As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Your meal looked absolutely amazing! Being a foodie like yourself, I think I should do this one day as I've dined at V&A's a number of times and at FF a few times and always had a great meal there!
Just wondering with your intermezzo....what is that sauce or something in the cup next to your sorbet?

I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't even know the Tune-In Lounge existed until I read it in your trip report. You really do learn something every day.
Me either! I feel like an idiot! Wish I would have known this last year when I was drinking!
Sorry, I've read your entire TR from end to start so I have to go backwards now lol.
You MUST post the pic of the server from Restaurant Marrakesh, you can just photoshop yourself out of it since you said you didn't like how you turned out in it. lol
I also LOVE your room at OKW! I love the little balcony & the tub is amazing!
I'm sorry about your license, what a hassle in Mexico as well. Kind of funny to me in a way that Mexico gave you the most problems. I'm glad the other countries were more accommodating!

I'm surprised you haven't tried it yet! And honestly, I don't remember

I think you guys would love it! And I'm sure they would be very accommodating with your meat preferences.

Welcome along! I'm so glad it wasn't an issue at dinner or anything, it always felt like such an accomplishment when I didn't get carded The picture in Morocco was of me and the restaurant, he wasn't in it
What a wonderful meal at FF! This is on my list to go to - even with the boys, they do enjoy seafood so I think it would be a good signature to try first.
Your new kittens are ADORABLE!
What a lovely meal! I love how the restaurant looks inside! Beautiful décor!
Thank you! They are pretty much a cute overload It was a lovely restaurant!

Thank you I hope you get to try it soon! It did seem like a more family-friendly signature than some of the other's I've been to.
After dinner headed to Belle Vue Lounge for a drink and was the ONLY person there. The drink was delish but no good people watching so I was quickly on my way. I had gotten the Smoked Turkey manhattan I believe. TiW Savings of $2.20 here!
Ended up heading to Epcot to go get a bus and received lots of compliments on my dress! Got a long island in UK and had almost an issue with my ID situation again. Thankfully the manager okayed me and the bartender was just as happy as I was! Got my drink and headed on my way! They make a great long island here and the price is right! Made for a nice leisurely stroll to the front of the park.
Went towards the front and stopped again in Mouse Gears on my way out to look for the Pandora charms I really wanted (the Epcot monorail one that had appeared in blog posts with no real info). It hadn't been released yet but there was a pullover sweatshirt I loved so I grabbed that as it would be easy to just carry out of the park with me. Was informed the bead would be released with Flower and Garden opening so fingers crossed! (Spoiler: It was not released the date they gave me)
Headed towards the front again stopping for a few Photopass with my sparkle dress and to finish my drink before heading out. It’s always tough getting the pictures at night with the long shutter speed and bright flashes but I think a few came out okay.
In no time I was on a bus back to Old Key West. I had called my mom on the way out of the park and had to hang up to sprint to get the bus but I made it! I was definitely ready to call it a night in that lovely king bed. Another early morning ahead...
But the bathroom sink was still leaking I called and let them know and asked that they send someone tomorrow because I was going to bed... 10 minutes later there was a knock on the door and when he could tell I was PJs up he apologized but he FINALLY fixed the leak (or so we thought). And brought the right towels to replace the wet ones. Took three calls to fix a leaky sink. Ugh.
Day 2 -
Total Steps:12,883
Highlight: A Leisurely afternoon in DHS
Something New: Wine Dinner - what an amazing experience!
Tip for Next Time: Stop and get a drink to go from Tune In before waiting for a show.
I love your dress as well - beautiful! Just out of interest, what shoes were you wearing with it? I always love the idea of wearing a dress to the parks, but the only shoes I can walk long distances in are trainers (tennis shoes) and I don't feel they look right with a nice dress.
Three calls for a leaky sink? Ugh! And by the sounds of it, I'm guessing this won't be the last time this trip report we'll be hearing about this...
Your dinner at Flying Fish looked delicious, especially the dessert! Heading to Epcot was a nice way to wrap up your evening. I really like you dress, the color looks great on you. I can't believe that it took 3 calls to get the faucet fixed
