As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Your welcome on the info and I have more when you call me later. Congrats on the new car purchase!! Love the color too! Then again both our cars are blue. Hehe
Ugh! I never got the time to call you back! It's been crazy here again. Can you PM me your work schedule next week so we can set up a time?
This is the first blue car I've owned - I really liked a dark silver but this dealer couldn't get it in, and my cousin in Cleveland could, but it would add $850 to the price because it had to be flat bed shipped from Upper Michigan. My husband voted for the blue and I admit the color is growing on me, plus it will be easy to find among the sea of silver cars in a parking lot That's how we ended up with our Green Van.

Congrats on the Flex! I don't know how you do it, I have 1 DD who drives me insane anytime I take her anywhere! Lol
The water park sounds like fun for the kids. I'm sure they'll love it!
Would it help if I mentioned that the salesman gave the boys paper and pens to draw, a mechanic took pity on them and plied them with fun animal crackers and showed them how to use the water cooler, and by the time we left, they'd tattooed themselves all.over.their arms with the ink pens?

Thank you! Before we purchased, I did test drive a car like yours In the end, we got a really, really good deal with employee discounting through Ford plus the dealer extended the warranty for 5 years, 100,000 miles to match what Chrysler was offering if we traded in the van...we had no intention of trading the van away but Brian wanted me to investigate before we purchased.

Tara, thank you! It's SOOOOO much fun to drive The Disney mail contained:
Luggage Tags - they're really cute with a retro type Mickey picture. We also were given 5 for the first time ever!!!! We got 2 on our first trip and none on the last trip (we booked that trip through AAA and had a ton of "glitches"). It also had a coupon booklet with 2 free passes for Mini Golf, 2 Disney Quest passes and a discount card that gives a % off at Sammy Duval's, the childcare and a few other places. The booklet also gave some information about the hotel
Next Disney mail should be our Magic bands as tomorrow is our last day to customize them.

Registered Message Board Members save 30% off PassPorter guidebooks! When you register you'll have access to a discount coupon good for 30% off the list price of PassPorter books in our online store.
Don't know how you managed to purchase the car with 3 in tow. Well done!
I'm very lucky in that my boys spend so much time together (they are the only kiddos on our street, and we live about 15 miles from their school and school friends) they are pretty good at entertaining themselves.

The 22nd will be our 2nd last park day, and we are planning on spending it at DHS.
Originally we were supposed to me my friend and her family here, but when I moved our dates around to give us a full day in the park, our schedules don't mesh. Instead we're going to try to meet at MK on the 18th OR for swim time on the 17th. The swim time is entirely dependent on the CM/Life guards because we're staying at 2 different resorts. She and her family are staying at the Grand Floridian.
We plan at being at DHS just before opening so we can head straight for Toy Story - along with everyone else. We will wait in the Stand by line. The other "must do" things include:
Disney's Magic of Annimation, Finding the Cars Meet & Greet, Frozen Fun and 2 spins on Star Tours.
Our FP+ get a bit complicated as I had to juggle different "wants" for the boys:
1:00 - Lights, Motor Action (Brian, and the boys)
1:30 Twilight Tower of Terror (Patrick and I)
3:15 Toy Story Midway Mania (Everyone)
4:50 : Star Tours (Brian and Nolan)
7:00 Frozen sing a long (Cullen and I)
Like the previous day, we have no firm eating plans. The big request from Brian was that we spend part of our vacation in relaxed "unscheduled" mode. This brings me to my next question:
Shipping things to a resort.
I haven't done this, but have ready MANY posts where people have We're a bit concerned about cargo space with the Flex (okay, he is - I'm not) because it doesn't have all the storage options that our minivan does. No stow-n-go for example. Having said that, I thought of using Amazon Prime to ship a few non perishable things - water, pop tarts, peanut butter, etc to cut down on what we have to bring in the car with us. How much in advance to I need to place an order and is there a pick up charge at the resort? I'd want it delivered to the Poly so we have the snacks etc on hand. Of course, another option is to stop at a grocery store before we check in, or send Brian after we unload the car and check in.

I can't help you wil Amazon Prime but when we use Garden Grocer we order it about two weeks in advance. You HS day looks fun! Eating at DHS always causes me stress.
Too funny about how the boys ended up on the car purchase.
You don't want your box to arrive too early to the resort, so be mindful of when it would arrive. There shouldn't be a charge. You'll need to make sure you list your name and check-in date if it comes before your arrival.
Finally on board and all caught up with the PTR and all the changes. We are doing LEGOLAND too - first time. Siesta Key is so nice. I hope you can still manage to get there with all your changes.
I have never shipped from Amazon to the resort but have used Garden Grocer for delivery and it was fine. Very Convenient. If you have Amazon Prime and you order items avail from the "prime" account, they ship in 2 days.
Whenever my DH and I travel to WDW, we always stop at a grocery store to pickup a case of water and other essentials once we get down there. It's so easy and then it cuts the cost of what you're spending in the parks.

It causes me stress too, and I don't know why.

Great mention! I went and double checked and the bottled water is part of the Prime!

We will either ship it ahead of time, or stop off at a store on our way in
