Another August Adventure with a shot of Testosterone...TR Completed 2/19 - Page 6 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Your plans look great! I like the balance of plans/fastpasses and leisurely touring. Maybe I'll get there one day...there are three parks that are new to our family so I know we will try to see as much as we can this year. 3 days to go!

Love the pacing of the plans with some nice downtime at meals and the pool. Izzy loves EE, too...tied with ToT as her fav. Last time we were there, she rode EE five times in a row, in the pouring rain. At least there were no lines to wait in!
Can't wait to see some of Jasmine's pics at AK...she has such a good eye.
danielle
Angel definitely has plans for multiple rides on EE, she is fine going through the single rider as will Alexa and the boys so if the standby line is long after their FP I am sure that the SRL will have a few guests going through a few times extra.

Jasmine is definitely the "dictator" of the group

We have always enjoyed dinner so I am excited to try breakfast this time around.

I don't know what I was thinking when I originally made the plans, glad I relooked at them and realized it was a Sunday. Think Monday will be a much better option.

Hopefully I will take tons of pictures. I have stayed there before but the girls haven't so I am excited to see how they like it.

I was really happy to check in with the family. I must say, I am having a hard time with the addition of the boys, but Jasmine looks so happy, I know I will have to give in. The plans sound great... although, waiting till the second day for MK and the castle, and no Soarin' till the 3rd day? Seriously?!
Savanna view! Ahhh!
This is gonna be FUN!
I know...no MK for the first day but since it is going to be a haphazard day we thought Epcot would be a good place to start. We rather have the whole first day for the MK. Hopefully we will be able to grab Soarin on standby later in the evening.

At this point the way the plans fell no PH, we have the WP&M option so it kind of just worked (at least at this point) that we stuck to one park per day. (Jasmine wanted to ensure we would have plenty of resort time as well).
However it is always an option to add on if we needed too. Figured would save a few dollars now and if we need them I would add them on when we were there.

I have enjoyed reading about your last trip, am excited to see what adventures you take on your new trip.
I missed yesterday's update and was planning to update now but of course I have lost track of time (too much to do and not enough time to do it all in) so we are heading out to the One Direction concert...YEAH (can we all hear my excitement). At least I will not have to deal with the actual screaming children, Jasmine however I do not think will forgive me anytime soon....LOL
Will get a double update out when I get back tonight....just a hint...

No earplugs at one point she text me and said "I only have 18% left?" My reply "18% percent of your hearing or your phone battery".
I am happy to say she made it out alive, she might be hard of hearing for awhile but at least she survived. Angel and Izzy...they had their hearing but not sure they have their voices left

She survived. It will cost me however. I now owe her a mini shopping trip for school clothes. I guess it is a fair trade, I did get the nice dinner and still have my hearing.
So I mentioned I made a change. Well I actually made two. The first change was on Day 4. I actually cancelled the Coral Reef and we were able to get a dinner at Rose and Crown.
We really need to stop looking at menus as we are always changing our minds
The next change was on our last day so I will save that one until I get to our last day daily plans.
So to catch up as I missed yesterday's (and technically today's) post.
Day 5 Plans
So as I mentioned once I realized that we were going to the water park on a Sunday we swapped days so we will now head over to the water park today (the kids are leaning towards TL but we will see).
We will head there at opening, enjoy the early part of the day and then probably head back to the resort around 3 PM.
Today is the day we are celebrating Angel's birthday and Angel and Alexa's graduation. The girls wanted their celebration meal at 1900 PF so that is where we will go for dinner.
I ordered a cake, I am pretty excited to see how it turned out. When I was on the phone with the cake manager over at the GF we discussed allergies and then what kind of decorations I wanted. She asked the girls favorite characters. It is a strange combination as when I asked they said Olaf and Stitch...ok maybe they are foretelling a new Disney movie in the future....LOL
She said no worries I have the perfect idea. So I am pretty excited to see their creation.
We will then head over to the Magic Kingdom for a bit to enjoy Wishes and a few attractions before heading back to the resort. I will get the bags packed because tomorrow is moving day.
Day 6 Plans
Once the kids are ready we will call down to Bell Services so they can come get our bags and transfer them over to the BCV. While I wait the kids will probably go and enjoy their last meal at the Mara.
Once all that is completed we will head over to Hollywood Studios. Our Fast Passes for today are:
Tower of Terror
Toy Story Midway Mania
Star Tours
The girls and I will have lunch at the Sci-Fi Diner while Jasmine and her boys head over to the ESPN club. We will then head over to the BCV, check-in and enjoy some time at the pool.
We will head back to DHS later in the day for dinner at Mama Melrose and enjoy the Frozen Fireworks and Fantasmic (and Jasmine thinks the boys will enjoy this).
We will then take the boat or walk back to the resort for the night.
