Sounds like a relaxing trip so far except for the whole packing thing of course. It's a nice tradition to have Spaceship Earth as your first ride of the day. It is such a relaxing way to start your day.

Marnie - believe it or not, we got really lucky and didn't have any real issues with the crowds. I guess we just picked the right park each day!

From there, we went to Cranium Command, which we both thought was interesting. We skipped Body Wars, because I thought it was a simulator, and neither of us do well on those. We then took a short walk over to the Universe of Energy. It was a little funny, Scott thought that the pre-show for “Ellen’s Universe of Energy” was the actual show (you’d think he’d have seen enough pre-shows by now to realize that), so he was confused at first. We both enjoyed the attraction though. We then went into the World Showcase. We were both a little hungry, so we stopped at La Cantina in Mexico, which we both enjoy. We split a combo platter, Churro, a coke and a water. From there, we went on El Rio Del Tiempo which had a moderate line (longer than I ever remember seeing there – but not a long wait). After getting off El Rio, we decide to country hop a bit.

One of the things that I was interested in seeing (actually, hearing) was the Christmas traditions from around the world. Scott seemed amused enough with it, so our first stop was Norway. I had hoped to see the one at Mexico first, but we were still on the boat when that started. We saw the 3:50 show, and we both really liked it. Sigrid, the main speaker was very friendly, kept all the children involved and played the part well. The man who played Julenissen was really good.

From there, we jumped back over to Mexico to see the 4:05 3 Kings show, which was also both educational and entertaining.

After Mexico, we finally determined that we wanted to try to get into an Epcot table service restaurant for dinner. We started our journey to China to see the Monkey King 4:50 presentation, and I started trying to reach Disney Dining. It was a very long wait to get though, and I eventually just hung up so I could watch the show. Scott could not figure out what it had to do with Christmas, but thought that the program was entertaining. I guess he didn't realize that it was various holiday traditions, and not just Christmas.

We looked around some of the China shops, then wandered around a little more, while I tried Disney Dining again. When I finally got through, I was not too surprised to find out that all of the Epcot restaurants were booked up for the rest of the night. Scott was trying to call, as well – but I got through first. Scott claimed that they pretty much laughed at him when he did get through (actually, they just told him that there were no openings, but I bet that they were secretly laughing). We eventually ended up at Germany, and were able to see their 5:30 show. Again, while we were waiting, we looked in some of the shops. One of the shops had an entire tree with pickles

(if any of you follow the tradition of hiding a pickle ornament on the Christmas tree, you will know what this is).

After the Germany show, we took the Friendship Boat back to Mexico so that we could see the 6 p.m. tree lighting ceremony at Showcase Plaza. It was really fund and we got a picture of it. Like I said before, Scott really liked the fact that he still got to hear Christmas music and see decorations; it really made him feel like Christmas had not passed him by this year, which made me feel good as well.

After taking some pictures of the tree and other lights, we headed went to The Land for our FP ride on Soarin’. We got to the pavilion around 7:00 which was too early for our FP. Before going to Soarin’, we watched the Circle of Life movie, which neither of us had ever seen before. It was very entertaining. We stopped to have bite to eat at Sunshine. We split a rotisserie chicken meal that came on a flat bread and salad, and added some smashed potatoes and we also split a piece of strawberry shortcake. I really didn’t care for the chicken (the cake and potatoes were really good, though), and I think that it did not sit well with Scott later that night. From there, we went on to Soarin’ where we had a short wait, but were seated in the front row. We loved it, as we usually do and will definitely ride it again.

After Soarin, we went to get a spot for Illuminations around 8:00, and we found one just beyond La Cantina in Mexico. Scott went and got a frozen banana and a glass of egg nog (not my idea of a great combination, but hey – and he wonders why he got a belly ache). We waited at out spot for about an hour and a half, but I thought that it was well worth the wait. We killed time by playing Tetris on our cell phones. The show was great, and just when we thought that it was over, they had an additional holiday portion to it. As Scott said as we were walking away, “That show never disappoints.” On our way out, we had toyed with the idea of going to the MK for EMH. However, Scott’s food was not sitting well with him, and we decided that that was the sign that we were not meant to go to MK that night. Honestly, I was whipped and ready to go back to the room, anyhow. The line for the busses to POFQ was long, but a couple came at a time, and we did not have to wait that long. We arrived back at POFQ at around 11:35 and grabbed a quick snack of pizza and apple slices (again, not a great combination, but we are on vacation). I grabbed a quick bath to soak out some of the aches, but still had trouble falling asleep for some reason. Scott was again out like a light.

I have been catching up on your trip report. Sounds like your night wasn't a total loss even without the Dinner. Hope your tummy ache was short lived. More please.
