The Third Time’s the Charm! Fourth (Third) Annual Mom and Me Trip--Updated twice on 10/21--now COMPLETE - Page 11 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Oh how have I been missing all these Pre-Tr -TR's! R-Sha I am glad to see you got your Mom/Daughter trip in! Sorry your plane was late. Hope you had a wonderful time as you are probably on the plane now!
Okay, now she's just being nasty . . . first she sends the picture of MY dessert and then the news that Soarin' has short lines for the first time in the history of the universe???
I think the fact that her mom is taking all of her candy has made her mean!
Jill
Excuse me, Madame President, but WHOSE dessert?!
I don't think leaving the candy with her DM is that much of a risk--there's more to be had!
That's it?????? She's back already Where does the time go??? Can't wait to read all about it!!! And see all of the pictures with Sharon's Mom and the candy!!

I'm back! And of course we had a fabulous time. I'm so bummed that we missed the Illuminations meet, but I did have a chance to see Terri and her boyfriend Chris. Plus I also got to meet Jyl (jpod523) and hear about her fabulous new CP assignment, post-Pleasure Island. I also got to meet the Crissys which made me really happy. But more about that in the actual TR.

DM actually let me have some of the apple, but I think it's only because she knew she couldn't finish it all by herself. so much, Keri!

The way I am reading this makes me believe that you bought into DVC????? Am I right? Or am I reading it all wrong????????????????????
Oh gosh, I don't want to look like a doof here, so help me out Sharon!
I bought into DVC about a month ago. And now DM bought so we're both owners at AKV.

You have me so excited about the F&WF--maybe I should cancel my ADR at San Angel and just eat around the world instead next week!?! (Advice please ).
Unless you're really looking forward to SAI, I say cancel it. We were usually too stuffed for a real meal after eating so much at the F&WF (and we were sharing! ) But I planned it that way.

I got a live update this morning from Sharon, but I was busy making a crazy-good Devil's Food cake for my step-mom's birthday.
This was from Sharon' breakfast at Cape May Cafe:
"Donald made his CMC debut today!"
I gotta say, his outfit is just darling and so nautical -- I it!
Eileen
Isn't Donald's outfit cute! I was so excited to see him there, and told him when I met him. He was happy to hear that and gave me 713 kisses. The new lineup at CMC is Goofy, Minnie and Donald.

Eileen
I don't think she stole anyone's candy while I wasn't looking, but she did want to keep going around and around in the same treat line. The CMs started to recognize her.

Buuuuut, she let me know that she got up early and had to leave her candy in the room.... with her mom....
Anyone want to take bets on how much is left?
Eileen
We actually didn't have rain that night until after we'd turned in for the night. We couldn't have asked for better weather. As for the candy? I locked it in the safe!

That's all that's left of DM's candy! I've still got a whole bag full!

Definitely take your time at the F&WF. We did 4 laps on 3 different days and still didn't sample everything we wanted to.

OMGosh! This is the most decadent thing and, knowing how I only got one -- ONE!! -- bite of Jill's sundae in June, I find taunting me with this picture a very cruel trick from my CLQ buddy!
The second update came early this morning while I was trying to feed a passel of hungry boys this morning (no school today so there was a sleepover last night. )
"Soarin = total walk on. Row 3 completely empty."
Accccck! Is Sharon TRYING to kill me? First it's the chocolately-peanutty goodness dribbling over the side of the glass and now... short lines at Soarin?
Someone PLEASE remind me why I love Sharon again?
Eileen
PS - I *still* hope she has a great day.
Sorry about that. Next time I'll try to send less delicious-looking updates.

Are you serious about the no waiting for Soarin'????? NO WAIT????
They actually had empty seats??
I have got to GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you think dh will notice if I leave for a few days????
That last picture update is so sad! I am so sorry Sharon and Mom's trip has come to an end already!
Do you think they brought any candy home????
I couldn't believe how empty Soarin' was during morning EMH. We were in row 1 () there were only about 8 or 9 people in row 2 (and I mean in all three sections) and row 3 was completely empty. All 3 sections! I couldn't believe it. It did build up, but even after 9:00, the wait was only 25 minutes.

Sharon, you're probably on the plane at this point, but know that I'm anxious to hear all about it and we're all dying for you to start on the actual updates!
Eileen
I've got to resize and upload my photos, but I hope to get started on the actual TR tonight, if not tomorrow. I mean, check out my ticker.

I was just making sure the quality is still up to your standards. And it is.
