As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Christmas Eve is at my Mom's- we are doing it simple this year- coldcuts, salads, shrimp cocktail,appetizers, cookies and Friendly's Ice Cream Roll for dessert
Christmas Day- Ina Garten's Lobster Corn Chowder, Filet of Beef, Sea bass for non meat eater DD and a Cornish hen for fuss pot DS, twice baked potatoes, Green beans, profiteroles with ice cream for dessert
12/27 DH family get together at DSIL house- will bring a cheese cake and cookies for dessert

Christmas eve everyone has to work so not doing anything special. Christmas day we are cooking but going to my sisters. We are doing mosscacholi (spelling), toasted ravioli, little smokies in bbq sauce, and I have no idea what else.
Christmas Eve we go to Bil and Sil Jim and Sue's for dinner. They are having pork roast, sauerkraut, mashed taters, green beans, and some kind of dessert for dinner. I have to think of a dessert.
Christmas Day we are having hot crab dip, filet mignon, twice baked potatoes, broccoli casserole, peas, salad, rolls, and an 8 layered caramel cake, and another dessert if I can find one at Ms. Desserts tomorrow. We have an outlet bakery near school.
On the Sunday after Christmas we are going to my Uncle Mike's for an O'Brien get together (my mom's family). I haven't seen them since her funeral last year, so I am anxious to see her brothers. I am bringing a Ms. Dessert again and perhaps that Not Yo Momma's Banana Puddin.

Christmas eve we are over at dads and its always; cold cuts, multiple cheeses, relish trays, ro-tel dip, little wienies, cookies, chips, dips and the like. This year we aren't attending a Christmas dinner as such and believe it or not I am looking forward to it.
We are having my mom & sister come down from RI and spend the night- so xmas eve we are doing coldcuts, appetizers and chips & dip etc..
Christmas day- Ham, mashed taters,green bean casserole and a couple of pies..
Christmas Eve we do a variety of appetizers and oyster stew.
Christmas Day we're having Prime Rib, Twice Baked Potatoes, Homemade Green Bean Casserole, Scalloped Corn, Candied Yams, and some sort of roll or bread. Pumpkin Cheesecake and Cookies for dessert.
YUM-O!! I'm not cooking, at this point I'm not sure if there is even anything for Christmas Eve (we're at the in-laws). I'm assuming not, so I'll probably go out and get some hors d'oeuvres.
Eve is spent at my IL's. It's different every year, so I don't have a clue. My MIL is a nurse, so sometimes we don't even go there since she's working. So it'll be nice just to see them.
Day is spent at my parents. Mom always has a spread of appetizers, and then we have a ham dinner later with sides of german potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans (wait, is this a summer picnic??), and jello.
It's also my brothers birthday, so we usually have birthday cake. But he won't be there this year since they decided to go to Wisconsin Dells for Christmas Whatever..... I don't really care much because my mom decided to get pies for dessert instead.. Mmmmm.... PIE!!

Christmas Eve is at my in-laws - the usual fare is pork roast, roasted chicken, rice and beans, potato salad, empanadas and my contribution as requested...a ham.
Christmas Day is at my mom's - Dad is doing baked ziti, meatballs, sausage and peppers, shrimp over cous cous...
Christmas Eve we are having Lasagna, Garlic bread and a salad. For Christmas
Day we are having BBQ Pork Ribs with smashed potatoes, corn and Pumpkin pie.
Since we are staying home this year I decided to scale back on the food. It
will just be the 3 of us so I want it easy.
Christmas eve is just myself, DH, DD and DS and we always have stuffed shells and garlic bread.
Christmas day I am doing brunch. We will be having spiral ham, potato casserole(recipe from CP), french toast casserole, bacon and egg casserole, green bean casserole and fruit kabobs. My DB, will bring dessert. I already did my food shopping, so I am ready.
