10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 89 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I suspected that you were going to try a Conjurita! It looks delicious! Abracadabar is definitely on my list of places to try! Flying Fish is a beautiful restaurant and your meal looks delicious!
Your meal at Flying Fish sounds delicious. FF is a favorite of ours and I'm sorry we didn't get to dine there on our trip.
It was very good and like how the restaurant and menu have been reimagined! I had some good meals in the past at FF and some mixed ones!

Your drink looked delicious and I too love the ambiance of this Abracadabra! So nice that you had the Boardwalk to stroll while waiting for your ADR time. We haven't eaten at FF for at least 7 or 8 years and the last time we were there, the meal was just OK, along with the service, so I'm so glad to see that you enjoyed the experience that night.
It's a great place and love the atmosphere and feel of it! The drinks was quite unique and a good one! I had some mixed meals at FF in the past but nothing to complain about this one at all!

I think you'll enjoy this place if you're in the BW area. It was a very good drink and so unique in color! Loved what they did to FF and had such a good meal!

Sounds like a great meal. I love the new feel to the Flying Fish, it's so much more light and airy than what they had before.
It was crazy with the drink and how it changed in color! It was so good as well! I had a great meal with very good service and plan to return, but with the ongoing dilemma of so many other places I need to try, which is a good thing! Love the new look to FF as much brighter and welcoming!

Without A Bed, I Guess This Is the Next Best Thing!
Friday, October 13th (Part V) As this was my last full night on my trip, I decided to stay out a little longer. Since I was at the Boardwalk, why not end my night at the Bellevue Lounge as it’s one of my two favorite lounges on property. The skies were still threatening, but it had yet to rain.
I walked from Flying Fish and over to the rear entrance to the Boardwalk Inn. When I arrived there, I saw something I wasn’t expecting on the lawn of the resort as you’ll see below!
Someone had a tough day or perhaps too much indulging earlier at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. Without a bed, I guess this is the next best thing!
Rear entrance of Boardwalk Inn
Even though it’s dark out, you can see how threatening the skies are becoming.
I went to the Bellevue Lounge and saw that there were only a few people here. I always enjoy that without the crowds and noise as much more relaxing.
I ordered a Grand Marnier in a snifter glass as well as a glass of ice water and just enjoyed these for a while. I talked to the bartender for a bit who remembers me from previous trips.
I got up from the bar, so I could get some photos of this nice lounge. I also got some of the men’s room down the hall as I don’t usually take photos of these, but this one is nice.
I enjoy the look, feel and theming of this cozy lounge!
Next, I went to use the restrooms and got a few photos inside. It’s quite nice and there was no one besides myself in here or I wouldn’t have taken photos.
I like the look and design of these. Wasn’t this a nice restroom?
I returned to the Bellevue Lounge and settled my bill. I began to leave the Boardwalk Inn and walk back to the Dolphin. But, things would change in a few minutes…
A covered area around the rear entrance of the Boardwalk Inn
I started walking to the Dolphin when it began to sprinkle, but very large raindrops. I knew the skies were going to open soon and just seconds later they did! I was at around the Flying Fish, when the deluge of water began. I got back in a hurry to the covered area at the Boardwalk and watched the rain for a bit.
Quite the rainstorm!
The rain came down quite hard for a few minutes and as quite common in Florida, it was over very fast. Once the rain stopped, I returned to the Dolphin. I was looking forward to seeing the Dolphin all lit up again as I saw a few nights ago as well as the fountain.
This is so beautiful and I love the cool lighting!
This is the part of the walk I enjoy most between the Swan and Dolphin resorts!
Fountain outside of the Dolphin, but unfortunately it’s not quite as animated as it was a few days ago.
I entered the Dolphin for one of the last times on my trip. Before, returning to my room, I explored the lobby area and a few areas adjacent to it. Of course, I got some photos.
At my immediate right is Todd English's Blue Zoo, where I had an enjoyable dinner last night!
I haven’t dined here in many years, but have on two occasions. I think the last time was the same trip I last dined at Blue Zoo until last night. I enjoyed it, but being a steakhouse, it’s quite pricey. It’s owned by former Miami Dolphin’s head coach Don Shula.
The expansive hallway where many of the convention ballrooms are located
Lobby area
As you can see the lobby area is very large with plenty of comfortable seating for those grabbing a drink a Phin’s bar in a much quieter and relaxing area.
Lobby seating looking towards Phin’s.
After spending a little time down here, I returned to my room at around 11:30 pm for the night. It was another long and active day for me that I enjoyed so much!
When I returned to my room, I got ready for bed as well as getting my bags ready for the flight home tomorrow evening. My trip wasn’t done yet as I had a later flight and I would still have more Disney time tomorrow! I watched some TV for a little while before turning in for the night.
NEXT: Not What I Wanted to Hear on My Last Day!

How funny about the guy taking a nap in the lawn. I'm sure the rain woke him up.
It was quite funny to see that and I would think the rain would wake him up, unless he was out cold!

It's quite amazing seeing this and loved this walk on a few nights back from the Boardwalk. There was always music that accompanied the lights and a bit of a light show!

My goodness, that rain was something! Yes, sadly that sight of the guy on the lawn is what happens at Food and Wine when people over-indulge, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. That's why we always try to avoid Epcot now on those nights, as it can get quite rowdy...
Sounds like a perfect end to your night! The Boardwalk Bellevue Lounge really is such a relaxing lounge and I really enjoy the whole atmosphere of the Boardwalk lobby. Glad the rain didn't last very long and you were able to enjoy your stroll back to the Swan and Dolphin Resort. It certainly is beautiful all lit up at night!

The rain was crazy, but probably only lasted about 10 minutes or so! I've seen things like this at the festival and not always pleasant. I enjoy my beverages, but I don't get like this! And yes, it's a Friday night!
