As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Looks like a yummy breakfast. Glad you were able to meet up with your cousin and the kids. Hope her husband was feeling better soon.
Great morning at the MK, my youngest loves Splash Mountain and would ride it over and over as well. She still says one of her best days was one morning a few trips back we got to the park at opening and rode it like 6 times in a row. She was in heaven.
Love the pictures of Under the Sea. I do agree the FP line misses all the great elements of the queue. I think we used a FP once last year and never did again, I find that the line moves pretty quick, even on this trip we just went on, the wait time was posted at 30 minutes, think we were through in less than 10.
Great pictures of the Under the Sea and Eric's castle!
Thanks

The darn family.,....they never understand when it's time to linger and time to move fast!

That would be heave for Claire too. I think I would have to stop after 2 or 3 though. LOL. When Paige was younger she rode ToT like 8 times in a row and people just kept switching out to go with her because we were all getting a little sick.
Yes, that line does move fairly fast these days...even when it is busy.

We kept walking and went down the right side of the castle on that little path and then I found it…and was shocked. The smoking section has been moved to the two little sitting areas along this narrow path. Now I don’t mind this at all, but I know many people have allergies and irritations with smoke and this is a very busy path, especially with all the construction going on and now all these people have to walk right through the cloud of smoke.
Oh and the view from the smoking section….
A drained moat. Really weird to see that.
We then realized the time and decided we should go find a spot for the brand new Festival of Fantasy Parade. This had just debuted about 2 weeks before we had arrived and I was super excited to see it. We went to our favorite parade viewing area in Liberty Square and it was already pretty packed. Luckily we found enough space for our 2 rears to sit down along the rope. I think it was the last 2 spots in the whole area. The reason it was open???? Bird poop was right on the ground there. Yep, I didn’t care either. I got out a tissue and covered the bird poop and we sat right down. Bird poop washes off anyways, right?
We still had quite a wait till the parade actually started, so we sat and talked and I played on my phone a bit and Claire played on my phone a bit.
Finally a little bit of action.
Well that was nice, but now more waiting.
Let’s take a selfie….
This looks promising!
Ok, that was nice too…..but more waiting.
I was also texting back and forth with my friend Janet, who I think was almost as excited as I was about the new parade. She told me to be sure to try and get a picture of the dragon breathing fire….OMG!!! I had totally forgotten that it did this. I will definitely try!
And now for the Grand Marshall!!! We are getting closer!
We were now getting excited….the Music had started!!!!

Beautiful maternity pictures of your daughter! Loved all your Ariel Under The Sea pictures. We always get the wrong cashier in Gaston's Pub. I also think they just didn't set up the queue area very well in there. It's so sad to me not having the moat filled with water! Do you know if they are filling in that entire area and there will be no moat with water in the future? I used to love getting a picture of the castle reflection in the water at night!
Ugh, what a terrible location for the smoking area. I would much prefer those be tucked away where I don't have to see or smell them. I've noticed a bunch in WDW that I think are too close to the general public areas. Can't wait for the parade pics!
Beautiful pictures of Paige! You look so much alike!!!
Thanks. I notice as she gets older, she does look more and more like me.

I do too. It's one of those strong memories I have from my first trip so many years ago...probably 40+. Wow! I hate saying that.

What's a little bird poop in the big scheme of things.

It is kind of a mess in there and I notice people changing lines constantly in there.
I am not 100% sure what they are doing with the moat. I think they are filling in at least part of it for more viewing areas for Wishes, but it would seem sad to me if they do away with it completely.

It is a really dumb spot. And the ones that were secluded in the past seem to have totally disappeared.
I know the last time Skip went with us, he wanted to go smoke in one area and I told him, nope it's gone and he couldn't beleive it as it was one of the only ones that was back out of the way.

I'm not letting no stinkin' bird poop get in my way!
I am going to post a mega update with all the parade photos. I am not sure how much more I will post this week after that one though, but I will try. I head off to Florida on Friday and I have to wrap up some work before I take the weekend off. I also have to pack yet, but I have some things already set aside to go in the suitcase. I also need to make sure I have all my paperwork in order...because I just haven't been gathering it all together like I should....oh and check my flight times so I get to the airport on time.
I'll be back home late Monday afternoon/early evening. And I am sure it will take me a day to get caught back up with the real world again, but I will try to get as many updates as I can when I can. I still have such a long ways to go on this TR and lately time has not been on my side.
