As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

It is WAY too early for Disney nightmares. As they go, though this one was pretty mild. I guess the really bad ones-- unable to get into a park, missing the plane, etc will come later, but maybe they only come when there's no planning left to keep your mind occupied. Just shows that we have Disney on the brain and in the subconscious, waking and sleeping!
That's the same thing I thought. Waaay to early to be having nightmares. I hope, if I do have more, that they are equally silly and not the bad kind.

It was borderline silly. But, then again, I'm always having these strange dreams that don't make sense at all.

I'm hoping for no more nightmares, just magical Disney dreams.

As I wrote it I was cracking up. I mean it was so silly, just like the Jungle Cruise jokes even though they're corny you have to laugh.
Just joining in. Your plans sound great so far! Adding The Plaza was a good choice! That's one of our favorites.
Oh yeah, it's too early for Disney nightmares!
I hate Disney nightmares. And yeah, this is way too early for them.
Yeah there just weird I had one where I arrived at Disneyland in a suit and my luggage got lost and when I phoned the airport they said my bag was destroyed.

You aren't shrinking...the boys were all standing on boxes or phone books. Yeah, that's it.
Yeah, that's it. Maybe it'll be a good idea to get a box so I can stand on it instead of them.

I tell you, Disney dreams are just the weirdest.

Good luck finding the shirts you want.
I told my dream to Arben and he was just rolling his eyes at the silliness. I have to admit, the dream was pretty funny. I wonder how my mind comes up with these silly things.
I keep adding and changing things with my adrs. I think I have an illness. LOL
The first change I'm going to blame it on Lisa (lfredsbo) and her picture of the mahi-mahi. After reading in her TR about her meal there I thought it would be a restaurant Arben and the kids would enjoy. I quickly went to allearsnet.com and checked out the menu. The kid's menu looked good enough for the youngest. Then I ran it by my consultant aka AJ. He looked over the menu and said that he could easily find something to eat. So I looked at my plans and settled on a day that would work for us. I went online and easily found what I wanted. The problem is the only time I could fit it was on departure day. Sooo, that means The Plaza is out. But I'm not too sad as I know there'll be plenty of opportunities to try this out in the future.
The next addition I had already thought about but when I did my adrs I completely forgot. Last trip my kids saw Rainforest Cafe and thought it looked so cool. They enjoyed their meal at T-Rex and this one has kind of the same concept. I decided to check and see if there was availability and there was. We'll be eating here on arrival day.
To sum up, these are the adrs I added:
June 2 Rainforest Cafe/AK 3:15 pm
June 13 Coral Reef 1:30 pm
I'm hoping there will be no more changes. I won't make any promises though.

Uh oh! . You will enjoy Coral Reef! Watch out though, I still have a few more meals on my TR!
I know my kids will be in total awe looking at the tanks. I'm hoping to sit as close as possible to them.
From now on, I'll skip over the food portion of your TR.
Arben will tell anyone that will hear him about our trip. I guess somebody's super excited about going to Disney. The thing is that each time, he comes back saying that we should get the DDP. On Friday, I'd had it. I asked him who was he going to trust, some random people that the only thing they know about Disney is that it's in Orlando or his wife, who's pretty much a Disney expert. Just to appease him, I ran the numbers again for the umpteenth time. I made this wonderful spreadsheet, put in our adrs, other places we might eat, snacks. It came out almost $1,000 less compared to the DDP. Right now, for us, it doesn't make sense to pay for the DDP.
As I've said before (and have explained to Arben numerous times ) with Abniel being considered a Disney "adult", it's kind of a deal breaker. He eats like a birdie. I also don't eat very large portions or have dessert with my meals. Sometimes I'll prefer a snack for lunch instead of a full meal. There'll be so many wasted credits or me scrambling to get my money's worth. That's not how I want to spend my vacation.
I told Arben and he seems to be convinced, for now. I told him that the total can/will vary when we're there. I didn't factor any FABs that I know we'll be having. But still, it doesn't come close to the near $2,700 we'd have to pay for the DDP.
I just wish he would trust the decisions I make and stop questioning them each time someone puts an idea in his head. It's gonna be a long 4 months if he keeps this up.
