Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Wow! I am so sorry about your little boy(who by the way is adorable), but I'm so happy that he is in remission. I could never keep it a secret. I have a big mouth when it comes to Disney. Good for you.

Thanks. I am working on my next update right now. It's just taking a while to resize all the pictures that I took.

Will The Real Indiana Jones Please Stand Up and Am I Braver Than A Second Grader

8/17

Day 4 DHS Day

If memory serves me correctly, today we were finally woken up by Stitch and Mickey. Since we couldn’t get the darn thing to work ourselves, we called the front desk the night before and set it up with them. Well, it worked.

Breakfast consisted of bagels and cream cheese in our room we hardly ate any of the food I ordered from Garden Grocer.

We headed out of the room at around 8:15 and arrived at our destination, DHS at around 9am.

My plan was to head straight over to TSMM and grab some fastpasses. Well, we ended up running into the HSM2 show and I could not resist ok so I'm obsessed with HSM, I'm okay with that. So Will continued on to TSMM while the boys and I enjoyed the show.

Jared was a little shy at first, but I could tell he really wanted to participate, so I encouraged him to volunteer. I promise, I didn't force him.

my baby

Couldn't he be the future Zac Efron?

The show was very good, but for some reason I remember liking the first version better.

After the show a photopass photographer approached us and asked if we wanted to pose for some High School Musical pictures. What happened after that depends on who is telling the story. DH says I forced him to be in the picture with us. That is not how I remember it, but since DH hates the picture so much, I’ll agree with his story did I mention I’m thinking of using it for our Christmas card. I know I’ll have to pay back if I do, lol. Anyway, that is how we ended up with this picture, which is now my signature picture.

I love this picture.

This is the same picture, but I cropped it differently.

After that, I was on a mission to find characters:

First was Mary Poppins. This is when she became my favorite character for this trip at least. She was so nice and patient with the boys. She kept trying to get Aidan to come to her, until he finally did. Then she asked if I wanted a picture with her and I said yes I didn’t include this picture in my TR because I look terrible. I asked her if she’d come work for us and be our nanny. She said a fine mother like me surely did not need any help right about now I wish she would’ve taken me up on this offer as the boys are tearing the house up while I type this.

After that, we met Chip and Dale.

Next, we headed to The Magic of Disney Animation. We didn’t see this last year and I wasn’t sure if the boys would enjoy it. I’m not sure if they liked it or if they were just tired, but they were so quiet. I was really surprised. Mushu probably didn’t hurt either.

After the show, we finally got to meet Sorcerer Mickey.

I think this picture is hilarious. My boys look so funny when they are hugging the characters, sort of like they are being smothered. I have more like this one.

I was really looking forward to meeting The Incredibles, but it didn’t look like it was going to happen. Apparently, they were off saving the world or something.

I wanted to give Animation Academy a shot, but one had just started and we didn’t feel like waiting.

Up next was Playhouse Disney. I don’t remember if we posed with the characters before or after the show. Here are the pictures.

Jojo

Another funny picture.

Aidan really loved this whole area since these are the characters he watches everyday.

(continued I will post the rest of what I have tomorrow because it's getting late)

Day 4 Continued

As for the show, I liked it last year, but we all loved it this year. I’m so glad they updated it with all the characters the boys are familiar with. It was so adorable. I thought Jared might be too old this year, but he still had a blast. They were singing and dancing and even kissing. It was so cute.

Jared during the show. He looks so sleepy.

A few pictures of the show:

Not part of the show, but equally as cute.

Muppet Vision 3-D was our next stop. We skipped this last year because the line was so long and I wasn’t sure if the boys would know who the Muppets were. Since the line was fairly short this time around and the boys know the Muppets from the Disney channel, I thought we’d give it a shot.

I had forgotten how much I liked this. It really was fun and it was a hit with the boys as well. Their favorite part was the part with the bubbles in the theater. I also made it a point to look for the key under the mat that I had only ever seen on tv.

After the show:

Now it was time for some shopping. I’m not really sure what exactly we bought it’s been 4 months, all I know for sure is that Will got the one thing he’s been wanting since last year, an Indiana Jones hat. He never mentioned that he wanted it until we were back home from our last trip. He hates buying anything for himself. So I made it a point that we would not leave WDW without his hat.

We tried a couple of nights before this, but none of the hats fit him. too small Finally he was able to find one here in the store next to the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular. It was definitely the best $40 we ever spent. It made him so happy. He never took it off for the rest of the trip even if we begged.

The famous hat

Somewhere between the Muppets and trying to find Will a hat, I lost my sunglasses. Okay, I have a story about me, sunglasses, and WDW. First you have to know that I am very picky about sunglasses. I don’t buy expensive ones, but I can never find a pair that I like. I finally found a pair at Walmart last year and they were my favorite ever. I wore them for the first time at WDW last year and Aidan accidentally knocked them off my face our first day there.I couldn't be mad at him, he was a baby. Of course, they broke. I went without any for a few days okay I was being picky and cheap Finally when we were at AK I broke down and bought another pair. I was almost blind by then They were not the nicest looking things and they cost $25 much more than I am comfortable spending on sunglasses for myself, okay I told you I'm sort of cheap Well, I wore that new pair for about an hour before the baby knocked them off my face again.

Fast forward to this year. I take three pairs of sunglasses with me. I’m ready for anything. Or so I thought. The first two pairs broke on the first day I guess that's what I get for being cheap. Then I lost the last pair. I give up. I have no luck with sunglasses. Sorry for such a long side story. I didn't realize that I was rambling until it was too late. I think I need some sleep.

Now back to my TR. I wasn’t going to buy another pair, but the sun was so bright at DHS this day that Will insisted. An hour and a few stores later, I finally find a pair that I like at Keystone Clothier for $16.95 not too bad. Will insisted I also buy a cord to hang them around my neck not very stylish, but necessary with my history.

Here are some more pictures that I forgot to add earlier

Sunglasses and cord in hand, it is finally time for our ride on TSMM.

Next Up: First Look At TSMM and Will I Let Jared Ride TOT??....

Great updates! I love the hat. What a shame about your shades, but I'm glad you found more. I'm one of those who still has a pair of sunglasses from 1995...Liz Claiborne. They went out of style, but they are back in now.

Great updates. Sorry about the sunglasses. I'm like you, I started buying cheap ones because of my propensity to break and/or lose my sunglass for to frequently.
