Yes, It IS About the Food OR Two Foodies Do WDW From Table To Table--TR - Page 16 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Delicious updates! Breakfast looked and sounded perfect! We still have Tutto Italia on our list to try and seeing your meals makes me wish I had added for May.

I've had a string of wonderful meals at Tutto and it's on the list for every trip. Your meals looked amazing from start to finish! It's incredible how different a really good olive tastes from the ones you usually get, even expensive ones. The really good ones have a totally different texture and layered taste. I once got some raw olives and attempted to cure some myself-- total failure, but it gave me an appreciation for what goes into the process and how many variables there are.

What a wonderful meal at Tutto! I must admit I've had the same thought as you that it might go to two credits at some point, as it is superb value on the Dining Plan, given its prices for a one credit restaurant.
I know this is out of sequence, but I had the time to write this up so here it is. Her Dotness was not feeling well after overindulging in some of the fantastic foods we ate, so I went to Via Napoli solo while she rested back at the Wilderness Lodge.
We had relatively early lunch reservations for about 11:30, and I was a little early (about 11:15) to be sure I got there on time. (I hate being late for reservations) Even so, there was a wait to get my table. Via Napoli had a number of people waiting and I ended up not getting a table till 11:55.
For my appetizer, I had Prosciutto and melon which is one of my favorites. Since Her Dotness is the cook in the family, this is one of the few things I have ever made for her. It helps that there is no cooking involved When I have had this appetizer at other Italian restaurants, the melon is cut up into cubes and wrapped in prosciutto. Not at Via Napoli. Here it was two large slices of skinned melon covered in prosciutto. The melon was sweet, the prosciutto salty, the best combination of both.
Then came the main course, Pizza of course I ordered the Capricciosa Pizza which has eggplant, artichokes, cotto ham, and mushrooms. Even as a single serve pizza it was too large for me to eat alone, especially with dessert to follow, but I made what inroads I could. (Oh the sacrifices I make)
Then came the dessert. Growing up in NYC, I have had a lot of Tiramisu over the years. This one was right up there with some of the best I have had. The espresso soaked ladyfingers were delicate, the mascarpone cheese a tangy compliment and of course the chocolate, need I say more?
The only downside for me was eating alone. Her Dotness does not mind doing so, but after growing up the middle child, I always have found it a little depressing. We will have to try again on our next trip to go together, so there is always something to look forward to.

Looked like a good meal at Via Napoli, but sorry you had to do it alone this time! The melon and prosciutto looked so good! The pizza looked ok, but then again, I don't like a lot of toppings on mine!

Sorry for your unplanned solo meal, but it looks like a tasty one! I've had bad luck at Via Napoli, but I keep hearing from others about very nice meals there, so I guess it'll go back on the "maybe" list.
Drew, thanks for sharing this update. I just made a lunch reservation for my daughter and myself for our upcoming trip. I have never been here before so I'm really looking forward to it!
I may do Via Napoli in the future, but there are so many eateries in WDW I want to experience before this. And this is from one who has taken 11 trips so far to the "Happy Place", beginning in 200,. (94 nights, to be exact. 8+ nights on average, but less frequently over the last several years. Hope this changes.) Perhaps, in 2016 as this coming year, I'll be on a Magic cruise in the Western Caribbean and another trip( it's six of us to Memphis, but been tough so far coordinating specific dates with families etc. But we pretty much have it nailed down now. In May.) and won't be able to visit WDW the first half of the year. We'll see for later in the year as I've always wanted to do the F&WF) I've been saying that here for quite some time now and need to make it happen!
Strangely, that all my dinners have been table service, so this should sum things up that I love my food! I may do VN for lunch, but probably not for dinner. As I've explained before, the Italian food in my region (SW CT)is quite incredible and I don't want to be let down and just may be, but I may be surprised! We'll see!

Sad to hear you had to eat alone. But the meal looks good. That's one of the places we tried on our very first trip and loved it. Might do it when we go back in May.

Yes, we took pictures of more than just food.... Part 1
After reading through what we have posted so far, I know while we were actually at WDW we did more than eat, but some people like proof. So here are some of the great photos we got that only marginally revolve around food.
Here is Minnie giving me a little sugar, Her Dotness says I blush really nicely.
Then we have Her Dotness being all Maleficent-like while waiting for food at Restaurant Marrakesh.
Here I am having a lovely time with Mary..... (Poppins of course)
Her Dotness with the Mad Hatter, they make such a lovely couple.... (of what I have no idea )
We have a lovely nighttime shot of us and the castle as taken by the Tomorrowland bridge.
Yes, I am wearing bow ties in all my pictures, I love dressing up a little at Disney (I get told how dapper I look even if I'm not there for Dapper Days) and Bow Ties are Cool.
Yes, we took pictures of more than just food.... Part 2
Now, for those who remember way back to 2004, they were building the Leave-A-Legacy at the front of EPCOT, which Her Dotness and I took part in. Yes, if you go to the "graveyard stones" in front of the epcot dome, you can find a picture of Dot and me. Here is the original picture (yes, I had hair then).
Here is how it looks on the Legacy wall..... even after 10 years it still looks good.
We loved the Mine Train both times we rode it with Fastpasses (no way I'm standing in line that long for that short a ride)
We even got to goof around with Goofy..... (I think they got my best side )
Let us remember this trip was during Her Dotness' birthday, so I would be remiss if I did not add this.....
We did have a wonderful time and have many lasting memories, hope you've enjoyed some of them.
