Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

It\'s a ....

very modest baby who would NOT uncross his/her legs the entire 40 minutes of the ultrasound!! I am so upset. The poor technician tried and tried to get the baby to move but nothing worked. She even gave me more time to see if something would happen. Nothing! The baby NEVER uncrossed it's legs! I was trying so hard not to be disappointed, but after leaving the office, I just burst into tears! Now I have to wait another 10 weeks! Right now my Doctor is on vacation, but when he gets back in another week or so, I am going to beg him to do another ultrasound..even if I have to pay for it out of my pocket! Anyway, sorry to have no news! I am leaving for the weekend for my son's big 2nd birthday party this Sunday at his "Ganny's" house. We have it in Columbus, GA at her house because that is where all our friends and family live! I'll miss you guys over the weekend! Hopefully, I'll be able to share the sex of my stubborn child with you real soon. Stubborness...where on earth could the child get THAT from !

Re: It\'s a ....

So sorry to hear you were not able to find out what the baby will be at this time. I do think it is funny that it wouldn't move out of that position!

Hope you have a very nice weekend and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to that BIG 2 yr. old!

My new granddaughter was born on DD best

Re: It\'s a ....

Nicki - Sorry that things didn't go as you planned today. Hopefully your doctor will let you do another ultra-sound soon, and the little one isn't as modest the next time.

Your story was just to cute! I hope you got a picture of this ultra-sound. Just think of the stories you can tell your child's future husband or wife!

I hope big brother has a wonderful birthday at Ganny's house!

Sorry you were disappointed, nicki, but this child obviously is either shy or wants to take things in it's own good time! I wonder if this is a preview of the things to come?

A very happy birthday to your 2 yo! Hope you all have a wonderful time!

Re: It\'s a ....

Sorry you couldn't find out what you were having. I didn't find out with either of my kids and I enjoyed the surprise, waiting until the last minute. There needs to be some kind of reward after all that hard work. At least it's a healthy baby, We'll keep you in our prayers for an uneventful pregnacy and easy delivery.

Re: It\'s a ....

Aurora1429,
Thank you so much for your kind words. My sister waited until birth to find out with both her girls. She also wanted a surprise! I on the other hand, can't even shop early for Christmas, because I hate to wait to give gifts ! Your are right about a healthy baby being the most important thing. I'm thankful that this time around I haven't developed gestational diabetes like I did with my son. I will be having a repeat C-section this time, so at least labor won't be a problem! I sometimes wish, I could have had a "normal" delivery with Cameron but I was so thankful at the end to get him out that I told the Doctor he could take him out my nose if he had to...just kidding !

Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and words!

Re: It\'s a ....

Nicki---when I was pregnant with my first (a son) I could not see what he was by the ultrasound either. Same story...crossed legs. But I could see his eyes and nose and I was blubbering like a baby. I was disappointed that I wouldn't know his sex, but shortly after, I was actually glad. It was fun speculating until the end. So when I had my second, I never had an ultrasound. I carried very similarly and thought the whole time I was having a boy. I was so suprised at delivery, that all I said for the first minute was "We have a girl"...over and over. Finally my husband says, "aren't you going to tell your Mom her name...". That brought me back .

Re: It\'s a ....

Nikki,

Sorry to hear about your modest child!LOL! On the next ultrasound drink a Mountain Dew. I don't drink it,but it is loaded with caffine! We had problems with trying to keep them still long enough to measure! And both of them were NOT modest. Legs spread for the whole world to see! Maybe that is why they love to be naked now!LOL!

Re: It\'s a ....

Nicki,
I'm sorry you were unable to tell from your ultrasound what sex your having. We'll maybe he or she was trying to tell you that they didn't want to be found out. I have 2 boys and was surprise with both. From the beginning of each pregnancy I knew what I was having. Well anyway that is my $.02, I hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and you get what you really want. (a healthy baby).

Re: It\'s a ....

Nicki-
The same thing happened to me with my recent pregnancy. We have two girls, and found out the gender by ultrasound with them. They were very cooperative and the ultrasound tech had no problem identifying them as little girls. So, my third pregnancy comes and the whole family goes for the ultrasound--the girls were so excited to know what we were having--well, the baby had other ideas and seemed to hide on purpose. So, I--who am a compulsive planner and decorator--had to wait. We had a beautiful baby boy on June 1, and I can honestly say that the thrill of everybody shouting"It's a BOY" was one of the most amazing moments of my life! So, if you can't find out--the payoff is fun. But I would probably still try.
Good Luck
