to see the park with no people except for the cleaning trucks and crews!
The photographer made us feel like celebrities. We got to go up in the turrets in the castle, and we were running everywhere trying to get all of these shots done. Lots of kissing my husband on the lips for shots! It was just so unbelievably beautiful!
Then we headed to what was then MGM and took some Star Wars shots and some up on TOT on the balcony. Very cool!
The best was that we didn't beat park opening at MGM, so all of these little girls were staring and pointing at us. And at MGM, we took some photos with the theater in the back and Mickey's hat, right by where the rope dropped, so there were HUNDREDS of people clapping and cheering for us. We had our mouse ears on in those photos.
Long story short, every time I look at those pictures, I get to see my two favorite things in the world--Disney and my husband. The photographer did such a great job, it sweeps me back to how much magic we felt on that five hour photo shoot inside the park with ZERO people at 5 AM and with the castle all lit up. It makes me want to give my husband a big fat kiss every time I look at them!

Hi we are taking our honeymoon half in hawaii half at disneyland CA. Any tips or secrets to know? Were staying at Grand Californian. Also Does anyone know where to find an updated list of the pressed pennies in the park?
The light up roses are honestly ingenious as a romantic gesture... When you're single or not paying attention, its easy to write them off as a gimmick for little girls but its always sooooo romantic when my husband all of a sudden stops at one of those silly carts, buys one, hands it to me and kisses my hand. Romantic gold. I have like four of them in my memory box!
i've only been the once, and i didn't know about these until a few day into the trip, but i HIGHLY recommend stopping by guest relations and asking for the 'just married' or the 'happy anniversary' buttons. it made our trip ten times better. there was a lot of little things that happened because we were wearing our buttons. the one that i remember the most was when we went on maelstrom, we were given a boat to ourselves despite having a few people in line behind us. we were also given a great table with confetti at california grill. them and the coral reef restaurant gave me a thin bar of chocolate that had congratulations written on them (i'll be adding them to my photo album soon-ish).
while i was asking for the buttons, i was duly informed that we could not spend our honeymoon at disney world without the bride and groom mickey ears, so we were given certificates for a free set. i'm planning on taking them back with us next time and wear them during our vow renewal.
I'm excited because we are going in 10 days and we will be celebrating our honeymoon (only 14 years after the fact). We have never had a trip together, let alone a honeymoon and we have some really fun things planned. We have an in-room celebration, a sweetheart dinner at Citricos, a photo session with photopass photog at AKL, and MVMCP! Can't wait!!!!!
Me and my fiance are going to get married at Disney World after he gets a job in a different state as a manager. We plan on going there for 2 weeks. That will be our honeymoon destination.

Happy Honeymoon-to-be! Although I have a "resister" for a husband, I can't think of anything more romantic than walking the deserted paths at the parks and resorts late in the evening.
I would just plan for lots of evening walks and let spontaneity rule.
We're @ BLT this year. The kids will be with us. However, we're in on of the DVC villas so they'll spend "night time " zonked out and on the OTHER side!
