Kissing Divers, Rain, Black Eyes and Dreams TR - Page 4 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Pass the dole whip (we didn't try it for the first time until the day before we left...oh it's so good--I'm craving it and the evil mickey bar) to Pirates.
Harrison wanted to see the pirates first and so we will come back later and see the rest of Adventurland later. We had to ride the bum burning "rugs" too. New meaning to carpet burn in a 107 degree weather.
Yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me...whistle
We took the left side of the line and got right on..Harrison was officially made captain of our boat (hope he doesn't make his brother walk the plank!) The "octopus" as Harrison likes to call it effect wasn't working like we remember. The fog was short and about head height--last time I remember it covered a large area and it was hard to see where you were going. Hayden loved the the drop though he held on as tight as he could. After Pirates we headed over to the Haunted Mansion. Rusty got confused and started walking to BTMRR to get to the HM. After a correction and a bit of doubt from him we headed the right way.
We all shoved into a doom buggy-mostly because I didn't want to go by myself and a good thing because it stopped in the hallway with the creepy moving eyes (yes I'm a wimp). When we passed the piano I hadn't seen the shadow on the floor of a man playing it. Rusty rolled his eyes and said that was so old. See how well I pay attention. After HM we decide to get a drink and cool off. We head to Pinocchio's Haus to get cool and watch IASM. As Rusty got the drinks Harrison and Hayden had fun waving to the people in the boats. That didn't last long as the ride got stuck and people where jumping ship literally and getting yelled at.
We sat at the same table from 2 yrs ago. A family sat behind us and the kids were just so bad and the parents were cursing at them. Whew makes mine look like saints.
Harrison showing us he is eating a gummy Dinosaur.
After a drink and diapers changed we headed over to the carousel. Hayden was overdue for a nap and just wanted to be held (little did we know he was cutting a tooth too.) So Rusty took Harrison on the carousel while I took Hayden to get a blue mickey hat with his name stitched on it. Tried to find Rusty again but gave up and just stood at the cool entrance to the store and talked to a grandma who had a grandson about Hayden's age. Rusty met up shortly afterward and it was off to fly Dumbo. Oh the line was so long and hot. It was long enough for me to call my mom and keep up up to date with what was going on. A couple of kids cut in line and the lady behind us made them go behind her. Hayden was just miserable by the time we got up there. He was tired so we decided to head to Tomorrowland.
Hold me Hold me
Hot elephant anyone?
TTA seemed like the best choice to get Hayden to nap and for us to cool off. After dousing the kids heads in water, up the escalator thingy to our blue car.
He makes me hot just looking at him.
Will he sleep?
Paging Mr. Morrow Mr. Tom Morrow he's asleep!
Complain about the heat and see what happens...the clouds are starting to roll in
Since Hayden was sleeping we decided to go the the Carousel of Progress..we love it anyway and Harrison loves Rover. Then over to The Laugh Floor where Mikes little friend (I forgot his name) at the end of his speel said "Before we leave Do you want to see something cute?" We yell "Yes" and there is Hayden on the screen. By this time he was awake. I was holding him and shook my head and pointed to myself. He said "Uh yes maam your cute too but we were talking about him!" It was so much fun. Harrison by now was bugging us to see Buzz so in we go..short line and off to fight Zurg. My skills are just awful!!!
I see Mickey in this planet...but I see Mickey everywhere.
We get off the ride...it's a hundred degrees and the room is packed with people. CM's are yelling that people will have to leave and we find out why.

It was raining so hard. Our stroller was on the otherside under the awning nice and dry (so we thought...not!) We sat outside of Buzz for a good 1/2 hour and no let up. Maps got stuck in the drain and the CM's were cleaning it out. By this time their shoes were covered and one CM was just playing in it. By this time we are hungry and good thing I didn't plan a dinner this day because we were stuck. But we love food and hoof it over, through the gift stores to the Starlight Cafe for ribs and chicken. It was suprisingly not really crowded and we got a table right away. The lounge lizard wasn't working but I wondered if they shut him off since we were stuck in there awhile. After dinner the rain still wasn't stopping so to shop we go and to the bus. We grab our stroller which is totally soaked. I can't find the poncho I packed and think someone stole it. I found it in my purse later. But by this time Harrison doesn't and won't have it on him so I say fine lets just get to the bus. By the time we get to the bus we are soaked, tired, and the rain has stopped. But we decided we can go swim (of all things) at the hotel. I don't think we did and just took baths and slept. The kids then got snotty noses I think from the rain and cold but other than that we all are having a blast.
Next... DHS, stunt show, sci-fi drive in and black eyes!!!
Great update!! your reaction at the end of Monsters, Inc! And, that rain!! OMG...that is unreal! Looks like the CM is standing in a river!! Hope the stroller dries out. Can't wait to hear more
Okay I know it's been like 6 mos before I finished this TR but it was my first TR. I read some info and realized I just basically broke every TR rule in the book about photos etc. So I do apologize. I will continue if that's okay using the rules.
I just read the whole thing and am enjoying your trip report!
Wow - that rain! I have walked through ankle deep rain in Epcot before, so
I do understand how those CMs felt!
You guys sound like real troopers!
Looking forward to more!

By now it’s Tuesday, August 26th, our third day at Disney. We wake up around 7:30 and get the boys dressed in their shirts, not matching but same theme Walle.
Grab a bus and head to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Rusty has the smart idea to grab Fastpasses at Toy Story Mania. Good thing we did-I’ve never seen such a rush and the tickets were out every other time we tried to get some.
So by this time it’s all of 9:30 and what’s on my brain? Anyone? Buller? Food! We go to the ABC Commissary and eat some breakfast. Some guy bought a beer for breakfast, yum! Maybe he was stressed. After not being able to find any jelly for my bagel (what!) we eat our food and head to the Great Movie Ride. We do this ride a lot because it is so hot!
What we're eating again Mom?
Next over to the Little Mermaid. We sat right up front-not the best place but the kids did okay. Plus we were the last ones in the door. Then over to Playhouse Disney. Sadly I know all the songs and thought it was cute this oh about 12 yr old boy was secretly singing them too. The kids loved the bubbles!
Next Food! Anyone else feel like you walk two feet and then eat. Maybe that’s why I have 4 chins. So over to Toy Story Pizza Arcade. We could only find a table outside but it was cool enough by the doors when people went in and out. We did notice a lot of birds over my husbands head. Is that ranch dressing on your salad? I think not!
The kids finished the Mickey rice krispie treat!
Then off to Lights Motors Action! It had been closed the last time we went so we were very excited to see it. I got yelled at by a CM for having Hayden on my shoulders while walking.
