The Third Time’s the Charm! Fourth (Third) Annual Mom and Me Trip--Updated twice on 10/21--now COMPLETE - Page 22 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I swear, there is nothing better than a big, strapping lad screaming like a little girl on the TOT! I think that is one of my favorite things about riding solo on this ride. The tough guys are always too macho to grab one of their friends next to them, but not too ashamed to grab the woman they don't know sitting on the other side of them.
What a great morning and afternoon you and your mom had. Can't wait to hear about MNSSHP!
I love Donald. May have to add a breakfast there next year. He's adorable. You and your mom are just too cute. Love the pictures from GMR and can't wait for your pictures of MNSSHP. I'll be checking out for myself in a little over a week so some insider tips would be great.

Ooooooo - I love those robes at TOT - I have admired them for a long time!
I still get quite envious of you and all of your drops on TOT - oh, to ride back to back, to back......
What a great day you two are having! But, that is just too funny at how quickly your mom found herself a little treat!
You two are hilarious! Looking forward to fun update on MNSSHP!
Just catching up, Sharon!! Great updates! It sounds like you & your mom are having an awesome time. All that food looks amazing! That guy on TOT looks absolutely hysterical! We're still dying to get that Cowboy version of GMR. Looking forward to more.
Oh yeah...and, by the way.....I dug up a photo of your friend from POR for you!

What a great morning...love seeing Donald at CM. He knows some great fans when he sees them....of course nothing beats seeing you and your favorite character (not that anyone could tell that he is your favorite...I mean that bit smile of yours is not even noticable )
Great timing at DHS...a couple of drops on ToT (love the pic from your ride, poor guy looks like he is going to jump out of his seat). Glad your mom enjoyed TSMM and that you were able to enjoy the queue without having to wait to long...
Sounds like you got a lot done, a break at the pool sounded perfect (except for the not hot "hot" tub). Now you had to mention fudge...my all time favorite WDW treat. It made me remember that one of the guys in my office just left today for a few days at WDW and I have to wait until he gets back to get me some
See I have a game plan...I have already planned like 5 peoples trips at my office to WDW and all I ask for in payment is fudge...so if I plan well I always have some on the way back, however, it has been awhile (none since my June trip) so I am in desperate need and waiting until my December trip is not an option....
See now I am rushing the poor man's trip all becuase I need some fudge (I am such a bad friend and while I want him to hae a great trip I need some fudge )
Can't wait to hear all about your adventures at the MNSSHP....

Sounds like a great first part of the day, Sha!! I absolutely the face your mom is making in the popsicle picture . . . . . Just something about it made me LOL. It was so funny how you said "nothing til dinner" and you managed to have a milkshake, fudge and a SAF. . . . . It's just too hard to resist those kinds of things while at Disney Looking forward to more!!!
What a great update. I can't get over that view from your balcony. I would have trouble leaving that one for sure. Sorry to hear the hot tub and pool were on the frigid side. Love the pic of the screamer on TOT.
Donald Duck!!! You had a great morning, productive and relaxing at the same time. Well done! I had dibs on you actually caving first for a FB before your mom had her sugar fix! Oh well. Was that fudge yummy?? My mom and I love fudge too....
The fudge was really tasty!

How was the fudge? "Store bought" fudge never quite lives up to homemade fudge. Did yours?
Her accuracy was terrific! We even discussed it. She was kind of ashamed of her score but I told her that her accuracy made up for it.
The fudge wasn't quite homemade, but still good.

And I cracked up I tell ya at the picture of that big strapping guy grabbing hold of anything or anyone to save him from ToT! Wait . . . that will probably be me if I ever get the nerve to ride it again!
What a wonderful morning! And I love the idea of Donald at CMC!
Jill
Yes, I got the shake from Min & Bill's. They have what I consider to be the best quick-service shakes on property.
And don't worry about screaming on TOT. Since you're not a big strapping guy, it won't be as funny.

I the robe. It takes me right back to Disney when I wear it.

That shake came from Min & Bill's Dockside Diner.

We saw the breathless that afternoon on the waterway in front of MGM - must have been right after you saw it from your balcony.
Yes, Jyl told me that unless you got there by like 7, you weren't likely to get in.
How you saw the Breathless just before me!

Glad you girls could get your fill of breakfast goodies and sweet treats at CMC. I don't know Sharon, you seem to be a um ~magnet~ for some interesting characters in your day at MGM!
Sorry the pool was a bit on the chilly side.
danielle
Danielle, I'm a magnet for... OK, I'll just go ahead and say it - WEIRDOS. All the time. Just look at who my friends are! Seriously, I do seem to attract oddballs.

Meg, I was pretty composed at breakfast. Wait until you see the pics from dinner.
And I'd bring you back some fudge, but I think you're going back to WDW before I am.

She definitely looks like "You caught me!" And only DM ate the fudge. I saved mine until I got home.
