As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Paschal gives Neleh the immunity necklace?!?
Think about it - they've made a pretty big deal about giving up the immunity necklace since the merge but not one immunity winner has taken Jeff up on his offer. I think we may see it happen this week. I'm sure Paschal knows Neleh is the biggest plane on the radar screen now. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Kathy aligns herself with Sean and Vee (12 of 21 Passporters polled agree!), planning to vote off Neleh. Paschal wins immunity and at Tribal Council gives it to Neleh to protect her from getting voted off. They turn on Paschal instead and he gets the boot sending Sean, Kathy, Vee and Neleh to the final 4. Neleh goes next and then Vee with Sean and Kathy in the final 2. Kathy takes it all home. Too far fetched? Don't think so - I think they would have edited out the whole giving up immunity if it didn't come into play here at some point. Doesn't make sense for someone in the final 4 to give it up - if it's going to happen this is the episode for it to occur. Thoughts?

I agree on most, but think Kathy, Pappy & Neleh would vote Sean off. I have said from day one Vecipia is going to be the winner. Let's see if I'm right. I think she has strenghts we haven't even begun to see.

As I recall Kathy made an alliance with Neleh a long time ago and it seems that her word is pretty important to her. I too can see her voting off Paschal because if you remember last week when she was talking to Robert that she said that the team of P/N needed to be broken up and that she was sure that "he" (not she) would understand. Also, Miss Kathy is not stupid, she knows that if it ended up being her and Paschal in the final two that she probably wouldn't stand a chance with the jury against him.
Personally, I would like to have Sean get the boot this week but I'm going with Paschal also!

Yep, it's an hour regular episode tomorrow night with a two hour wrap up, the last 15 minutes being live from Central Park in NYC where the winner will be announced. Then Rosie will host a on hour Survivor reunion. So Sunday night is 3 hours worth of Survivor!
I'm thinking Kathy wants this million dollars, so she'll disregard the prior alliance with Neleh and end up voting her off. She has a great chance to win up against Sean, maybe Vee, but up against Neleh would be more difficult. And I can't believe I'm actually pulling for her when I wanted her voted off first!!

Steve, it's so funny because I was thinking about Survivor on my commute into work this morning and was thinking the exact same thing about the immunity necklace. This is something I could definitely see Paschal doing. Also, if nothing ever came of it they wouldn't have included the whole thing about giving up immunity.
I also agree that Vee, Sean and Kathy will be the final three.

OK, am I the only one who believes Kathy is in a bad spot? She really is the lone woman out, and I think she has wavered in her loyalties enough to make the others leary of her. I think she will join up with 2, make it one more vote, and then she will go out after that. I am not a Kathy fan, I think she has been "fickle" in her aliances...I see Paschel, Neleh and Vee in the final 3...

I leave for the Wonder today!
I will missed both the Amazing Race 2 final and the last two episodes of Survivor, how sad is that!!
I have the VCR programmed, for May 15th, May 16, and May 19th. I hopefully wont missed anything important. Please no titles with spoilers, as I will be checking in on the boards, Thanks.

OK, here's another one for you. They made a big deal about Neleh not being as nice as everyone thinks. So, here's my theory. The groups of 2 stick, and Kathy is voted off. Then Neleh turns on Paschal and he is voted off next. That would put Sean, Vecepia and Neleh in the final 3. Now who do you think the jury would vote for in that group? Personally I would like to see Sean win the whole thing just because he was truly himself thru the entire show.

well it's been my thought that if anyone gives it up it would be Pappy to Neleh. I can see Pappy giving Nelah the necklace (bad move, but a typical "Pappy" move). But would the gang really vote off Paschal first? And is Nelah that heartless that she would vote her "Pappy" off.

So tonight's episode is called A Tale of Two Cities - which, as I'm sure you know is a Dickens work of fiction with a theme of great sacrifices being made for the sake of principle. Hmmm...interesting. I'm going to go with the whole Paschal winning immunity and giving it to Neleh, but instead of Paschal getting the boot, I'm switching to Sean. I don't think they'll vote off Pascahl after he sacrifices his immunity. We'll see. But I'm officially changing my guess to the final four being Paschal, Neleh, Vee and Kathy. Vee goes next - the three stay true to their word. Kathy wins immunity to make the final 2, giving Paschal the boot and goes up against Neleh. Ultimately she takes the whole thing. I really think John, Zoe, Tammy, Robert and Sean would vote for Kathy over Neleh - or even Paschal for that matter - as those two are looked upon as betraying the Rotu alliance by voting John after promising to vote off Sean. So....it remains to be seen.
And you know - I'm thinking that tonight's reward challenge has to be the one where someone wins a car! They haven't had that yet, so it will be interesting to see if they do indeed do that tonight.
Can't wait!
