Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

#1. If you eat nuts, do you like to shell them yourself, or do you buy them unshelled?
I usually buy them ready to eat, but do, on occasion, buy peanuts in the shell because sometimes I like to suck the salt off of the shell first.

#2. M&M's or Reece's pieces?
Any kind of M&M will do.

#3. When you bake, do you measure out all of you ingredients before you begin mixing them, or do you measure them out while you are mixing?
I measure as I go.

#4. What is your favorite batter to taste?
Chocolate chip cookie dough. Or brownie batter.

#5. Name one food you wish you liked the taste of, but don't.
Coffee . . . because I like the smell. Just can't stand the taste.

#6. For breakfast: bacon or sausage?
I will take either, though I am more likely to choose bacon first.

BAKERS DOZEN BONUS COMPLETELY USELESS QUESTION:
#7. On average: how many times a day do you look in your fridge or pantry, without taking something out?
At least 12 . . . it's a reflex, I think.

1. If they're peanuts, I like to buy them shelled, because I like to suck on the salty shells. If they're any other kind of nuts though, I'd rather have them unshelled.
2. Peanut M&M's only; otherwise, Reese's Pieces.
3. Measure while I'm mixing. Although when I was younger, and baking, I'd pretend I was on a cooking show, and so I would have all the ingredients laid out while I would talk to the "camera."
4. Flavored pancake batter - ie blueberry, banana nut, etc.
5. Sausage or Asparagus
6. Bacon
7. 0 times - I can always find something to munch on!

#1. If you eat nuts, do you like to shell them yourself, or do you buy them unshelled? Most unshelled, except pistachios. I love to crack off that shell!

#2. M&M's or Reece's pieces? Is this a choice? LOL. They are both so awesome. Chocolate? Peanut butter? YUMMM!!!

#6. For breakfast: bacon or sausage? Bacon, thick cut, still chewy!!!!

BAKERS DOZEN BONUS COMPLETELY USELESS QUESTION:
#7. On average: how many times a day do you look in your fridge or pantry, without taking something out? I'm pretty goal directed in that area.....another ?? however, is how many times do you open the door and FORGET what you were looking for!!!!

Interesting questions!

#1. If you eat nuts, do you like to shell them yourself, or do you buy them unshelled? Unshelled - too much exercise the other way!
#2. M&M's or Reece's pieces? Either will do, but if I'm eating little things like them, I prefer Skittles. Whatever I'm eating, they get sorted out into color bunches, then get eaten two at a time!
#3. When you bake, do you measure out all of you ingredients before you begin mixing them, or do you measure them out while you are mixing? I measure as I mix, but I get the ingredients out and line them up before I mix. Then I put them up after they go into the whatever.
#4. What is your favorite batter to taste? Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, at any stage in it's mixing!
#5. Name one food you wish you liked the taste of, but don't. Brussle Sprouts. Didn't like them as a kid, and haven't tried them in my adult life. But they are on the work menu frequently and everyone says how wonderful they are, so I may have to give in.
#6. For breakfast: bacon or sausage? Sausage - patties

BAKERS DOZEN BONUS COMPLETELY USELESS QUESTION:
#7. On average: how many times a day do you look in your fridge or pantry, without taking something out? No more than a couple.

#1. If you eat nuts, do you like to shell them yourself, or do you buy them unshelled?
Not often, but unshelled if we do . . .

#2. M&M's or Reece's pieces?
Peanut butter M&Ms . . . . mmmmmmm.

#3. When you bake, do you measure out all of you ingredients before you begin mixing them, or do you measure them out while you are mixing?
Measure out while I am mixing

#4. What is your favorite batter to taste?
Sour cream cake batter

#5. Name one food you wish you liked the taste of, but don't.
Onions and/or garlic. They seem to be in everything these days, but I get physically sick if I eat them or if they flavor something (like a sauce or gravy). It makes eating out very difficult!

#6. For breakfast: bacon or sausage?
Neither. Ewwwwww.

#1. If you eat nuts, do you like to shell them yourself, or do you buy them unshelled? Doesn't matter, although I have this perception that if I buy them already shelled I am getting more for my money cause I am not paying for the shells......warped and wrong, I know! The exception is pistachio.....must shell them myself!
#2. M&M's or Reece's pieces? M+M's.....whoever invented Reeces Pieces is clueless IMHO.....M+Ms are classic man!!

#3. When you bake, do you measure out all of you ingredients before you begin mixing them, or do you measure them out while you are mixing?UUUuuuummmmm, perhaps not the ideal answer but "who measures!!!" LOL If I do though it is while I am mixing. Guess that leads to the reason I get teased relentlessly by someone about my baking (or lack there of) skills!! Like my carmel apple cobbler that was a little...uummm, lets say altered, and the pumpkin pies me and my friend made that actually caught fire, and now that I mention that..... it WAS the second year in a row I had a Thanksgiving/baking incident that involved a ***small*** fire in the oven. HHmmm, perhaps baking is not my forte! LOL
#4. What is your favorite batter to taste? I, too, can't get past the raw egg issue....no batter for me!
#5. Name one food you wish you liked the taste of, but don't. Flavored Coffee....OMG...smells so good, but can't stand the taste!
#6. For breakfast: bacon or sausage? Meat....Yuck! Neither for me, thanks!

BAKERS DOZEN BONUS COMPLETELY USELESS QUESTION:
#7. On average: how many times a day do you look in your fridge or pantry, without taking something out? Depends how bored I am that day......usually I 'll look and convince myself that I don't want the extra calories. Right now we have something called 'almond Kringle' cake, which is actually a pastry, and I can't stay out of it. It isssss sooooooo good!

This was fun!!! looking forward to more 'comletely useless questions'!! Kinda a break from reality!

#1. If you eat nuts, do you like to shell them yourself, or do you buy them unshelled? Not a nut person-if we eat at a steakhouse that has them, I'll shell them for the kids-even though they're old enough to shell 'em themselves....I guess it's an obsessive/restless hand syndrome like Amy mentioned.

#2. M&M's or Reece's pieces? M&M's

#3. When you bake, do you measure out all of you ingredients before you begin mixing them, or do you measure them out while you are mixing? While I'm mixing-which is why I'll either make a mad dash to the store or call my mom with my "batter emergency"

#4. What is your favorite batter to taste? Won't eat raw batter-sorry! Don't want to be praying to the porcelain God all night-I want to enjoy what I made!

#5. Name one food you wish you liked the taste of, but don't. Chili and/or venison.

#6. For breakfast: bacon or sausage? Bacon, if I'm in the mood and it's not too crispy. Has to be just a tad chewy.

BAKERS DOZEN BONUS COMPLETELY USELESS QUESTION:
#7. On average: how many times a day do you look in your fridge or pantry, without taking something out? Alot-as I often don't know what to make for dinner until the last minute!
